If you are looking for a keyboard for a tablet, this is another option for a bit cheaper, and seems more portable. (Maybe not as many features though)

I bought one of those a couple weeks back. Great keyboard and I use it daily, but it is a little on the heavy side

    • Darn. Should I have bought this? .. I'm not especially into the Windows ecosystem and bought the wedge last week. Shopped interstate from CA above.

  • "HOT!"

looking at the msy SKU it's RVF-00054 however the cashback site has RVF-00005. Does anyone know if this will be an issue?

    • how?

    • +3

Just got off the phone with them. They are aware of the issue and will process the cashback. Maybe better if you get email confirmation from them. Email contact is on the cashback page.

      • Cheers

      • thanks!

ah damn, wish it was the arc touch bluetooth!

($55 at MSY still seems to be the cheapest for the bluetooth version)

    • +1

They have that for $55, which would be $23 after cash back. But as dishz noted, the sku at msy is different from that quoted on the Microsoft website, so you might not get the cash back.

      • yeah i know, but that is the standard price it has always been. it is the cheapest, as i noted, but same price as other places. was hoping for a sale on it (hence why i said i wish it was the bluetooth one on sale).

and yes, it's a different sku, but they have already noted to someone that it's a misprint on their website. i doubt they would block cash back over it (particularly if you called them to confirm).

  • Has anyone claimed cash back successfully yet? I didn't receive a physical invoice from msy so I just took a screenshot of my successful order from my account on MSY, will that be sufficient?

    • +1

Sent mine in about a month ago using the pdf invoice officeworks emailed me. No cashback yet.

    • And submit claim by 20th February.

  • I've not used the MS cashback thingy before, and I have a question about the TCs as they relate to discounted items.

    One of the TCs is:

"*Recommended retal price. Price is set by the retailer."

Isn't the 'retailer' the mob you actually buy it from, i.e. in my case I bought a 'MS U6R-00027 PL2 Wedge Keyboard Bluetooth' from UMART at the discounted price of $52, so in this case isn't the retailer UMART, and thus the 'retail price' $52? If MS looks at it like that, then won't they give me 40% of $52, not 40% of the actual original/full price of the item? I bought the keyboard on the basis of a post suggesting it would qualify for $40 cashback, but I'm having a few doubts after reading the TCs. I'd appreciate any advice on this.

    • Your 40% of the RRP cash-back will be directly deposited into the nominated Australian bank account

    • +3

RRP is set by manufacturers. In this case, Microsoft.

One their cashback site, they have clearly set the RRP of your Wedge Keyboard as $99.95. 40% cashback means you'll get $40 cashback if you purchase the product from a participating retailer (in your case, UMART) regardless of purchase price.

That means if you bought it for $52, you will only have 'paid' $12 once your cashback comes in (around 60 days).

  • Do you think will I be able to get a price match at Officeworks?

    • +1

      yes you do
last week deal of MS keyboard OW did pricematch

  • I just see that the OW is out of stock for ARC mouse, so looks like still have to go to MSY.

    • msy also sold out

  • Say the deal is valid for participating retailer. Does any one know if CPL is participating. oR DOES THAT JUST MEAN ANY AUSSIE RETAILER. is there a list?
    '

    • is there a list?

      From https://www.microsoft.com.au/cashback/Home/Terms

Participating stores for the offer are Harvey Norman, Domayne, Joyce Mayne, JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Dick Smith, Officeworks, Bing Lee, Big W,EB Games, MSY Technology Pty Ltd, Officemax Australia Ltd, Centre Com Sunshine Pty Ltd, Computer Alliance, Austin Computers, Leading Edge Group Ltd, PLE Computers, Umart Online, Compuworld.

      • So not CPL it seems?!?!

  • Has anyone ever used the Universal Mobile Keyboard before? Would it be suitable for use in the lap while sitting on the couch?

To me the magnetic hinge doesn't look sturdy enough to use on anything other than a table top, but thought I'd check.

    Thanks for any info.

    • +3

Just bought one at lunch and had a bit of a play with it so might be able to help you out here.

The magnets are bloody strong - it won't come apart unless you're trying to unclip it and yes, it is possible to balance it on your lap, though the dimensions are quite small and you might have to have your knees touching to created enough of a flat for the kb to balance on.

Well made and all the controls work well with a Samhung Note 4. Love how there is no on/off switch to meddle with, and also it works in tandem with swiftkey! When the kb is in use, swiftkey hides the on-screen display bar predictions.

      Bargain for $22!

      • Thanks very much for that.

I was more thinking about using it in my lap while sitting cross-legged, rather than sitting it flat on my thighs in a normal sitting position.

Is that possible do you think? Or just not feasible with this product?

        • Do you have squared off/flat thighs?? I don't see how you could use anything other than a ginormous laptop, on your thighs, in a cross legged position?? XD

        • @highon2str:

I currently use an iPad with a Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard cover, and that works perfectly. Because the keyboard and stand is just one solid piece, it's easy to balance/position in my lap even while sitting cross-legged.

I guess I might be asking too much, seeing as this is a 2-piece product.

  • Does one need to physically mail in a form filled in with your bank account details or are these things done online nowadays?

  • Arc mouse sold out :(

    • +2

bluetooth model still in stock.. $23 after Cashback

    • +1

I tried buying 2 just before and it said sold out. Tried buying one and it worked. Hope it's not that they sold me an out-of-stock item. :S

      • I was able to get 2 few hours ago.

  • The ARC mouse isn't sold out yet atleast not at all locations. If you go through the OP's link, it shows you the Online status which is Sold out but if you click on it, it shows you the other locations and a lot of them have stock.

  • Is Microsoft cashback website down now?

    • just submitted mine few seconds ago.

got confirmation email back. The attachment doesn't show whether the receipt attachment is successful or not…..

      everyone got the same?

edit: just check, the website is working

  • Slacks Creek MSY shows no stock of the Arc Touch mouse when looking online, but I was just in the store and bought one and they had a box of them.
