  • If one is already with Medibank can one cancel and start new membership and qualify?
could do the same for my partner too :)
they should acknowledge existing members too been with them for some time now :(

    • Yep - encouraging new members to join, and existing members to leave. Have to think that giving members something that might make them exercise more, so become healthier, might reduce claims - even if it might also increase physio claims…. ;-)

Cancel and rejoining may impact waiting periods for most of the extras.
I would seek advice before executing your plan.

    • That'll screw up my benefits/bonus if I leave and re-join..

I joined a few years ago where they had these lower cost plans, and each year they add an extra $50 + $100 to your benefits/bonuses..

FYI there is also an option to get the first months premiums for no cost instead of the fitbit.

Might work out to be better value for you.

Also dont forget up to 50000 bonus Flybuys points with new policy - https://www.flybuys.com.au/partners/medibank

can we claim flex if we get flybuys points??

      • Yes but get it confirmed via phone sales not online.

    • how to get first month free, i am interested it instead of fitbit? any web link?

      • Nope its only available via phone.

  • just signed up

  • I've been a Medibank member for over 10+ years and that's what I get.

    Thanks, Medibank, for nothing.

    • As ginmi always says "Loyalty doesn't pay".

  • much better than bupa :)

  • Wow…a free fitbit flex…surely they can stump up for the Fitbit Charge? The flex is pretty obsolete now.

  • +1

I was more interested about the 50000 flybuys points and its $50 cheaper for the policy than what i have with bupa

    • what's 50k flybuys points worth?

      • $250 in vouchers

  • +1

wow with all the medibank offers combined (including doing the 10,000 steps x2 via move into march)
I could end up with $450 worth of gift vouchers and 2 fitbits, just for signing up for direct debit hospital and extras couples cover.

    seems very enticing.

    • How do you get 450 worth of gift vouchers, is it $250 worth flybuys only???

      • plus 2x$100 (2 x 20k points) by doing the 10,000 steps for march thing as a couple.

in theory using the fitbits that they supplied.
