Min spend: "at least $2,500 on eligible purchases within 3 months from account opening"
Also, I can't see where it says $0 Annual fee. Looks like reduced ($70-$130) AF from what I can see…

yeh.. cant see $0 annual fee

  • annual fee is 130$

Can the point be redeems for flight programs ie velocity?

    • +5

Apparently no link to FF programs and Bankwest values the 50k points at just $150!! This offer is signifcantly inferior to many other recent bank credit card incentive offers. eg. ANZ.
      No deal .. :-( … !!

      • If you save up and get one of the $500 gift cards then your 50000 points are worth $185.

  • Annual fees:

    More MasterCard $70 †
    More Gold MasterCard $120
    More Platinum MasterCard $130 †

† Reduced annual fee promotion on Bankwest More Classic & Platinum MasterCard is a limited time offer, only applicable to new Bankwest credit card customers.

Haven't checked with this BankWest card but I know that with most banks, when you have an active balance transfer promotion, you no longer get any interest free days on your purchases made on the CC.

Meaning you would be accruing interest from the purchase date (not the statement due date like normal) on all your purchases that you are making to get to the minimum spend for the points. Might want to factor this in. Can really catch you out because you won't realise until the first statement comes!

This. Coley has made a very important point. If you want to get this CC for balance transfer, you should ONLY use it for balance transfer.

  • There was one posted here less than a month back with a balance transfer, nothing for 18 months and I thought, no fee?

Also, I have a Bankwest Platinum Master, as long as your limit is 8k or higher, 0$ per year fee and 0$ international xfer fee, damn good card.

    • Zero $ fee card has no rewards points. I have one too but hardly use it. I remember once upon a time all my cards were mastercard. These days all visa.

Coles is also offering 0% for 18 months on BT with $0 annual fee. It is only available for new applicants approved by Sat 28 February 2015.

So this cards gonna cost me $70!! No Annual Fee waver…. cant be bothered….

  • I've checked this for the platinum card (offer gives 50,000 bonus points for $130 fee).
Rewards site for BankWest says 50,500 points is worth $200 cash back.
(I believe that cash back gives the best redemption rate, all the gift cards that I've seen are more expensive -ie Its 28,000 points for a $100 wish gift card)
To get the 50,000 bonus points you have to spend $2,500 within 3 months (at platinum earning rate will mean an extra 5,000 points -enough to get you a $25 wish card for $12.94)
Potential to make $70 (after the annual fee)

Everyone is right in the purchases will earn interest. $2,500 worth of outstanding balance for a full 30 days would be ~$42 in interest payments!!!, so if you are going to spend on a balance transfer pay off any spending as soon as you hit the statement date -order of payments legislation will ensure that it pays off the interest earning balance first-)

  • Revert rate after balance transfer of 19.99%

  • Not a bargain. Coles mastercard is offering 18 months 0% balance transfer with $0 annual fee. and 50,000 points is only worth $150, and you have to pay the $130 annual fee.

    • Doesn't that mean this card is $20 better value? Same BT offer, but an annual fee offset by bonus points?
Sounds ok unless I'm reading it wrong.
Assume existing BW customers can't get though…

      • +2

yeah its similar but if you want it for the full 18 months BT then you need to pay 2 years of annual fees

        • Damn good point!
