  • Second game is Forza Horizon 2.

    • I think adblock blocked the panel.

      Fixed, thanks!

  • Hmmm… 6am local time. Not really an issue for HK, SG, KOR, TW, NZ and IND, but what about Australia? 6am in Sydney is three hours before 6am in Perth?

    • so that would be different local times then ?

      • +1

        6am WA.
        7:30am NT.
        8am QLD.
        8:30am SA.
        9am VIC, NSW, TAS, ACT.

If I got that daylight savings business right, and that part of an hour nonsense.

    • Actually, looks like it's more local to Perth than Sydney. lol

      It's GMT+8 for Australia.

I don't get it. If it's the first 100, and they're only giving away 100, how on earth does that work with different time zones? Surely, by the time it starts for me (local time) there'll be more than 100 who've already played for an hour???

Edit: Oh, GMT+8. Just read the terms. What idi… I mean who on earth turned that into "local time"?

    • It might be because, for example, India is on +5.5GMT, and NZ is +12GMT, so they just wrote one paragraph for all seven countries.

  • LOL I'm still confused, when does it start for Sydney?

  • +1

Darn, if only it was abit earlier, im normally up from 4am onwards before I head off to work :( Could have fit it in during 4-5am :(

  • I found the defn of local time here
    http://www.xbox.com/en-AU/weekendfun/terms

I guess it's GMT + 8 because we are contracted to their Singapore office, and Singapore is GMT + 8.

Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, and Singapore all contract to Singapore and I presume all have to have the same time.

Which means it should be 9am start for us (ie Syd and Mel).

So the adults who work full time miss out…

Guess I'll just ignore this 'competition' then.

YOu have to wonder why they didn't make it Saturdays.

    • Could be worse - India's at GMT +5.5, so 3:30am!! How 3:30am on a Friday morning is a "weekend" is beyond me!! :-p

    • I don't think that's correct. Every regions terms and conditions list the start as 6 AM GMT + 8 and the end as on the 19th at 23:59 GMT + 8. I'm guessing that's when the competition initially started, not what local time means.

There's no way 6 AM local time is code for "6 AM in Perth, no matter where you live".

Since when does a weekend start on a Friday morning? Why couldn't they do it on a Sat morning?!
Not being a student or on holidays, & with the comp starting at 9am locally for me, there's probably Buckley's that I'll be in the first 100.

    • 6pm would have made more sense. Not sure how they're going to do this anyway, as I'm sure there'll still be way more than 100 who hit 1 hour of playtime at 7am sharp. So what if a thousand hit 1 hour play at the same time? Who gets the 100 prizes?

      • Yeah this is too vague, seems completely dependent on luck… you'd have the game running before it hits the start time, you keep it on for the following hour - there'd be thousands of people with the exact same finish time (exactly one hour after start).

  • I hope this means HaloMCC will be fixed by April 10th. Can't wait!

Did anyone give this a shot? I just played Horizon 2 for the hour, let's see what happens. Surely I was first, with like I don't know how many thousands probably. lol

    • So how was your luck… in the first 100?

      • +1

Well, I haven't heard anything yet. Though I believe it said something about two weeks for getting your notification after the event, so there's still a tiny bit of hope. lol

        • +1

I'll cross my fingers for ya haha, thanks for the reply.

        • @stowie: Ugh! I did not see this…

"To receive the prize tokens by email, you need to opt-in to our Xbox communications.

Please visit https://live.xbox.com/en-AU/MyXbox/ContactPreferences to opt-in and receive exciting information!"

…until just now. So if I was in the first 100, but did not have this enabled, I would not get my prizes? Nice to not even mention that in the T&C!

Edit: Guess this means I'll never know whether I actually won this or not. :(

Just received confirmation, everyone who was or still is taking part in this, you MUST be opted in to Xbox communications, or you will not receive anything, even if you are amongst the winners!!!
