Will need to use VPN for the US store, otherwise we get ripped. I recommend Hola easy to use and does the job.

How Long to Beat Hours
Main Story 12 Hours
Main + Extras 25½ Hours
Completionist 52½ Hours

(How long to Beat has insufficient data)

Download was around 12 GB if I remember and folder size is 16.1 GB - just writing this because the system requirements aren't accurate with HDD space.

This is a really good game, it's what Dead Island was supposed to be. The combat is fluid, the movement is excellent. Night times are scurry. Port Report by Totalbiscuit

Feel free to use my referral code for $2 off for new accounts ( I get credited $2 as well): http://www.greenmangaming.com/?gmgr=gezobupu

    • Due for release on Friday 27th February 2015 - just 29 days away.

Physical release got pushed back outside of the US

  • I bought this from CJS last night for the same/similar price. Don't see this as a bargain since it's all about the same going price at most places.

I got mine for $15 thanks to glitched out Russian 4-packs which release gift copies that activate worldwide :P

      • anymore of the 4 packs still available? I mean do you still have slot in your 4 pack

        • Sorry, I just bought a single copy from someone else who bought the 4-pack.

I'm not one to post deals from unauthorized sellers/resellers. Don't want people of ozbargain to deal with any bullshit that comes after their purchase. And then going by that logic, the cheapest is $49.99 outside of GMG or if you want to deal with DLgamers security (which I don't) then you can get it for $47.99 US. Everyone has their own choice but I would still prefer to deal with legitimate websites.

Since when was CJS non legitimate?

        • +2

Since when were they ever legitimate?

        • +1

They aren't a legitimate reseller or seller therefore they aren't a legitimate business in my book.

      • But you have no problem obtaining games from these legitimate sites by using illegitimate methods, the sweet irony ;)

  • Doesn't this have region-lock? If I buy the US key, will it activate on my Steam account? I got burned when I did that with the South Park Game

    • I'm unable to confirm if it's region locked. I don't think it is though. I purchased the game off of Amazon for $49.99 and I've had no troubles, 9 hours played so far. I've purchased through the US side of their store before and had no problems but I don't want to promise you anything.

      • Thanks for the Amazon tip. I'll probably wait for Ozgameshop to stock it rather than risk a US key. I can't afford another invalid key.

        • Yeah, I can understand your concerns. The wait will be worth it no doubt. Great game.

    • There are basically 2 types of region-lock Steam are employing;

      1. "AllowCrossRegionTradingAndGifting"
The one which stops a person from purchasing a game outside of that country, normally it also means they can't register it on Steam without using a VPN. Once registered though they can freely download and play when ever they choose.

      2. "OnlyAllowRunInCountries"
Basically you can't play unless your IP is within that country for which the game was registered. This is (was) common for games not available within Australia (e.g. Syndicate) but is now starting to see use in other ways.

On the most basic level, this method Steam is using would be referred to as Dumping, and while it's not illegal as such it has been condemned by the World Trade Organisation.

All that aside, a site I use to determine region locking says the GMG version is region free (multi-region)

      • Care to share which website you're using to determine region locking? I'm using Steam Locks. I'm unsure how accurate it is, I purchased Dying Light off Amazon and apparently it's region locked but I've had absolutely no trouble redeeming/playing (25 hrs currently), the version was US as well when it was redeemed. Tricky stuff.

  • OP, could we please have currency in the title.

    • Updated, I apologise. I don't usually make those mistakes!

      • It's these small things which make us human :)

I thought the price was AU as Gaming Dragons has it for US$35.99 including 3 DLC, I'd only just been browsing before I got the Ozbargain email.

        • That's a month later though?

        • That's a pretty good deal, I'm not one to care about DLC but that's cheap! I'm too impatient to wait until February though!

        • @leonheart1:
Physical release got pushed back outside of the US and some retailers aren't releasing their digital version of the game until the physical is released (I have no idea why), possibly because they get their key from the physical edition, who knows.

        • @kaneissik: Same, but right now I've got so many games on the go I can afford to wait. Had my eye on Lords of the Fallen as well, saw it and all it's 5 odd DLC come up on Bundle Stars for US$23.98 but I just missed the sale (damnit!).

        • @Ebany: That game looks pretty. Does it play like Dark Souls? Kind of looks like it (based on the screenshots anyhow).

  • Coupon no longer working?

    • Must have ran out. New coupon code is "20PERO-FFDIGI-GAMESX" comes to $48 US. Remember to use a VPN.
