Surfstitch have some for $73.50 with free shipping and if you wait a few days they will bring out a promo code for sale items but not not as much variety as scoopon/cotd

  • These shoes usually go for $160+ in Australia so good deal.

  • not a single sz14, fml

  • i ended up getting a par for 68 delivered, can't remember if it was glue/asos with discount voucher.

anyone paying 180 is crazy, my first 2 pairs yes, now i won't pay anything more than 120 for a pair, just me

$89.95 at COTD with free shipping if you use 'FACEBOOK500K' coupon code. Not as good as Surfstitch, I'd definitely wait for their next sale coupon as steve mentioned.

Thanks for the coupon code. I really don't need more sneakers but couldn't resist the price.

    • COTD I'm surprised people are stll buying from there.

Bad experience in the past along with so many others, they must of smartened up

  • on second note, anyone know where i can get tiger hi tops.

Eastbay have only big sizes left, but not a fan of the blue colour they had

    • Urban outfitters might every now and then. Their stock changes frequently.

      • thanks will give it a crack

Sorry guys, but this deal is a bit concerning.

    1. Some of the shoes that are listed as "Mexico 66" are definitely not, and
    2. None of these colours should be available - the season's colours are totally different.

Also of concern are the inconsistent stripes on the different shoes.

The COTD ones listed in the thread have seem fake also - the soles of the shoe are too elaborate - normally, Mexico 66 have an entirely plain, no logo sole.

    Buyer beware

    • I dunno, I'd say they're not this season's colours because a store has offloaded old stock to Catch to get rid of them - that's usually their business model.

I'm not an expert on picking fake shoes obviously, though by the looks of things they're all stock images anyway.

Whilst I understand having old stock is a good excuse, I'm now convinced the these shoes are 100% fake.

Go here http://www.hypedc.com/mexico-66-black-white.html and select the 5th picture to see what the sole looks like on legitimate Mexico 66s.

        COTD are also complete fakes.

        Going to report this deal

        • Fair enough, thanks for the heads up. I will wait until mine arrive (they have already dispatched) and will go from there.

        • @batiudrami:

Good luck, hope you get a good resolution

        • @Droz:

I'll preface with the fact that I know nothing about designer shoes but here is my 2c.

However, having a look at the Amazon Page, there appears to be a variety of styles.

Most of the shoes do not have the Onitsuka Tiger logo on the soles except for the Sky Blue version.

Neither Onitsuka Tiger's official AU site nor the Hyped DC have the Sky Blue sold on Amazon. My guess is that they do a variety of colours, laces, soles etc for seasons and for geographic locations.

Probably best to wait until people receive the items before jumping to conclusions.

        • @neil:

The logo on the bottom is an indication that they use the same sole for multiple shoe styles - a cost cutting measure which may be being employed by a fake manufacturer - some of the styles definitely do have the logo.

Noticeably the Black/White model is sold by Amazon, Hype DC and COTD but only the COTD has the different sole (it's a different pattern and has a different logo).

I have spoken to COTD and they have (of course) assured me that they are genuine but I will need to wait until I receive mine to confirm. I have several genuine pairs and apparently the leather on fakes is usually of considerably cheaper quality too so I should be able to confirm in a few days.

In the mean time I would recommend people do not buy though.

        • @batiudrami:

OK, found the shoe (albeit different sole) on the Onitsuka Tiger US website.

          What do you reckon?

          EDIT:

          Exact match from 6PM

        • @neil:

At this point I've matched two models - the black with white and white with red and blue which definitely should have the sole with no logo, though there are definitely other models which use the sole with logo.

I've tried to do some research but it's very difficult to get a straight answer. Some people are saying that there are genuine models of those specific shoes that do have the logo, but it could be fakers astroturfing. In their defence, last time COTD was suspected of selling fakes it turned out they were genuine. At this stage best I can say is wait until my order arrives, but being in Perth I imagine the deal will be over by then.

        • @batiudrami:

Take a couple of photos when ur shoes arrive and send to onitsuka's official email for verification

        • @cash8:

That's a really excellent suggestion actually.

It's really hard to find official photos of the shoes with the sole showing.
