  • Am I correct that there is only one Lobster Cave in Australia, located in Beaumaris VIC 3193?

    • It's not really a cave you know….

      • I'm pretty sure it is a cave.

        • +2

          Maybe it's more a grotto?

    • Yes that's correct

    • Just means they're being a Dick (Smith).

  • I went a few years ago, amazing place if u like seafood, definitely a good deal. I just hated how it was so far from me and I'm only 15 min from the city :(

  • So which menu can this be used on? Just the A La Carte?

What's the deal with "one voucher per booking"? I was planning to buy and pay for my parents to join me. However I have to go twice in order to use both vouchers. That seems pretty stingy by the operators.

    • Yeah it does – perhaps you can give them a call and see if they can make an exception? I've found them to be quite flexible…

Every time I see the Lobster Cave, I can't help but think back to this: http://www.theage.com.au/news/restaurant-reviews/lobster-cav… Surely the most entertaining Lethlean review ever. Maybe things have changed in the past 10 years?

    • Yes when I went in December, I found it was exceptional, so that's why I've bought it again (it's rare to find such good seafood).

      • Not that hard to find good seafood. Why not just pick up some super fresh seafood from the Queen Vic markets at one tenth of the price?

        • +1

Because nothing ruins seafood more than the awful treatment of ingredients some people think is called cooking. And washing up sucks, especially after a bad meal.

        • @blahman: Unfortunately the Lobser Cave cooking approach seems to involve slathering overcooked morsels of lobster with overpowering butter based sauces, before melting cheese on top over a grill and garnishing with curly parsley. Give me simple grilled seafood any day!

does this place actually sell lobster?

    • +2

      No they sell caves.

      • Didn't see caves on the menu either.

  • +1

The place is a little over hyped.

    Meh.

Last time I went with an Entertainment voucher.
Prices are bit high for some over rated seafood…

  • So if I had the 2x$100 cards, could I go there 3 times ordering 2x$30 lunch menu each time?

    • Anybody?

  • the last time we went to Lobster Cave the food was not horrid but definitely over-rated. most annoying part, we were offered "bread and dips" and got charged 50 bucks for it

  • Groupon has a deal on now. 3 courses for 2 people (including wine) for $69. Down from an alleged $379.
