  • pretty good

This website reminds me of the torrent site I'll be downloading this from for free.

Giving $10 to EzyFlix means I won't have to deal with Stan's "Silverlight" browser streaming. :-)

    • And not to mention their inability to play on "rooted" Android devices. Seriously, WTF?!!!

  • +7

<sigh> No thanks. DRM infected, so will not play on your HTPC, PS3 etc.
Requires the Adobe Flash virus platform. Android or IOS playback is downscaled to low-res. Jailbroken devices need not apply.
    IOS8 not supported.

Screw them. Worst part is that it does nothing to stop piracy and only inconveniences paying customers.
Why wait for this crap when a clean version will be available online earlier? You can always get the disc later.

edit: thanks Linkwick for reminding us that there are worse systems :) Though Netflix have announced they will be dropping Silverlight.

    • Tried to find DRM & streaming in their FAQs, but only could see Flash requirement mentioned.

    • Any one with a rooted android device able to use the app and view a movie / tv show? The description on the Google Play store says rooted devices not supported, but I'm able to install the app as well as run the app. I don't have an account, so didn't try streaming / viewing anything.

Also, from what I've read, it appears that downloading and archiving of the movie / tv show is possible, but playback is limited via their proprietary video player? Is anyone able to confirm this? I'm not very keen at all on installing a media player program which has only a single use.

Been using Ezyflix for a while. Works great and in HD (if available) through chrome cast to watch it on the TV.

Would prefer a PS/Xbox app though.

    • Our app is iOS 8 compatible. Thank you for letting us know, we have updated our FAQs.

well you can give them the $10, the d/l the ep elsewhere.
You're paying for the content (giving the owners some $'s), but just sourcing a high quality, non restricted version from elsewhere. I reckon they should setup a PayTheCreator.com website where people can donate to the creator of the software/music/video they've grabbed for free.

They way they're flogging this series (& cheaply), I'm guessing it's a load of crap and most won't make it ½ way through the series.

If the first episode is anything to go by, this show is another over promoted piece of junk. Found the first episode painfully boring and dull. Just my 2c.

    • +1

Yeah it was slow. EP2 comes out today. I guess breaking bad took a while to get going. I'm assuming when he changes his name it will change the character

Stan's first month free means that if you signed up tonight you can actually watch 5 episodes (that's half the season) for $0 before your CC is charged — or six if you signed up a few days later. Easier to make your mind up about the show. (I loved the first ep.)

Also, an iOS app that doesn't run on iOS 8 devices is pretty much inexcusable. As is the fact that both Android and iOS lack HD.

    • Our app is compatible with iOS 8. Thank you for letting us know, we have updated our FAQs.

    ATTN ALL:
Netflix UK apparently has the first ep available in it's library!! Will be available as episode airs in US (dunno how much delay, but can't be too long if it's available already).

    That is all. :-D

    • +2

Yes Netflix UK getting then right away… So just change your region on Getflix etc and watch if you have it.

    • Netflix UK did the same thing with breaking bad

    • Thanks for the heads up. We just switched back to the US to get some other shows so I missed that. I'll have to have a look. I had planned to use a free trial of Stan in a month or so to binge on the show once more episodes were up, but this is far better.

    • Yep, I watched the first ep last night, so it seems like it goes up pretty quickly.

  • awesome, never really use netflix UK but I guess i'll switch my UnblockUS region tonight and give it a try.

    • There's lots of good stuff on uk Netflix that isn't on the U.S. site

      • Very true, but I find it a lot harder to achieve SuperHD when hitting the UK version, but I suppose YMMV.

https://netflixaroundtheworld.com/ or the "NU for Netflix" app will help you search across different netflix regions for the shows/movies you want

        • Very useful, as quite a few English language films are only on the none English Netflix… would never find them without that service.

        • would audio be in a different language if it was from Netflix netherlands for example?

        • @Overtime2000: generally just Dutch subtitles which you could switch off

        • @Overtime2000: It can be, but before playing it you can see if English is available for the audio, or if not then I've found most of them offer English subtitles for non English language movies.

    POS requires Adobe Flash…

  • Still trying to figure out if I'm going to stick with Stan or hop to EzyFlix. Stan's trial means I get to watch half of Better Call Saul and back catalog of Dexter first!

  • That 24hr delay, ouch.
