Took the family to White Night last year.
Big mistake. Almost crushed to death at Swanston Flinders intersection.
Insane amount of people. No crowd control.
We were so tightly jammed that we could not move in any direction. Had to carry my kids as they were overcome.
Never again. The Vic Govt/Melb City Council have no idea how to manage it.
Oh, and parking was bad. If you go, park far away from city centre…

    • Lol yes terrible…we had a pram also. Total gridlock mon!

    • Complain less, and stop being greedy, you will enjoy life more. For others, just go later into the wee hours if congestion is going to be a big problem for you. Short of setting up barricades all around the city and limiting numbers, they can't stop a hugely successful and popular event from being… well, popular!

  • Good find OP… But driving into the city for this event will be a very bad idea

Well if you don't have kids and are driving, the best time is after 1am. We got there about 1:30am last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. No kids around and not much crowd. Was able to find street parking near RMIT. Heaps of events were going on even after 3am. And virtually no traffic around this time.

Anyway, +1 for this deal from me.

Exactly- don't get there till after 3am and it's amazing.
The point is that it goes all night… so you don't miss anything other than the crushing crowds

    • I guess you're right 'areustillpretty' we were in the dangerous crush around 9 PM.

  • One buck! Fantastic, thanks OP!

  • Great event, will easily pickup on the parking deal.
Go after 1AM and enjoy it alot more, Wasting your time going early, the event runs all night so why rush so much.

  • kek more like white knight

  • Do we need to specifiy the time we arrive and leave to boo this? Can I just book it for a buck and just come along whenever I like on the night.
