I've been buying from DPD for the last couple of years, their price on the Listerine Zero 1L is consistently the lowest. I buy a baker's dozen of them for the whole family to last the year + get the free shipping.

  • I buy Colgate Plax mouthwash on special at Coles and Woolworths.

They often have 250ml for $1 ($4 litre) or 500ml for $3 ($6 litre) or less.

Listerine always try for premium pricing and since I moved away for alcohol mouthwashes I never buy them again.

I tried Colgate Plax but it had a weird after taste for me. Listerine Zero is alcohol-free (I too am conscious of avoiding alcohol based mouthwashes) and I've been using it for years.

      • agree, Plax is strange for me too. not a nice 'mouthfeel' , kinda feels like a coating of oil - prob havent explained it well.

        • I find Plax great, there are multiple types.

I do miss the old Listerine burning sensation when I used it for 20 years in the alcohol versions. Here's hoping I don't get mouth cancer from that usage. It is a serious issue.

The link between alcohol-based mouthwash and oral cancers is tenuous at best.

        • @His_Holiness: .
          I agree.

    • I may or may not be looking at 15 bottles right now.

I stock on them when the sale is out, and buy the 3 dollar/500ml specials in between the 250ml specials.

  • Good post Op, thanks.

  • to be honest most people won't buy $101 of mouth rinse (13 bottles) so… $10 postage makes it pretty expensive.

    Sub Total : $7.12

  • i've never understood mouth washes. most are acidic. listerine zero is according to a litmus paper test i did a while back.

for mouth washes with flouride, supposedly you brush and then rinse with mouth wash and then spit out. for non-flouride mouth washes you do it in the reverse order (wash and then brush). either way, the aim is to have flouride left on your teeth at the end.

but your teeth are been softened by acid either after brushing or before brushing. it seems counter-intuitive.

and then the rinses try to blanket kill all bacteria in your mouth, both bad as well good.
