  • thx for exciting posts always

  • why they dont have the golden mate 7! why!!! arghhh you dicky…

  • Huawei Ascend Mate 7: 16GB or 32GB model I wonder?

    • probably 16, the golden one has 3gb ram instead of 2.

      • Yep pretty sure it's the 16GB One, the 32GB Is like $699

  • hmm is it locked?

    • Nope. Comments in Whirlpool say they got the dse version and works with other sims :) Plus Vodafone don't lock phones anymore apparently

  • wondering if I can get the different back from DSE, bought the phone on 6/02 this month for $550

    • So you can confirm it's the 16GB Version? On the Money back it's worth a try

      • Gold vision only sold at HN and JB HIFI

DSE only has low end vision which is silver colour(black front), 16G is not a big issue for me(I have LG G3 but nothing different)

I just found the DSE price matching policy, it says they only do this within 7 days of purchase…..sad.

        • +1

          I'd still try

  • Awesome phone for the price

  • Anyone have the same speakers? Hows the review?

  • The problem is the Mate 7 has been out of stock in store everywhere, so can only order online.

  • Just saw the catalog, it said 4.5" 5MP Camera lol …

BTW, it didn't say VF prepaid and no spec on it, may be we can try price match at JB for the Gold colour.

  • this dunt seem like mate 7 as the ram is only 2GB and DSE site say its Jazz can anyone confirm is this different to JB HiFi?

    • JB or HN one is 3GB Ram and 32GB Storage and as I read from Whirlpool, the 32GB one is not 100% Australia 4G compatible.

  • I didn't even see it in the catalogue, :(

    • On the Vodafone Page @ Bottom

      • +1

Sorry for silly question, where is ad exactly? On Vodafone's website or dse's. Just want to confirm + work out if it will be online or in store for myself. Thank you for your help

  • Mate7 = Jazz

    DS ver. is MT7-L09 2GB RAM: 4G cat6 B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/28

    JB/HN ver. is MT7-TL10 3GB RAM: 4G cat4 B1/3/7/38/39/40/41, TD-SCDMA B34/39

The most important, there are no SIM lock for both versions in Australia.

  • $599?

    • Start on Thursday, you can still check store stock but as far as I know no stock in store only online.

  • Weird i could not find the speaker on the catalogue :(

  • Was wondering how this phone shapes up with the htc one mate or galaxy s5. Would this phones life last at least 2/3 years?

  • If anyone confirm if this mate7 lock in vodaphone can be dual sim or single sim? as I hv been to dicksmith in store, the staff said they don't sure single or dual.

  • Is this phone from mobileciti a different phone from this Vodafone Jazz?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Huawei-Ascend-Mate-2GB-RAM-Black-…

    • This is mate not mate 7 not 4G.

  • This is a good deal. Just bought one.

    • Yes,it is a really good deal! I bought one as well. By using wish gift card, it was actually even cheaper, i.e. a further 7.5% off.

      • Is the wish gift card on another deal? You can do it online?

        • Yes, I bought wish gift cards from groupon weeks ago. Wish gift cards cannot be used in Dick Smith anymore, so I had to buy a Dick smith gift card with wish cards. Not online!

        • @imagetech:

Sydney here all I can see in online only, may be the phone available in store in other states.

    • is it available in store or online only ?? also could you kindly confirm if the packaging has a earphone included

      • +1

I believe it comes with the standard earphones and not the noise cancelling earphones.

      • +1

I am in Sydney, checked the site online only. May be in store in other states.

        • thank you guys… will order online :)

  • Yay. Bought two of these, awesome price! Thanks to trent86 and all users for info.

    • Very good price but I still couldn't convince myself for a 6" phone .. lol.

  • Looking to buy a case for the HAM7.

Really like this one however I am concerned that the metal bumper will affect the signal for calls and GPS.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Fabitoo-Super-Metal-Frame-PC-…

Any insight into this anyone or recommendations for other cases?

  • No WiFi-AC is a serious downside for me.

    • isn't this it, not too familiar with this sort of stuff :)
      Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ with Wi-Fi Direct support

      • No that's not it. Otherwise it would state Wifi A/B/G/N/AC. Shame it does look like a nice phone.

        • Ahh ok. And what is the AC mean? Just curious :)

        • @TRENT86:

It's just the nomenclature for the Wireless Internet Standard. Best to read the wiki on the subject.

  • I received mine today! Delivery was very quick!

I didnt received the silver version but black but still happy. Massive upgrade from my ancient iPhone 4S.

    • Is it Vodafone brand?

      • +1

Comes with Vodaphone sleeve. Inside is the orignal HAM7 box. Comes with vodaphone sim card and all accessories except smart case as seen in the 3GB ram model.

There are two Vodaphone apps pre-installed but I have already uninstalled it. Boot screen says Huawei and I cannot find Vodaphone branding anywhere else. Using Amaysim sim reading as YES Optus.

  • Thanks Trent86.
I bought one from Adelaide city Dick Smith today.
Planning to go overseas end of this month.
So I will be able to get the TRS as well making my total cost around $400.

It had a VF sim card inside and the box says "$40 starter pack 2GB of Data, $750 Cap Credit".
Need to give it a try this afternoon.

  • Offer ends 9th of March btw according to the site

  • Managed to get the last one in Warriewood after being told the closest one in stock was at Canberra :P

Close call but managed to get in just before closing, happy so far. Still not 100% used to the phablet size though, almost had a few drops trying to use one handed haha

    • you'll get used to the size in a week or two.
I had the same concern as it is so large compared to my previous phone.
IMO this is real good value for money.
The guy at the Adelaide city Dick Smith said that they were clearing out the stock (Vodafone branded phones).
