Missed out on the Wii U deal and thought I'd saved $318.40. Saw it today and couldn't resist. Damn you OzBargain. Damn you.

  • Yes! I thought I missed out, checked again and back in stock. Been eyeing off a 3ds xl for bravely second and xeno blade

  • So, Question Time.
Bought a new 3DS XL from Target Ebay.
Want to Trade in my Old 3DS for Monster Hunter 4 @ EB Games.
However, I will be without a 3DS until my new one arrives.

Do you think I could: Purchase a new 3DS XL from EB Games and then Return the one I receive from Target back to EB when it arrives?

    • Sounds likely but why not wait until you have the new 3DS XL before trading in your old one? It'll only be a few days (hopefully)

      • because they will only reserve a copy of the game until tomorrow :(

    • You will need the old one to transfer your data over.. if that matters to you.

      • from what I gathered, save games should be on the game cartridges?
What other data would I need to copy over?

        • +1

Don't know because I haven't had to do it :) But it was something I came across when googling the differences between the 3DSXL and the N3DSXL.. you'll need to do some google research.

        • It would be good if you posted your findings here.

        • Those games you bought from eshop and saved on your old sd card?

  • It seems the Wii U Mario Kart 8 bundle comes with Wii U Premium 32GB Console with Mario Kart 8 pre-installed and GamePad. Is that everything?

What looks to be the same bundle on the Nintendo site suggest it should come with:

    Wii U 32GB Console
    Wii U GamePad
    Wii U GamePad stylus
    Wii U GamePad Cradle
    Wii U GamePad Stand
    Wii U Console Stand
    Wii U AC Adapter
    Wii U GamePad AC Adapter
    Sensor Bar
    HDMI Cable (1.5m)

    http://www.nintendo.com.au/wii-u-hardware-features-hardware-…

    • Yes it will come with all that.

    • Also the game is not pre-installed it is the physical disc with no bar code.
Instead of a bar code it says 'Not to be sold separately', well mine did anyway.
Unless the newer ones are pre-installed

  • Hello - noob Nintendo question here - if I purchase the Wii U Mario Kart 8 bundle, what other accessories do I need to purchase in order to allow 2 person playing at once?

Is it just 1x Wii U Pro Controller ?

    • Either a Wii U Pro Controller or you can use Wii peripherals (Wii Remote by itself, Wiimote + Nunchuck or Wiimote + Classic Controller). Depends on the game as well.

      • What Ventak said. Also keep in mind that one person can use the gamepad. (I use the gamepad for everything, MK8, SSB4, etc etc etc.) And I've never found it uncomfortable, heavy, or inconvenient to use

    • Is it worth getting the Wii U just for Mario Kart 8? I've got a 4 and 6yo. Not sure if they'd enjoy it.

I'd also like some advice on comtrollers best for Mario Kart for them.

      Thanks!

      • +1

They'd love it. The controls are basic; if you just play it casually there are two buttons: Go and attack. I was about 4 and a half when I started playing the original Mariokart and hooked me on videogames in general for 18 years. As far as controls go, the best option is Pro Controllers.

As far as other kid-friendly Wii-U titles they'll love go, they will also enjoy Yoshi's Wooly World and Zelda, which both come out this year. NintendoLand is also targeted at EXACTLY that age group, and they'll get heaps of fun out of it. There is also Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, AND the ability to play the last decade of exclusive Wii games due to backwards compatibility.

Whatever you do though, do NOT buy Sonic Boom. Don't even get it for free, lol.

  • NEW STOCK 19/02

    Colour: Dark Blue.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Nintendo-3DS-XL-Console-New-F…

    Be quick, just grabbed mine.

  • Managed to snag a Black 3DS XL only to find my local EB has the Monster Hunter 3DS XL console back in stock.
Started the day with no 3DS, ended the day with 2! Hopefully Target will be cool for the refund

    • I saw eb had the MHU4 unit as well … but then thought … man another $70 on top of what I have paid …

Plus Im praying they bring out a Fire Emblem edition when it gets released later this year

But lucky you to have 2!

      • I'm hoping for a special Xenoblade or Fire Emblem edition too… but at the same time, I'm not holding my breath, and this sale/price is unlikely to be matched ever again. I hope they bring back the metallic blue, but I'll settle for metallic black too (might have to take up JakeMuzz's offer)

    • .3..3.3.3…..

  • Am i the only one who can't order this wii u ? No matter what address i put in Ebay thinks it's a PO BOX and i can't continue. Whereas using the same address on the PS3 allows me to continue. weird bug

    • If you are having the same problem, linking my paypal account to my ebay account fixed the problem

  • I'm trying to use the code but when I try to I get this message:
The redemption code can't be used for your purchase
You may have typed in your code incorrectly. Please verify your code and try again.
I've tried upper case and lower case but doesn't seem to work?

    • Same here, it says the same thing :( Help!

      • the code is working again - just tried it :)

  • Thanks. Picked up two earlier this morning. That is a couple of gifts sorted out. I myself have a Zelda XL 3DS :)

  • Said I'd pull the trigger once the Wii U comes under $350 and this is that! Just purchased, $318 to good to pass up, time to morph back to my younger year and start enjoying Nintendo again!

  • Anyone know if there will be any restocks on the 2DS Bundle before this deal ends?

    • I would doubt it, it's a clearance line and they only have 2 left on the actual Target website.

That link is sold out, but I nabbed one this morning for my sons birthday here:
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/181647364118

      • Link I provided was for the Dark Blue, was still in stock when I went to bed last night, must have sold out overnight!

But it looks like the Black is back in stock again!

  • Yes! Got one! Was waiting for the "Original" 3DS XL to go under $200 before I bought one, so to get a brand new "New" 3DS XL for under $200 is bloody excellent!

  • Can you order on their eBay online store and pick it up from a physical store?

    • No. You can try to price match it at a Target store though but it depends on the staff and whether they want to do it for you or not.

      • Ok thank you, will give it a try.

  • Thanks Op, great buy.

  • My 3ds xl arrived today!! Whoop whoop

  • Had the black one in my eBay cart but browser crashed and when I logged back on, it was empty and out of stock :( Hoping it gets re-stocked before the deal ends..

    • same with me…

  • A guy named platinum in another post has posted his receipt up. He's managed to get a target to price match the eBay Store on a new 3ds XL. I'll be giving it a shot tomorrow if the item doesn't come back into stock. But here's the picture for all to use. Again, thank to Platinum. I don't know of how to link to your profile, but you're amazing!

    • Wonder if eBay is stumping up the promo costs or if it is shared with Target.

  • When they say it ends on the 22nd, does it mean that in about 2 hours, it will finish, or tomorrow's the last day?

    • +1

This offer commences at 07.00 (AEST) on 18 February 2015 and ends at 23.59 (AEST) on 22 February 2015 (“Offer Period”).

      It ends tomorrow night. :)

    • +1

I'd suggest Feb 22nd is included.

  • Bundle includes: Wii U Premium 32GB Console with Mario Kart 8 pre-installed and GamePad.

Wii U Premium Console: Discover a new and exciting way to enjoy home entertainment with the Nintendo Wii U - Nintendo's next home console. Featuring the revolutionary new Wii U GamePad, which removes the traditional barriers between games, players and the TV by creating a second window into the videogame world!

so can someone confirm if this is

-Mario Kart 8 pre-installed or disc?

    • Pre installed. I think the older bundle came with disc when i got it from kmart but newer one according to nintendo website is preinstalled. http://www.nintendo.com.au/wii-u-hardware-features-hardware-…

      • so it uses how much of the 8gb memory?

        also this sucks then…can't resell

and also waste some of your storage

        • so it uses how much of the 8gb memory?

The Premium model comes with 32GB?

Mario Kart 8 is about 4.9GB.

If you're concerned about storage, just plug in an external source of storage such as external hard drives or even USB flash drives. Note Nintendo doesn't officially recommend flash drives but I've had no issues whatsoever.

        • @IceCreamBandit:

you sure we can move the game onto the usb?

        • @tyler.durden:

          Don't see why you can't move a pre-installed game.

I had smaller games that were downloaded to the console, which I then moved to the USB with no problems.

I'm about 90% sure that you'll be able to move to USB.

  • Wii u all sold out now :( finally decided to buy one …went to check out and they were gone!

  • 3ds xl received today

Ordered and shipped on the 18th

  • Got mine today. Now what can I do with it. What is the recommended game to buy for this?

    • +1

I'd personally recommend Fire Emblem : Awakening, but that's my personal preference because I'm a Fire Emblem fanboy.

I know a lot of people bought the 3DS literally just to play Super Smash Bros, so you could try that. It's insanely popular and good to play with friends.

      • Great review. Thanks.

    • This is the joy of the 3ds … there is actually quite a large selection of games

Go nuts and try them all.

Personally I have loved many … Professor Layton, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, SSB, Monster Hunter, Zelda .. even the Lego ones which I play off and on with my boy

Check eBay and here often for bargains to be had!

Cancelled my order informing me they are out of stock despite still selling the product online.

  • Got my shipping notice yesterday!

Just got my New 3DS XL today and it rocked up as a BLUE one when I purchased a black one

    • I ordered a black unit but I wouldn't mind (considering that I really wanted) the blue version.

      • Yer I didnt mind

        • Metallic blue? Nice.
