THANK you OP!!! Been waiting for a deal like this since after Christmas!

    Phillip J Fry

    • It delivers

  • We have got the bigger model and I must say this thing cooks amazingly good!

  • 13 units sold in an hour. Power of ozbargain.

  • Noob question: is this any better than putting things in an oven? Or a fan-forced oven? Or my convention oven?

    • +2

pretty much the same as an oven, but uses considerably less power (depending on your oven model ofc) as its a smaller space to heat up

Can't really comment which is better but Convection Microwave with Grill should be able to do same thing as an airfryer.

    • I bought one and took it back the next day. We didn't like it.

So theres a used one sitting on the shelf?

        • Ask the good guys

A deal on the XL version is also needed

    • The lowest price I've seen so far was $280 at MYER. For $320 at Target is not really a deal.. I think

    • Kogan has pre-order for their own brand one in the larger size but 2000watts (more power than the philips brand) so may be worth a look?

Same code will work on XL version as well

will this thing cook spring rolls with the same crunchy texture as being deep fried? and does it cook dim sims with the same bubbly crunchy texture as deep fried?

(as you can probably tell with my questions, I only deep fry spring rols and dim sims…LOL)

I have the small one. Not as good as actual frying. The pastry is a bit hard, not light and crispy. They recommend you spray a little oil first. Could just be my poor cooking skills haha. Would like to hear if anyone got better results.

Great for non-cooks. Best thing I made was lamb cutlets. So easy, just salt and pepper and threw it in for 14 minutes. Delicious!

      • As an ozbargainer - what price are you paying for your lamb cutlets?

They are by far my favorite cut of meat, but often find it difficult to justify unless they are on special i.e. last year at coles they were $16 (reduced from typical $32).

        • Once they were so good price in Australia, now mostly exported to the oil rich - sorry to the new generation who most likely eat only off cut full of fat or never try lamb.

Find it cheaper to have lamb cutlets in fine restaurant than buying ingredients from big supermarkets - which is a rip off.

I usually get it at Woollies when it's on special, usually $19-20/gk instead of $30+. I agree, it's expensive but I balance that with the rest of the week's food budget. To me, it's worth it. I usually do it on the nights when I really can't be bothered to cook (and would probably end up with a gross takeaway) or I plan it for dinner after the busiest work day, as a treat.

  • How quick are thes things compared to using an oven?
We don't own a fryer at all but occasionally cook spring rolls of potato chips in the oven which takes around 20 minutes to do.

  • Just thought I post this. There was a deal on this last year I think and they should be back in stock mid next month according to them.

Yeah, I have a friend who bought cheapo eurochef brand from ebay for $100 delivered and it seems to work just as well as my philips airfryer.

  • I had one, used it a few times, then returned to the regular method of cooking.

I don't know why this has been marked as expired, the code still works for me and the air fryer is still on stock

    • Just got one too but only as they have just restocked again this morning
