Was at Asko today and they are having a pretty big warehouse sale. All the goodies are on special, dishwasher, washing machines, condenser dryers, rangehoods, cooktops, ovens and others.

Lot of the stuff looked brand new. Heaps of everything. Prices are pretty good considering Asko and the likes rarely have discounts.

  • Thanks, need a new rangehood :)

Can anyone recommend a good carpenter and installer in VIC(Melb CBD)?

  • Need a dishwasher, anyone recommend an ASKO dishwasher model?

    • My parents have an ASKO dishwasher that's been running great for over 10 years. Quiet, cleans quickly (they use the 38min cycle most of the time). I'm sure all their models are great.

    • Even the base model ones are very good.

    • Main thing I remember the base models missing was a delay timer which we use regularly.

      • I'll check it out, I've never used the delay timer for the dishwasher- maybe useful for those on off peak power.

I only use delay timer on the washing machine so clothes don't sit wet overnight.

  • Never heard of this brand… any good or cheap crap.

mid to top of the range. Made in Europe.

      • Swedish actually :)

      • Are they still? When I see things like Inspired by Scandinavia I generally expect the subtext to read Made in China.

        • All the stuff is designed in Sweden. Some of it is made in Slovenia and some in Sweden.

        • Swedish inspired but now made in Slovenia

        • @biglethal:

Didn't know that, I got 2 Asko dishwashers approx 2 years ago.

Both were made in Sweden, proudly printed on the front panel.

  • Dishwashers are generally of high quality mainly due to the stainless steel spraying arms.

Probably worth noting it is factory seconds, scratched, dented and ex-display stock (and guessing that means refurbished warranty repairs also).

That said, have an Asko dishwasher been using for many years, no complaints.
(Well one small complaint, top and side panels were optional extras and while I have it installed under an island bench its not a problem to look at but I feel it would be a little quieter if they were on it.)

  • This is a bit of a drive for me to get there. I don't suppose anyone can give an indication of the type of prices they have for washing machines?

Didn't look for long but took a snapshot of a w6444 washing machine, RRP 1499 Selling for 799. The image I uploaded was of the 10 kg big front loading RRP 1999 selling for $1399. These machines had no dings on them.

  • I bought a dishwasher at there sale last year, it was a refurb every thing works fine except the front leg adjustment. they sent some out to "fix it" not the best fix but it works fine. $500 off retail price seem to be the standard discount on the things i looked out.

  • We have an Asko clothes dryer sill working after 20 years. The machine stated to become noisy. So we looked around on the net to buy a new one but the price started at around $1500 for the new Asko dryers.

We ended up replacing the drum rollers and drive belt. Which was all that was needed to be replaced after opening it up and the dryer is as good as new.

  • My dishwasher has recently broken (water doesn't drain). Had repair guy look at it and it's not worth fixing.

I'm in NSW- can anyone recommend a cheap place to buy?

  • too bad not in Sydney :(

  • Been there today and got an absolute bargain on a complete kitchen remodel. Induction cooktop, Pyro oven and concealed range hood. Great Bargains if you get in quick.

Hey Soyea, what sort of prices were the washing machines??

    • Washing machines are around $400-$500 cheaper than the Asko website

    • They range I saw was from 799 to 1499 for the 10kg.

  • Lots of stuff on Whirlpool about Asko products, they have a bit of fanbase over there - http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum/138?&g=224

  • Anyone head down there today? How's the range?

  • Went there today 30 minutes after opening time, apparently lots of people went yesterday and bought stuff.
Still plenty of bargains to be had!
Picked up a dishwasher, dryer and washing machine and saved myself $1700

    • Which model dishwasher did you get and what's the price range? Cheers

      • I got the D5544XXLFI for $1199
They had plenty of dishwashers just not many of that model, I got one of the last ones.

$500 discount was around the average
