I'm not a fan of the Conia brand, no matter what price it is.

never go with Conia, I had a bad experience with Conia TV.

    • +1

the last conia importer has gone

    • +1

My experience with Conia is not favourable but this is fairly good value in terms of a bargain.

  • +2

U need to put the postage which is $49.95

Find it weird they don't say its warranty

And the wall mount there advertising cost a lot for delivery will cost $99.90 for it delivered to WA. Can get them off ebay for around 50 bucks delivered.

You can get TV from stores from this price and quality

    So neutral for me

    • Warranty is 12 months

    • +4

Full price is $548.95 which should be in the title…

    • Make sure there is warranty, with my experience with conia you will sure need it sooner rather than later.

  • At Whirlpool its claimed in July: "Conia went bust about 3 months ago. (Pebble Electronics Pty Ltd)"

So you would be relying on COTD to give you the warranty AFAIK. I would double check though as you still might be able to return it another way.

this is the cheapest i have ever seen a new full hd 32"

  • If you're happy with 720p, then JB Hi-Fi still has the $498 Soniq with 3 x HDMI until tomorrow:

You do have to admit however that $549 for this Conia is probably the cheapest 32" Full HD to date…

    Bad reviews: http://www.productreview.com.au/showitem.php?item_id=2988&ne…

Only 2 stars out of 5. Most reviews say it stops working within 5 months, and sometimes even creates smokes.

Erm, that's a completely different model, not to mention completely different looking. These ones on COTD are CL3201FHD and CL3201FHDDVD, while that is CLCD3220 and only 1366 x 768. The first review on your link was from 2005. I really doubt this model is anywhere near that old.

      • lol…I didn't even notice. I just copied and pasted in google. I can tell you it won't be much different. Conia is cheap, cheap means crap. (most of the time)

        • cheap means don't expect a sony

        • crap of the day

          • -1

            @phliu: lol … I totally agree … +1 from me …

it is very crap indeed … and expensive too for a crappy brand

  • just spend $200 more and get a Samsung/LG/Toshiba (720p though)

    • just spend double to get a brand name 1080p equivalent

    LOL … CONIA?

For $549 including postage … there are amble better choices out there …

Just about anything is better than a CONIA ..

Avoid is what i will say ..

Can't believe there are people who actually vote this positive???

They are selling you a TV where the maker has gone bust!

A negative vote for me .. for preying on the innocent.

LOL .. can you see how THICK it is?? geezz … just about the width of my brick WALL ..
thats why they call this a brick …

LOL no. 2 … Built-in DVD drive??? WOW!! i really want a DVD drive now (NOT!).. when BluRay is becoming the norm!!

    • Been looking around for a full hd 32" tv. Where can i get one cheaper… delivered?

      • Cheaper isn't always better, it might cost you more in the long run in terms of warranty etc.

Everyone wanting to get a set should find out exactly what's included in the warranty, and how you'd go about getting things fixed in th event that it blows up.

    • lol

  • Looks like Melburnians are subsidising the rest of the country big-time, in terms of shipping costs for this item.

    • -3

Lets not blame it on the rest of Australia.

Its quite obvious that COTD is OVERCHARGING for its shipping!

It doesn't cost $49.95 to ship a TV this size anywhere in Australia!

I assume you do know that they make sizable profit from "shipping costs" right?

      If not, now you do!

Try asking them what is the TRUE shipping costs.
They will probably explain the difference using the excuse of "handling fees"…
what a load of crap .. you dont see a retail store charging you e.g. $20 for going to the back of the store to retrieve an item for you!

  • My Conia Tv bought from COTD still works well. 2 years old now. :D
It's only 1366 x 768 and with Digital receiver at that time.

  • I got a Conia 32 inch when Catch of they day sold them last time and I havent has any issues!! Altho flicking between chanels takes a drop longer than on a sony or panasonic i still love it for that price range!

I was thinking this was a good deal, cheapest price for a Full HD 32" LCD with built in tuner i've seen by a fair bit. But based on the various comments on this page about Conia's quality, and the fact that the warranty is only 12 months, means i'd be too scared to buy one. Plus it's $550 with postage.
$550 is not a lot of money for a 1080p 32" LCD, but it is a lot of money for something that only lasts a year or 2.

I'd rather pay an extra $450 and get a Sony 32" 1080p LCD with Bravia 3 Engine, with 3yr warranty for $996.

    http://catalogues.bigw.com.au/portal/offerdetails/sony_bravi…

I'm not saying that i believe name brand quality for a higher price is always the way i'd go, but with the reviews of the Conia brand on this page, i think the Sony is much better value.
Anyone know of any other name brand 32" Full HD LCD's with built in HD tuner that are cheaper than the Sony? Most of them that i've seen are only 720p.

  • I bought a 50" Conia about two years back from COTD, still going strong, no troubles at all.

    • likewise, mine has had no issues.

  • sold out anyway…

  • I used to work at an electrical retailer that sold Conia. Absolutely the worst crap I've ever sold. When Conia were still around, it was difficult enough to get any sort of warranty service ("Send your set-top-box to Melbourne and we'll fix it and mail it back to you; don't take it back to the retailer" - that's what some very valued customers of mine were told!). The majority of people buying it would require warranty service. Swapping over two Conia DVD recorders in as many days was not fun. Swapping over two Conia plasmas within 12 months with the same problem was also not fun. And I lost count of the number of little caravan LCDs that came back as DOA with dead pixels, dead tuners, or dead remotes.

If you've ever seen footage of Australia Day fireworks you will have seen Conia products - instead of buying fireworks, they instead shoot Conia stereos into the air. They're almost deadly.

I agree with the previous poster - this isn't Catch Of The Day, it's Crap Of The Day. I'm sorry to be telling this to people who are happy with their Conia TVs, but you're very much in the minority.
