Canon Pixma MP980 Today Only at Harvey Norman for Only $222

80

From Whirlpool:

"Harvey Norman have a Canon Pixma MP980 for $222.

Is in their "Sale that stops a Nation" sale until Tuesday (or stocks run out I guess).

I picked one up yesterday at Lake Haven store and they had 6 left at that time.

Cheapest on Staticeice is $329 @ MSY."

Strangely from the reviews it seems to print text worse than the cheaper models, but it's main added feature is negative / slide scanning which it does very well.

    That's a good price!

  • Holy $%^&!!!
That's a fantastic price for the top-of-the-line Canon inkjet printer/scanner…
I have an "older model" MP970 which has all the bells and whistles, but I think this one has w'less networking AWA ethernet.
edit: confirmed - the MP980 has w'less (+ optional bluetooth)

MP980 will be replaced by MP990. Still a very good price though.

  • and set yourself up with a Rihac continuous ink system and you have very cheap printing

  • I got one of these, hardly use it and it STILL chews thought the ink like there is no tomorrow. the Grey is hard to find and sold out a bit.

wireless scanning is a pain to get going with windows 7, i still haven't got it up…(if anyone does let me know, havent tried since seven was released and still running the RC though they may have released new drivers.) on the upside wireless printing is pretty easy in 7…

CIS systems don't go to well with them either as they are an enclosed unit.

the negative scanning is pretty cool. and they are an ok printer, just burn though the ink a bit to much.

we paid much more almost a year ago.

set of genuine ink for it will set you back approx 130 bux (@22 bux each from dick smiths powerhouse more from officeworks /hardly normal.) couldn't find grey at the swap meets either.

almost worth buying another one just for the ink as your only paying 100 for the printer then!

  • Get the compatible chipped inks at the markets. It'll only cost you $5-$6 each.

    • Thanks for the info, managed to pick one up today at officeworks for the same price, as HN was closed yesterday due to Melb Cup. I have the mp780 and its a dam good printer, so I am sure this one will be just as good. :)

  • Wat the… @_@
    Now its going up $449.00!!!
Wondering who gonna buy it now…they can keep in their warehouse :)

  • Power when I spoke to HN today apparently they have it on sale for 387.00 but I mentioned the ad, even though the sale had finished and the best price I could get was 260 so I say if you want one, check out OW or bargain with them at HN…
    Hope that helps :)

    • Nah! I'm happy with my old printer…just curious to check out the price today.
