Logitech T650 Wireless (Non-BT) Trackpad - $28 (about 30% Cheaper than Cheapest Normal Price) @ Harvey Norman

70

Very good price on the Logitech T650 trackpad. Cheapest other price I could find on Staticice was $41. Gets good reviews online.

You can order and then pick up in store free of charge or get delivery for $5.95 (at least that's how much it was to me in Melbourne CBD.)

UPDATE: this is not the Bluetooth version of the Logitech trackpad unfortunately; it still requires a USB dongle.

BUGGER, didn't notice that! :( Thanks for pointing out - I've updated the listing.

    • Can you use the same dongle as a mouse / keyboard?

It uses a logitech unifying dongle

    • Almost bought it but they jacked up the price. In the Ozbargain spirit, no buy it was!

  • Anyone come across a touchpad for PC that are synaptics compatible? I have a handwriting software but need synaptics to work.

  • Does this work with Windows' native handwriting recognition?

  • Does it work on a Mac?

    • I know a lot of people were complaining the BT Mac one doesn't have drivers for Windows and the Windows one doesn't have drivers for the mac.

  • Bought 2 when it was on $24.

It by default works like a mouse, which you can move the cursor and press down the whole panel to send mouse clicks. It also supports default guestures on windows 8. But the guestures cannot be re-configured.

You can update it to the latest firmware (you need a windows machine for the upgrade), and it would support "tap to click" on windows and Ubuntu.
However, the tap-and-click does not support mac, which is pretty annoying. Pressing the whole panel down needs too much effort, if you have thin fingers like me…not to mention drag and drop would be a nightmare.

Speaking of touching, it is quite smooth and sensitive, can match magic touchpad under osx.

So if you want a touchpad, but only use it on windows/linux, I think it is a quite good choice.

It is using the logitech unifying receiver-meaning it is compatible with other logitech mouse/keyboards.

Last thing is it does not support bluetooth, and not as good as magic touchpad under osx. Logitech T651 seems to be the sibling that works for osx with bluetooth. Never used it and cannot comment.

All in All, consider it as a mouse. It only sends some pre-defined gestures(which will be translated into special key combinations to win/linux). It is far from wacom/synaptic touchpads, which provides more recognition features. The firmware of T650 has not been updated for quite a while, and I think it is not likely that Logitech will add support to more features like handwriting recognition.
