Not sure if this is a deal or not Cathay Pacific's Australian site shows prices nearly double those in this English link. https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_GB/flightoffer.flights-t… but i am not sure if you can do trip starting in and returning to Australia for the same price.

    I did a few searches for multiple periods (summer, winter, fringe winter, fringe summer) from Perth to London and got exactly zero fares anywhere near the 531GBP price. The cheapest flights I found were around 840GBP, hardly something to write home about.

        I was doing London>Perth (my post above was incorrect). Going direct from that page to 'buy', it prefills the destination, so you can't actually change the directions.

      The fares are from the UK to Australia return. Hence, useful for those based in the UK. Works out to be about 1100 AUD return from the UK.

      Hot UK deals says it is a deal, so I'm willing to bet it is. Probably less so for us in Australia.

    For those regularly visiting the UK, purchase a one way there and thereafter purchase UK - OZ flights. I know numerous people that use this.

      Done that in the past… On business class the difference was huge for the same flights. I was getting business class from the UK return for not a huge amount more than economy return from here… Good old Australia tax.

      That was a few years ago now though.

    If you're using other means to get to the UK, one way MAN-SYD for £292.5 or about $574 is still pretty fantastic.
