          Nothing cheap will touch the hero 4 black… this and the SJ5000+ are targeted towards the hero 3. No reviews on this but paper specs seem similar to the SJ5000+, which is one of the best chinese budget cams. The sony cameras are good aswell but they're pricier.

      In official Xiaomi stores in China at that price. Xiaomi have no plans to sell this internationally, which means to obtain internationally, you must go to resellers like GeekBuying (which also includes postage).

    I'd still wait for some reviews to come out. Specs for these cameras can look good on paper but in the end it's going to be all about what the video looks like. Although for the price does smash the gopro

      Yep, need reviews i.e. from Techmoan. This cam is more in direct competition with those SJCAM action cams rather than GoPro due to similar price. One omission is the lack of LCD screen.

    Any confirmation if the software will be in english when released? I havent done much research on other China only Xiaomi products but isnt the Xiaomi Yi (dropcam rip) only in chinese? Also the software is only for android at the moment but plan to release iOS software in April.

    I hope the software for this actioncam is in english when it hits the shelves as irrally want one but i doubt it will :(

      Normally if Xiaomi doesn't release the Apps in English, then the community will unofficially do it. Currently Xiaomi is working on translating a lot of their apps and devices, so this might be too.

    Looks and sounds very much like the SJ4000 WiFi…? About the same price too. TechMoan has some great camera reviews if you're in the market.

      Actually the spec is better than SJ4000, as it has Ambarella A7 chipset and using Sony Exomer lens. It's a closer competitor to SJ5000+.

      i like the white too, but they are '3d rendered' images, not the actual product. so the actual item may differ in colour appearance

    How are so many people on OzB okay with paying MORE than full price? I get how Xiaomi works, I get its a new release. But it's not a bit more, its 40% more expensive than its retail. Just knowing that I paid well over price would be enough for me to only end up half enjoying it. Doesn't that irk anyone else a bit?

    I own this camera ten days ago and maybe the first one on YouTube unboxing it, fully testing it, so now I answer some of you guy's questions:
