Not really a 6Gbps drive, but a 0.5Gbps drive attached to a 6Gbps SATA controller. Still reasonably pretty fast for consumer drive, its hard to find an actual 6Gbps drive that isn't an Enterprise Grade RAID. At $199 US, this is what you'd expect to pay for what ever second rate 480GB SDD was cheapest at the time, so this seems like a reasonable deal.

How many people need to be told Gbps and GBps are different before it finally sticks?

Well with over 300K babies born in Australia last year, quite a few. btw, while you're could you also tell people to stop spelling gaol the American way, at the very least ask them to say prison so they don't look totally uneducated. Oh, and convince the Greens that shutting down every coal mine in this country would actually be a bad thing, economy crash and all that. Tnx in advance.

      • Oops, I know they are different, so I have no idea why I wrote that. Take a +1. Actual performance is between of the drive is 4-5Gbps which is less than the controller, but pretty close.

Do you think this version would be better made then the Extreme version as it gets bad reviews at amazon for manufacturing quality

Those cheap SSD speed will reduce greatly over time depends on how heavily been used. How is the "3 Year OWC Limited Warranty" cover it.

You buy a SSD for its speed right. But remember, SSD is a one-time use thing.
