Aldi: Human Skeleton Model 85cm (33.5 inches) $49.99

780

Looks like a decent bargain for this size model compared to Amazon and anatomywarehouse.com ($166.43 "economy" shipping to Oz).

Yes, this is the bare bones model and this post could do with some fleshing out etc.

I'll go out on a limb and challenge anyone to find a lamer bone pun than this one

    • +18

Don't wager an arm and a leg on it.

    • +19

Aldi's really cutting profits to the bone.

      I find this humerus.

Ladies and Gentlemen - we have a winner in my mind, but that's tibia xpected from a quality contributor like scrimshaw3

        • +9

          no bones about it.

      • +3

        @ scrimshaw

That agreed with my funny bone. Tickled it and my ribs.

  • +17

Let me just Muscle in here and say this post is Tendon on the light side. Needs to have a bit more meat on the bones. Truth of the matter it doesn't have the heart. Have had a gut full of these ones.

just tagging this for punny posts

All these puns are getting under my skin..

you get a neg for this, and yet the "boner" comment under you gets almost 30 + votes. What is the world coming to, turnip ?

        • The what under her? Oh, i see now.

  • +26

This deal is giving me a boner!

    • +13

      lolz

I have one of these (the skeleton, not the boner) in my dining room.
GF got it from Typo I think for around $80. We use him as a hat holder. Oh, he is around 170cm tall, so double the height of this deal.

EDIT: damn google is fast - I found my own comment above in a Google search 1 minute after posting it, when trying to find a link to the Typo one. And this deal is only minutes old.

      • +5

Nothing wrong with having a boner in the dining room.

      • More likely your browser (Chrome?) searching recently viewed pages too.

That's almost like deja vu. But I'm sure I've told you that before, haven't I?

If this is giving you a boner, imagine what its going to do to Dick SMith

Can you park him in the passengers seat for a transit lane.

If pulled over you can say you were going to your mates funeral…

I use to have a set of real skeleton in my bed room. It is not legal to import them to Australia anymore.

    • +32

Not legal to make your own either..

      • +4

I have no idea the past history of my set. He was 1.6m tall. He taught me a lot and I taught him nothing.

        • +10

I bet you showed him a thing or two though

        • @DrDuck: Yes but he has no senses, no recall ability either.

    • +2

At least you didn't have to make it breakfast in the morning.

    • +2

What the hell do you do with a real skeleton when you are done with it? Is there a secondhand market for them? It's not like you can just put human bones out with rubbish.

      • +3

you simply become the best friend of every dog in the neighbourhood

    • I've got a few skeletons in my closet

Be warned; this guy will not stop asking you to go to parties with him. He's always gone to parties alone in the past because he had no-body to go with.

    • +3

Yeah, but watch out. He's a skinflint, always wanting to elbow his way in and skull someone else's drinks for free. Soul-less really.

  • it's actually a skeleton from a child.

    • A fallen child slave from [insert some country here]

  • +10

Did you know?: The average human body makes enough bones to make an entire human skeleton.

  • You guys have all bitten more than you can chew….is there anything left humerus about it..No body is laughing..

      On-topic:
Aldi are an esteemed grocery retailer and I am quite sure that they wouldn't sell something like this. Frozen spare-ribs, maybe. OP should update the post with the flavours of sauce they're available in. Plum? Barbecue? Both??

Isn't it weird, how certain things remind you of certain other things..?
      Sometimes.
      Pleasingly so.

I've got a bone to pick with Aldi.
I wanted one but they couldn't find the key to the cabinet. I said can't you just use a skeleton key?
Then the checkout chick tried to tell me Calcium was the 21st element! I told her that's not an atomically correct answer.
It all took ages because being a public holiday there was only a skeleton crew working there.

I think these skeletons are the remain from Apple factory in China. I have heard workers have been exploited to death. When dried and at the right time, they packed it up for Aldi.

    • well played!!!

    • I know Chinese people are generally* shorter in stature than Australians, but 85cm??!! Maybe Apple only employs dwarves in China?

      Australia 178.4 cm (5' 10.2") 163.9 cm (5' 4.5")
      China (PRC) 164.8 cm (5' 4.9") 154.5 cm (5' 0.8")

I found these numbers in an article from 2008. No idea when the information was obtained.

*there are exceptions of course and the huge population is going to throw up many "outliers". The tallest woman known to medical history was Chinese - she was 248 cm.

Think a modern version of oomph loompas, with Steve Jobs (rest his iSoul) dressed as Willy Wonka

        • lol
Or it could be from child labour. Worked them to the bone.

        • Think…Steve Jobs (rest his iSoul) dressed as Willy Wonka

Can't think - no turtleneck, no Steve.

Think a modern version of oomph loompas,

Your comment has plenty of oomph, but autocorrect left you with no oompa.

      • +2

You just uncovered a dark secret. You can fit more dwarves into a dorm room, and since they're smaller you can pack more of them into the plant, and as they're smaller they take less to feed and clothe, and they also work just as fast as regular sized workers. You won't get in trouble with child labour laws either.

You'd be silly not to employ an army of dwarves for your next electronics factory.
