    • Same here

    • Same here… Thanks easternculture :)

      • Works for 520, does not work for the 635 I bought in Dec 2014.
So I guess phone must be at least 1 year old or something.

        • Thanks for the info. Yeah, my 520 was bought a while back, could be more than 12 months ago.

I can confirm this works for this 635. The code didn't automatically send to me though. You'll need to manually check on the status link (on the email they send you when you submit). I checked after waiting for a day. Now using it on Virgin 4G.

Looked fantastic until I saw that it has no front camera. My selfies are too important to give up. flicks hair

  • Thank you OP, just ordered one!

    Purchased

  • In for two… Interesting to see if they're usable!

  • just got email, order has been shipped. Thanks op.

  • @viki8702 did u choose normal shipping? mine is still not shipped :(

    • yeah normal shipping.

    i got this today:

Returned 3/14/2015 3:26:09 PM Edison US
Received at i-Parcel 3/14/2015 12:17:43 PM Edison US
Your shipment has content that are not permissable for export. Please contact the internet retailer 3/14/2015 10:19:56 AM
Package details received electronically from Seller 3/14/2015 9:15:55 AM

    • So none of the phones would be shipped to Australia.:(

      • Guessing it has to do with airmail & lithium batteries on passenger flights?

        • I have ordered a couple of phones before and never had this problem. I guess the batteries should not be a problem but could be because it is a prepaid phone with a SIM and those cannot be exported out of the country.

    • I haven't received this email yet. Anyone else received it?

      • they didnt send any email.. i just checked the tracking info on i-parcel…

apparently, it is because of the Li-ion battery.

  • My brand new paperweight has left the seller facility and arrived at a the carrier facility according to the tracker. No mention of the FU attitude, yet.

  • "Your package was refused at delivery. It is being returned to Amazon. You will be refunded for the original shipment within 2-3 days business days after we receive it."

    Sad :-(

    • Mine says it is on it's way? Finger crossed!

      Tracking Details:
Tuesday, March 17, 2015, Edison NJ US Package has left the carrier facility
Saturday, March 14, 2015, Edison NJ US Package arrived at a carrier facility
Saturday, March 14, 2015, Breinigsville PA US Package has left seller facility and is in transit to carrier

      • Lucky you. Mine got canned by iParcel as well. Screw iParcel.

        • You will never know. It may be a brand new paperweight like fritz and Sauce said

    • Same here. Looks like i-parcel is being shitty about this, I wonder if Amazon chat support can help with anything in this case.

    • I got the same and now they have processed a replacement which should be arriving on Thursday

    • To update - I followed what others have done and requested it to be resent. Amazon was really quite good at resolving this and (via DHL) the phone arrived within 2 days (!!). A couple of hours later it was unlocked and I found myself thinking I should of bought more.

Compared to the similarly priced (unlocked) Lumia 530, the screen is larger and much better. It does 4G and feels a bit more premium. The OS runs just as smoothly on both, as does the offline turn-by-turn navigation, media playback and internet browsing.

Really, for around the $50 mark delivered, I consider these as an absolute bargain - thanks again OP!

got them to ship to me again with priority shipping and they refunded the difference! noice!

    • Thanks for the tip, got them to do the same for me as well.

    • yeah bro cheers for the heads up

    • Do you see new shipping carrier when checking order status?

      • yep, DHL

      • DHL… ordered on friday. expected delivery on monday. My experience with DHL is that they usually do deliver on the expected date they state. WIN :D

  • My delivery has been "Returned to Sender". According to UPS iParcel service "Your shipment has content that are not permissable for export. Please contact the internet retailer"

  • Also got them to resend this item with free priority shipping. Spoke to them on Saturday, item expected arrival is Thursday.

To anyone interested, I received this phone today, put in a request to AT&T using the link and received an email that needed my confirmation and just got the unlock code. Put in my Telstra SIM and it works!!

Took a chance and got it just before the deal expired and looks like after the new legislation changes, unlocking has become easy.

    • +1

      does it work on 4G

      • Well when I unlocked it, the network did change to 4 and then back to just the signal strength. Didn't have too much time to play with, away for a couple of days. Also forgot to say thanks EC for the deal, a bargain at the price.

    • nice

    • Finally I received mine. Looks like a solid phone and responsive. How long does it take to receive unlock code? Mine says still in progress.after sending the confirmation.

      • +1

        generally 2 - 4 hrs

        • Thanks EC. Hopefully they may be able to unlock as my IMEI start with 35304xxx and three are issues.

      • +1

@azm, to receive the first email about 12 hours but the next was quick.

        • Thanks EC and jdf. I received my confirmation email instantly. But for the device unlock, it took 6 hours. Finally it is unlock and it is a nice phone for such a cheap price.

        • @azm:

          Your welcome

Can you tell us if it works on 4G in Australia and confirm with Speedtest.net app

Im just gathering facts as im sure it will drop down to same price again in the coming weeks as MS needs to clear stock for new model

        • +3

@easternculture: I am using it as a spare phone (no data left) but I got Optus 4G coverage for both Melbourne CBD area and outer suburbs. I will check the speedtest later.

        • @easternculture: FYI, Speed Test and LTE
It is even better than my iphone bandwidth

        • @easternculture: hey ec, didn't you get one or waiting for it to fall further in price ;)

        • @jdf:

didnt need one. Maybe next time around for sure

        • @easternculture: Can also confirm Telstra 4G coverage in Melbourne CBD (and obviously no problem with unlock!). Comes with USB charger, AT&T GoPhone microsim, and user guides (no el cheapo earbuds).

For around the same price as the network locked Lumia 530s from Woolies/Big W, the 635 has far superior clearblack LCD display, 4G and is unlockable!

Thanks for the great deal EC!

        • @Jackal:

          Your welcome .

Thanks for confirming it working with telstra 4G. Ive updated the OP for future reference if this phone becomes available again for same price

        • @easternculture:

Seems it works on virgin as well :)

          zeroxp on 24/03/2015 - 12:16
I can confirm this works for this 635. The code didn't automatically send to me though. You'll need to manually check on the status link (on the email they send you when you submit). I checked after waiting for a day. Now using it on Virgin 4G.

        • @Jackal:

          Good Stuff. Virgin is Optus

    • so you choosed non AT&T customer option while putting unlocking request?

      • Yes, it is.
        (1) ATT and option "non AT&T Mobility Customer" and input IMEI
        (2) You will receive a confirmation email. I received mine immediately after sending a request. You will need the request number to check the device status later.
        (3) Once after confirming, you have to check the status at the device status portal..
It took 4-5 hrs to get a code.

        • Thanks.

  • Got mine as well. Bought 2 and after the amazon refund came to 81bux delivered so 40.50 each! Awsome deal! And works for 4g optus.

    • why did they refund

      • Because my first order was sent back via i-parcel cuz they refuse to send Li ion batteries by air. So did live chat with amazon and they agreed for me to order again at and refund me the difference and give me free priority shipping (dhl). So I basically paid 29.99 x 2 phones and free shipping which is about 81aud

  • Just received mine, the IMEI code came up with an error on the unlock page so it had became a paperweight for me. Looks like there's a loophole for a batch of Lumia which made them unlockable

    • does your IMEI start with 35304??

      • mine starts with 35861. Ended up messaging the AT&T customer care team and added the IMEI into their system. Waiting a day for the code to come through and now it's unlocked!

        • oh cool. I have done the same. Waiting for the code now.

  • Mine arrived yesterday, it's a nice phone for 50 bucks. Took about a day for the unlock code to come through which worked fine as my Boost sim now works, although for some reason the cellular data doesn't work despite it supporting the 850mhz band :|

  • Mine arrived today and unlock request has been sent.

    also waiting for the code.
