  • Sooo….for some reason plum is cheaper than black, and in black small is dearer than large. Their pricing is weird.

  • Damn, great price. my wife wanted a plum badly but I bought a black for her because it was only $115 on gumtree.

    • -2

U mean you got FITBIT CHARGE HR SMALL-BLACK for $115???????????
      How……

      • +1

Gumtree. I bought two (big and small) for $230 in Brisbane in the first week when it was released.

The lady on Gumtree said his brother used two tech shops in Sydney and Melbourne and now since brother had to close the shop, she was helping him to get rid of all stock.

I know nothing adds up but I went to that woman's house so it must be legit…

        • Lucky you! :)

        • are you sure they are authentic? charge hr clones are coming from cn for less than us$100.

        • @whooah1979: Yeah I figure it should be pretty easy to tell as you will need to pair and sync in order to upload data. Can the clones do that?

        • @Ahan:
i don't know how they would clone these items.

wearable fit gear is hot and cn are now cloning them like they do with hot mobiles. $115 each sound very cheap, even for 2nd hand items.

        • @whooah1979: Yeah fair enough. I however was more concerned about if it was stolen from a shop or something..

  • For plum you will need to pre-order though. So maybe that is why it is cheaper. The small black and the large black price is indeed confusing. Probably they stock more on large size.

    • Oh, It did not mention anything about the preorder on the first page.
I ordered one and the emails do not mention 'preorder' on them as well.

  • Good price for FitBit HR.
Kinda wished I waited (got one from gumtree sealed, but had no receipt)

  • +1

For those of you who own this, how accurate is the heart rate measurement during exercise compared to the ones which uses a strap, ie a Polar? In the market for a new strap for my Polar FT-7, may get this instead if it is accurate enough…

    • +2

The fitbit is nowhere as accurate, it can just keep up with sitting around and extended cardio but not bursts of activity.

    • +3

Mine is good up to a mid-range heart rate but anything super intense it can be up to 20 BMP out from my old Polar FT4 HRM….. I've been wearing both to compare the fitbits accuracy and i'm less than impressed with the Charge HR! I wear it in the correct spot on my wrist as instructed to do so by fitbit.. Do noooooooot replace your Polar with this until fitbit sort out a way for it to read an intense workout accurately…. after my standard 1hr workour my fitbit reads over 100cal LESS than my polar, and yes both devices are set with accurate user information etc. Major let down. Basically just paid $180 for a Flex with a built in watch. I have the Polar H7 strap which has bluetooth so if your smartphone is nearby it can send data straight to that if you're a tech nerd fit person like me.

      • Thanks for that! I'm actually looking to get the H7 before this deal came along, looks like I'll be sticking to my original plan…:)

    • Am reviewing this at the moment. Seems that the reading is a little bit inaccurate. I know my heartbeat is around 95-ish idling (using a friend's Samsung phone, EA Sports Active 2 heartrate strap, and Jabra Pulse), but Fitbit Charge HR shows it as around 83-88. Not a big of a deal, I guess

I was also awake twice last night but Fitbit Charge HR didn't catch that

      • hmmm. ~95 is a bit high or is the hr reading incorrect? i got the hr yesterday and after 24hr shows that my resting is 61bpm.

  • Thanks OP. Been looking around for the Charge HR for a while now. Great price!

  • Wow great price, thanks OP!

  • +1

Crazy price. Just picked Large HR from Officeworks for $137.61

  • +5

I have one of these and must say that the heart rate tracking unless resting is quite inaccurate. I could sprint up a sizable hill but it'll show no different until maybe 5 minutes later and even then the increase is mild. Extended cardio works much better but even then it is around 10 counts lower than my polar. For resting heart rate it is awesome as you see how it changes with sleep, interaction with the opposite sex, etc

    • what about weight lifting?

    • +2

I have a polar with chest band and do agree polar is very accurate comparing to this fitbit charge HR
however, i still find the HR useful while I am lazy to wear chest band all the time for just short exercises

    • +1

mine seems accurate when i exercise. Where do you wear it on your wrist? You're suppose to wear it 4 fingers above your wristbone when exercising i believe

      • I wear it about there but it struggles to keep up when I do sprints or cycling (strangely)

  • Just bought it for $173 last Friday. Anyone knows if DSE provide price guarantee like the Good Guys?

    • +9

they don't. buy a new one and return it with the old invoice.

      • They only accept if old one is unopened. I tried at harvey norman. They dont accept if opened. Anything that is wearable like headphone they dont accept.

        • +2

They meant return the new Fitbit that is purchased at the cheaper price, but with the old invoice with the higher amount. Not returning the used fitbit

        • @bigsarg7: Oh. I guess that would work. Its a bit dodgy :). But I guess they dont keep track of serial number and only care about inventory.
Anyone done that before? I paid $196 for my one in January. Do they refund opened from 2 months back?

          You must be new here.

    • Some credit cards provide a price guarantee. If you paid by CC, check your credit card provider.

  • Dammit, just got one a few days ago but have opened it. Looks like my parents will be getting a nice present though.

  • hmmm, just got a large black from ow for $154.40. wonder if they pm like tgg?

  • Good price, got one..thanks OP. would have cost me more than $6 to pricematch at OW.

  • Great price, thanks OP….quick question: What size to get? Why is small more expensive?

    • +1

small is mainly for kids. I'm a 176cm 67kg male and i use the 5th smallest strap (out of 10)

      • what do you mean? do you the 5th hole on the small model?

    • +1

Small just isn't on sale. My girlfriend wears small, I wear a large (I'm male).
You can use this size chart to tell what size you need:
      https://www.fitbit.com/content/us/flex/specs/FitbitFlex_sizi…

    • Thanks rockman / driver, I have ordered a large one.

  • +1

does this count how many big macs you eat?

    • +3

Only cheeseburgers count available atm, however, Big Mac is promised to be added to the list by the end of soon.

      • ill be sure to get the latest model then.

      • +1

        by the end of soon

        Gotta watch out for that!

  • Bought a black one for pickup, THX OP

        Thanks mate

  • Does anyone know if OW stock the plum colour? Can't see it on there website. Would they price match on a pre order price?

    • +1

Plum is not available until April i believe so OW have no stock either.
You may try to price beat from Harvey Norman which also provide Plum color for preordering

      • Understood thanks.

  • ordered charge 99 the other week. now this one. awesome! thanks OP

  • Excellent find! I got mine pre-order from HN at $174, now my wife will get this one - birthday present sorted.

  • Thanks OP. I've been waiting very impatiently for this to go on sale since the last deal around this price.
My flex has given up the ghost and it's time to move on.

  • -2

I have 2 that id like to sell $130 each large and small

  • out of stock :(

  • Been waiting for the Jawbone Up3, but was eyeing a Charge HR for a while given the delays. Managed to snag a black large today - thanks.

  • Hey Guys!

    Check this…
    FITBIT CHARGE HR-SMALL BLACK $151.32
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/fitbit-charge-hr-small-black-dsa…

This was in my wishlist for a longtime and I was waiting for a decent price and here's the best I got it for $143.75 delivered next day at my place.

I called Officeworks and asked them to beat the price ( as they hve mentioned to beat the price by 5% on their website).

    Enjoy!

    Cheers

    • care to share a photo of your invoice? =)

offer is over, not sure if i can still price match now

      • I tried to attach a copy however seems this is text field only and not allowing me to attach snapshot of invoice.
Also, the price beat by OW will be only if offer is still valid else they wont.

        Cheers

Can't add to cart by the looks of it, and when you open the item's page it says product out of stock. :( Was hoping to get the Charge HR Plum Large pre-ordered for the Mrs.

  • All gone!!

  • -1

    plum pick-up not available
    plum delivery not available
plum add to card not available

    Why even advertise this?

  • Out of stock. Was denied pricematch by OW :(

  • The only one left in stock at the moment is the Plum - Small :-(

  • Just ordered a click and collect Large Black from Emporium in Melbourne

  • Plum both sizes showing as out of stock.

  • Got price matched at Officeworks in macquarie park :)

    • price matched which fitbit?

      • it was charge hr black large

  • Damn hesitated too much. Thinking of upgrading from my 2 week old Flex lol.

  • Plum has sold out :(

  • Pricematched at OW!

  • +1

I tried to buy a black one large, appeared to be sold old when I clicked into the link, but I added it to my cart from the search page and the transaction went through, so hoping I will actually have a product to collect haha. May also work with the plum one? YMMV.

    • I got through as well and will collect from Perth CBD shop. Hope they honour it. There's no reason they shouldn't.. they genuinely put it on sale for that price!

  • Went into OW to try to price match and was denied. Oh well, put in an order online with Dick Smith.

    • On what grounds?

      • +1

They told me that Dick Smith didn't have stock in stores. When I brought up that it was an online offer and I could order online, and their own policy states that they price match with online stores, they still refused. I figured I couldn't force them to sell me the fitbit and it wasn't worth arguing anymore so I just bought it online from DSE.

        • Did you show them the product link where it said "temporarily out of stock"? It doesn't show it's out of stock on the search results page.

        • I was anxiously waiting at the OfficeWorks counter for the pending argument. Luckily it never came! Sorry you didn't have any luck, but at least you go the DSE one :)

        • @taniiah: As soon as I asked about price matching the fitbit one of the more senior staff members jumped in and told me they couldn't do it and went through and searched the DSE site herself to show me. Apparently they had quite a few people throughout the morning try and they turned them away.

@jacklynhydejr: Glad you were able to get one :)

  • Ordered pickup from Melb CBD at about 11:30AM, and got the SMS & email saying it was ready at 1PM. Thanks OP.

  • +1

    Thanks OP!!!

Price matched at OW a little while ago. Liverpool, Sydney

DSE deal is still awesome even without price match

  • Just price matched at officeworks $137.60 for Large Black.

  • +9

For those who want to get it from online but unable to because its out of stock. Here's the trick.. Go here: http://www.dicksmith.com.au/home-security/health-fitness/ped… - then add to cart from the overview page (do not go to the individual item main page). If you want to add 2, click add to cart twice.

If you go to your cart, you'd notice that you aren't be able to choose click and collect or delivery in the cart page for some reason. So go back to the overview page (link I post above) and click "Check Store Stock". Pick the store that has the item and choose "Collect From Here". It should apply it to the item that was already added in your cart. You will be navigated to your cart, and from there process for checkout.

Just got sms its ready for me to collect. So it should work!

    • John - you are an absolute legend! Thanks

    • Thanks John, just ordered 2. Fingers crossed they can fulfill it.

      • I just picked it up 2 hours ago. I'm sure you'll be fine. They can't dodge this one.

        • Yep got the notification. Picking them up tomorrow :)

        • just got my notification to pick this up too. Thanks again! I had my order cancelled twice so I was crossing my fingers on this one.

    • Hmm not working for me…maybe they fixed this.

      • You're not doing it right. Still works for me just now. At which point does it not work for you?

          1. clicked on your link
          2. scrolled down the list to fitbit hr plum small
          3. clicked add to cart
          4. got message at top of screen saying out of stock
        • @Doineedthis: Yeah I think that's because HR plum is a pre-order item.

        • @John:

          Okay thanks for helping :)

Not sure how a pre-order item is out of stock though. Maybe they have exceeded their allocation /shrug

    • Thanks John,
Earlier today I waited 15min for Office Works staff to locate the product. During that time it became "temporary out if stock" online, so they refused to price match.
Thanks to your link I could find a DSE store to click n collect from in Melbourne.
