Free: Google Play Credits for Opinions (via Android App)

2530

Thought I'd re-post this after 12 months in the wilderness. A friend reminded me of this today after telling me he received $2.80 over the past few weeks for answering a few questions. Enjoy :)

Answer quick surveys and earn Google Play credits with Google Opinion Rewards, an app created by Google Consumer Surveys.

Getting started is easy. Download the app and answer basic questions about yourself. We'll then send you surveys around once a week, although it may be more or less frequent. You'll get a notification on your phone when a short and relevant survey is ready for you, and can receive up to $1.00 in Play credits for completing it. Questions can range from, "Which logo is best?" and "Which promotion is most compelling?" to "When do you plan on traveling next?"

Mod: We have allowed this post as it does not break duplicate rules for a deal post. However with such time passing, we will see this as free software in the future, rather than allowing it to be posted as a deal again. Thanks

  • Earned over $20 already ;-D

  • Earned $26.09 from this app, haven't had a survey since 6/12/14 though, so do not see this as a deal at all anymore.

    • I uninstalled and reinstalled the app today, and finally got a new survey. I recommend doing this if you haven't received a survey in a while.

      • I earned $5 in December when I signed up but haven't had a survey since. Did you lose any credit from deleting and reinstalling? I don't want to lose my credit.

        • The credit is in your Google Wallet, not the rewards app, so go ahead and uninstall/reinstall.

        • @bamzero: done but didn't prompt me to set up my preferences again. Oh well, I'll see if this activates the surveys again. Shame to hear that people have $35-$50 and I've only got $5 :(

        • @compingqueen:
There's no preferences to set up. If you're already using the account on Rewards it will remember you as its tied to your account.

BTW a quicker way to reset an app is just clear its data. Has the same effect.

  • I downloaded the app half an hour ago, and it sent me the survey straightaway. I get $1 credit just for answering ONE question.

  • It's pretty awesome, I've got about $10 in credit still and haven't paid for an app out of my own pocket for most of a year.

  • Just earn $1 from my first one.

  • I keep getting asked what 6+4 is and if I'm from China.

    Totes worth it!

  • I get a few surveys per week. My wife rarely gets them. According to the app I have earner $36 since May last year.

not a deal or a bargain, SPAM.

You joined today just to tell us that? Thanks so much for the constructive feedback :)

Answering random questions for free money (play credit) is not a deal or bargain? What rock have you been hiding under?

      • If you're not the customer, you're the product.

  • I made around $50 from this in the last 12 months. However I haven't had a single survey since Xmas eve so around 3 months. I think they've forgotten about me! A colleague here at work is the same. Her last survey was new years eve then nothing since.

    • My last survey was on the 20th December. I don't get it.

  • I joined this about a week ago and a half ago. I have on average had a survey once every 2 or 3 days. Think i am up to $4.30. Not bad! Hope the surveys do not stop coming like they seem to have for some.

  • thanks to remind me this, somewhat i postponed installing it last year and forgot, now installed,

any suggestions on how many kids and income should I have to get the more surveys?:)

    • More kids, less income

      • +1

Actually i would suggest less kids, more income is better…

BUT I recommend just being honest full stop.

It is not very nice to try to game them when they are offering this so nicely.

  • This has been working wonders for buying IAP in Clash of Clans last few months

  • Just installing it, thanks.

  • I've earnt about $15 on rewards but haven't spent any yet. There's a few apps I want (Sync for Reddit, Sleep as Android) but I can't bring myself to buy them while they're not on sale. Sigh.

    • But it's credit you didn't have to pay for, so technically it's free!

A true OzBargainer needs better than free, he is waiting for 50% discount on free. I understand his predicament :)

    • Hehe, I know what you mean. I bought a few cheap apps less than $2, and will probably end up getting pro versions of Nova Launcher, SuperSU and Yatse to show a little support, but since they're around the $5 I keep thinking whoah there goes all my credit.. (OzBargainers for ya)

      • +1

I bought Nova Launcher yonks ago and never regretted it. SuperSU is on the hit list, but being an OzBargainer, I'm waiting until I can get it for free, and as nasotrang has said, I'll likely wait longer until it's also discounted :D

Having said that, I'm also not afraid to ask the devs for a discount, you'd be surprised, sometimes you just ask and they will discount it for 24/48 hours. More effective on small time apps though obviously ;)

    • Keep your eye on AppSales, might find something you want, though sure they miss some.

  • Good Post. Thank you

Signed up and within 10 minutes had my first survey - paid me a $1. Already had the repeat question(s) to prove what I said when I signed up was correct.

  • Been using this for months and months… absolutely brilliant app!

  • My last 4 surveys have come up with this error message "There was a problem submitting your answers. Don't worry, we'll try again soon to credit your account."
It's been two weeks now and I still haven't seen any extra credits…

      It's due to ad blocking.

Try whitelisting these (think it was the first one that worked for me, but the second is in my whitelist also though I can't remember if it was necessary.)

      survey.g.doubleclick.net
      spotlight-endpoint.appspot.com

      • I haven't installed any ad blocking apps. How would I go about whitelisting the ads on my samsung galaxy s5 ?

        • If they are not blocked then there would be no need. Sorry, can't be of much more help in this case.

      • Oh nice!, I haven't had this error, but I haven't had a survey in ages.. and I have trouble opeining some links cause of adblocking.. it never occurred to me that I could Whitelist.. DUH!

        • Not sure if that's why your not getting surveys, I was still getting them, just couldn't submit for credit.

If you're using AdAway, turn on the log and you can see the requests (but it includes all, not just blocked ones)

Thinking about it now, spotlight-endpoint.appspot.com probably ended up in my log because of the Motorola Spotlight Player.

          @bamzero:
Hey, even if that's not the problem, you've opened my eyes to the concept of Whitelisting.. Something I would have expected to be in AdAway had you asked me, but just never thought about.

  • Nice, joined an hour ago and just got asked 2 questions for $1. Took 3 seconds, nice :)

  • +1

I've earned $47 since 4 April last year.

Reminder that credits expire after 1 year, so remember to spend !

    • Yeah I was going to mention that too, would suck to lose them after all that.

  • YES ! CLASH OF CLANS

  • I'm not getting any surveys unfortunately

  • $7.12 now, from $0 a few days ago.

Though $6 was from my Chromecast :)

  • Joined up five days ago. I've had one initial reward of $1 and nothing since. Not surveys nothing. I must have put myself in the undesirable age bracket

  • The credit expires if you don’t use it, happened after I didn’t get any surveys .
