FREE: Google Play Credits for Opinions (via Android App)

1870

Free Google play credit in return for your opinions (and marketing data for Google).

Answer quick surveys and earn Google Play credits with Google Opinion Rewards, an app created by Google Consumer Surveys.

Getting started is easy. Download the app and answer basic questions about yourself. We'll then send you surveys around once a week, although it may be more or less frequent. You'll get a notification on your phone when a short and relevant survey is ready for you, and can receive up to $1.00 USD (or local equivalent) in Play credits for completing it. Questions can range from, "Which logo is best?" and "Which promotion is most compelling?" to "When do you plan on traveling next?"

This is currently available to users located in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia.

I wonder if Google+ is required. As of last year Google don't seem to value my opinion unless I have a Google+ account, which I refuse to open. Seeing as it's impossible for me to rate or review software on Google Play, I simply don't do it anymore.

    • Google+ is not needed

      • +1

Google plus is needed for all play store reviews.

As a Google android user myself, I cannot really say anything about anything without a googke plus account.

  • +3

Good to see it's been released in Australia!

  • +5

Wow, just made $1.00 in credit

    • For 5 seconds work!

  • Takes a while to get surveys…

    • +15

Funny, I don't remember handing in a CV, or show up for work, or pay taxes/super. It's just a harmless way to get occasionally some Google Play credit for a minute or two of your time. Considering how infrequently the surveys come, you can easily squeeze one in during the countless periods of dead time in the average day.

    • +3

You can also do the surveys while you're at work you're on the dunny, which is better than surfing Ozbargain as you're actually earning credit rather than spending more :)

      • +2

Is now a bad time to admit, I'm surfing OzB on the dunny?

    • -2

$1 for about 6 seconds of work.
that equates to $10/minute or $60/hour.

I wish that was minimum wage.

      • 60 x $10 = $60!?!?!?!

      • +1

        $1 every 6 seconds equates to $600 per hour, not $60 :)

  • +1

If you have problems getting it running, like myself, make sure you install, immediately restart and then run the app.

    • +1

Er… The bargain is the free Google Play credits you get using the app, not the app itself.

  • Why does it need automatically start at boot. Oh well… :(

  • I've done 2 surveys, no credit rewarded. Nooooooooooooooooooooo

  • Seems like a good idea but not sure how frequent we get asked questions for money?
Haven't even got any to begin with!

  • When are you planning on travelling next? Tomorrow please spam me with travel ads

    • +1

Are my answers used to target ads?
The ads an user sees will not change as a result of their answers to survey questions. Your answer to this question is anonymous - it's not connected to your personally identifiable information, or used to show ads to you. This sort of anonymous sampling information, when aggregated with other users’ answers, can be used to help Google improve the ads we show across the web including by showing more relevant ads to users based on their interests and demographics.

Relevant ads are better than arbitrary ads.

      • You're assuming ads as a whole have any relevance in the first place.

        • +1

I think this comment is hilarious given the website you're on. Without ads ozbargains wouldnt work as advertising in itself is a means of communicating a deal to a consumer.

  • awesome - thanks op - tried ages ago to get it though was only available in the US.

  • -6

It already free, guess should be in forum, according to ozbargain rules and done some surveys but no credits yet.no bargain here.

  • I got a dollar credit! Awesome.

  • My problem is I already get too much google $, there's only so much you can buy on the playstore.

    • Where do you get your surplus of Google $?

      • my guess it's accumulated from last year's kitkat competition? :p

        • Alas, was not on Ozbargain then :'(

I have vowed to never pay for an app in my life, so this survey thing is very interesting to me as I am looking to get Titanium backup for my Android, mayhaps.

Haven't actually recieved a single survey yet, but I suppose all you bastards are taking them all up :P

          What was the competition?

  • +3

I just did one and got nothing .. wut :(

    • +1

      Same :(

    • +2

same here. boooo! i want my 90 seconds back ;)

  • any tips on smashing surveys?

  • No rewards. Removed.

    • +5

Dont know why ur comment get downvote, its good valid feedback.

IMO this is not a bargain 1. The app is free, so not the bargain 2. Even installed there is no guarantee receiving survey to complete 3. Even when you do, there's alot of nonpaying ones.

Saying this is a bargain is like saying buying a lottery ticket is a bargain. So buying ticket isnt but there's a chance of getting 20 million in return, so thats a bargain?

    • +1

It asked me in the first survey whether or not I wanted to accept non-paying surveys. I'm not sure if it changes how often you get paying ones, but the option is there.

      • I said no to the non-paying surveys. Then proceeded to do the preliminary survey which involved asking which countries were considered continents (the answer is none of them!) and also asking you to leave 5 stars at the end of the survey to see if you were paying attention.

After that, you'll get another survey about some international issue or news (can't remember mine), and I was awarded a dollar credit. If you complete it too fast, you'll get a message saying so and you'll be bounced right back to the beginning.

        • +1

I did the same survey you described, but did not get any credit. It said it was just a test survey and that no credit would be rewarded. :-(

      • +1

Not worth the memory its occupying on my phone. Esp that it starts up at boot too. Uninstalled.

  • I think the app thinks I'm stupid.

New Zealand isn't a continent is it? :\

      • I said no given New Caledonia is also part of Zealandia. Therefore NZ isn't a continent on its own :)

  • +2

Did the survey didn't get anything. I chose not to sign up further surveys with no bonus does this make the difference?

Bloody Google false advertising. Rip me off!

    • I chose to sign up to other surveys too as I thought it may have had an effect, haven't had any surveys as of yet either..

      • -4

Ok what a waste of time gonna uninstall. Bloody Google. Next phone will be back to Apple.

        5 years of Android blah

        • +4

You are going to go back to Apple because you didn't receive a measly $1 credit?. Interesting thought process you have there.

        • -3

Dude, top end android phone nowadays cost $900, for that money might as well go back to iOS. At least I know value will be kept longer.

        • +8

You are forgetting that a $400 android (nexus) is better than any iPhone

        • Nexus 5 > iPhone 5S's 2 year old dated technology

        • Did you read the specs of both phones before posting?

        • -4

          I have a Nexus 7, S3 I don't need another Nexus.

Nexus 5 is nowhere near HTC M8 or Xperia Z2 or S5. Current top tier Android phone I'm talking about not the generic Nexus brand. They all cost $850-$900

Anyhow back to topic, I think Google is misleading wanting ppl to do free surveys

        • +3

I had an iPhone 5S. Returned it after 5 months it was that bad..

Nexus 5 is much much better! Not sure about the other top android phones but this sure does a fantastic job!

        • I think even the Moto G would give the iPhone a run for it's money (minus the camera) - extremely underrated phone.

  • +1

Mine just sits there loading after clicking getting started, re-installed and rebooted same issue…. hmmm

    • same here, would that be because of my Android version?

    • Mine did that consistently when I was connected to WiFi at a hotel in Melbourne over a 24 hour period, I tried again when I arrived home on my WiFi and it worked first time. No idea if the problem was just at the times I tried or if it's related to the hotel WiFi.

Just got a survey, consisting of one multiple choice question and got a dollar for it!

    Easy money
(It may have had a bug since it said Q1/9 at the top, win for me!)

    • Do you use shampoo then?

      • Yes, I do. Still didn't want any more responses

        • Same - expect a shampoo/haircare survey next I suppose…

  • Im not getting any surveys :(

  • No surveys, still waiting for google to approve me to answer surveys. It ha been a week already.

  • cannot use telstra credit after using this…. very upset

  • Got my first survey tonight. One dollar for spending about fifteen seconds answering two questions. Not bad at all :)

  • finally got my first one today too! cheers :D

  • +1

so far ive gotten three surveys for a total of $2.84
not bad for less then 60 seconds work.

    • +1
