There's been a couple of deals recently for flights to LA/NY

This is the cheapest I've been able to find to NY.
These are for everyone (not just students).

These are 2 searches I just made.

$1148 return from Syd

Note that there is an online booking fee (but this may or may not apply if you go to the student flight stores)

There's also a black market price of $1115/$1055 for students/under 26 but you'll also need an ISIC/ICE/IYTC card which you can purchase from student flights.

  How do you book on this site or at least see flight prices in detail? i see you ahve flights in your screen grab but cant see how you get past the inquire button that they want all your personal details? i would assume for a call back?

    I think it's for the general public.
    Only the Black Market deals are for students as far as I know.

    I saw that too but take note that you'll need to change twice (MEL->SYD) which might be a pain for some.

      Yeah. Unfortunately VA don't do direct flights MEL-LAX anymore.
