I hear you, but I can't help myself… found $15 shoes I wanted, checked out with $85 of other stuff…

  • +4

Up to 90% off some shoes

    • Some of the brands I've never heard of though.. so 90% off realistic prices?

  • +4

Seems difficult to buy shoes online without trying them on.

    • +1

That's why we still have brick and mortar stores.

    • +7

Psh, that's the thrill in hoping they fit when they arrive.

  • +1

Everywhere on the site it says delivery for $10 (under $100). But when i go to checkout it is $20?

    • +2

      $10 per shoe? ;-)

      • +1

Dw all good. It says $20 when you select the shipping but once you press next its only $10.

        • +2

you are brave. I would never press next when the price seems wrong!

        • @cash8: It wasnt the final page. Hadnt even put in payment info yet.

  • +2

order >$100, still no free shipping…

    • Same here, how much are they charging you?

      • +1

        $19.99 for standard

        • Once you press next, it will reduce the shipping charge to $10

        • +1

I just found something very strange on their shipping charges, if I order $100, it charges me $9.98 for shipping; if I order $101, it charges $19.99. Shouldn't it be free shipping for order over $100?

        • @maogua:

          Same not sure why.

        • +1

          @maogua:

Same… My cart was $135 in total still $19.99 shipping

        • +1

Same here. I filed a complaint with their customer service. I will let you know once I hear from them.

        • @totsydeal: Very strange, because mine said $19.99 for shipping but then only charged me $9.99

        • +1

          @chillybags:

Went all the way to last screen with payment confirm just before confirming the order. $19.99 remains.

          @totsydeal:
          Hi folks,
Got an email from their customer service stating that the free delivery is available in UK for order above 100 GBP.
It is laughable that they are not aware of their own terms.

Extracted below is from their website (http://au.sportsdirect.com/ ) which clearly is the Australian version. I replied back. Now fingers crossed.

        • Just ordered $250 worth 2 weeks ago and received within a week in NSW and it was free shipping

      • Yeah getting charged 19.99 even though >$100 spend…

    • +1

Me too. Over $200 ordered and paid $19.90 postage. I completed the order and submitted a ticket to get a refund. Will post their reply on here when it arrives.

      • Got an email back from them this afternoon apologising and they are reissuing a refund for postage. Can take upto 30 days depending on my bank.

  • bought some stuff, cheers!

  • So, are the sizes UK or US? The size guide has both but the shoes themselves are not specified!

    • UK from the pairs I have purchased.

$20 shipping kills the discount. No deal

I love the cheap slazenger kids bathers as my children get through one each every term since starting lessons, stock up at GBP3.50 to 5 each and last longer than $12 kmart versions

  • +2

Aww surprised to find some maternity shirts and even a cardigan pretty happy.

  • +1

Bought some running shorts from this store the last time they were listed on OzBargain. Quick delivery, well packaged, good store.

  • Firetrap Shore Mens Flip Flops reduced to $25.98 from $100! I feel ashamed paying real money for crocs (twice, once I'm wearing them as well) let alone $100 for thongs.

  • +2

    RE: DELIVERY
    Hi folks,
Now the SD customer service has agreed to refund the delivery fee. Happy OzBargainer here. Good luck with yours.
    Cheers

Do we need to send an email for refund or are they going to change their rules? Thanks.

    • Lucky! I got this reply back:“Thank you for your email.Having looked in to this further we are unable to offer free delivery on overseas orders. The delivery charge is automatically calculated when an order is placed.”

      • but it's part of their australian version of their website!

        • I know! So I emailed them again and got this "Thank you for your email. This is currently being looked in to further and on this occasion I have refunded the delivery charge paid on the order, this should clear within 2-30 working days."

  • Sports Direct is making me poor. hahaha

  • damn….more money spent.

I'm changing my name to Imelda Marcos.

  • This place has such great deals it is really pushing the bank account.
Every time I look at it, pile up the cart, agonise about whether to pull the trigger, then just go for it.

If they are still charging for delivery fees, just send them an email for a refund on the fees. I sent them:

    Hi SportsDirect

In your delivery options, it states that orders above $100 comes with free standard delivery.
However my cart was charged $20 for delivery. Could I please get the delivery charge refunded?

Terms as per your Australian website http://au.sportsdirect.com/CustomerServices/DeliveryInfo/Del…

    Their response:
    Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately there seems to be an issue within our system and the charge is not being removed.

Please accept our sincere apology for the delay caused on this matter. We have since processed a refund back onto your account.

Depending on your bank's procedures this amount may take up to 5 working days to clear back to your original method of payment.

    Kind Regards,

    Curtis

    I got refunded shippping too.

  • Thanks guys for your comments, will send an email tomorrow and ask them to refund, just spend a bit more than 300 there, really nice prices, I ordered lots of from slazenger and pierre cardin brands..

  • +1

Email received. Intention to refund shipping costs.
    Good.

  • +1

Also received an email stating that they will refund postage:

"You should be applying through the Australian website to receive the free delivery if not place the order and if it is over $100 we will refund the postage."

  • I received an email today from Sports Direct stating they have refunded me the whole order amount.

"Our couriers have been unable to deliver your goods and as a result your order has been returned to sender."

Has anyone received an email like this from them before? Have you received your delivery? I completed the order online on the 23rd March. There was always someone home so I don't know how this happened. Maybe in the backyard and didn't hear doorbell? I got no phone call or anything, just an email with a refund? Doesn't seem right to me from past experience. I have ordered from Sports Direct before and haven't had any problems.

    Any suggestions or recommendations?

    Cheers

    • Had you been checking the tracking? What did that say?

I've had 3 orders and haven't had anything like that but have kept an eye on the tracking everytime.

      • Hi Treeman,

I've had 2 orders in the past with no problem.

I have the email notification set up for the tracking process. Received an email on Saturday 28th March at 6pm saying:
"Order reference number is: SDAU40000015107186 Your order has been collected by your nominated courier. Please find below the delivery tracking."

Then on Sunday at 9am the email saying "Our couriers have been unable to deliver your goods and as a result your order has been returned to sender."

Were they going to deliver on Saturday night?? I didn't hear the doorbell ring or anything, just a straight out refund email. Doesn't seem fair to me.

        • Sounds strange…can you ask Australia Post? It should have an AU tracking number through them if it makes it that far.

  • Looks like they've removed any reference to free delivery >$100

    • Damn needs to be some incentive for spending more money. Still 9.99 for all orders.

      • Goes up to almost $20 delivery if you go over $100

        • Silly. Doesn't say that on the website. I think 9.99 probably is fair but to charge extra the more you spend is odd.

  • How are Karrimor Shoes? I need a pair of Hiking boots, and never bought a pair in my life.

2 late, ordered, hope they get here by the 19th

    • +1

Apparently Karrimor is just a cheap brand. Not sure how reliable they would be for shoes. I read they used to be an upmarket brand but sportsdirect bought them and have made it their brand. Hence the cheap prices.

Having said that I did purchase a few pieces of clothing from them and they seem good so far but never shoes.

  • I'm just looking at their delivery atm. It is charging me $19.98 for orders over $100. Whereas it should be either free or $9.99. Anyone had any experience? With them in regards to getting it back to $9.99 or free lately?

  • Well, got my shoes today and im pretty impressed for a $65 pair of hiking/all terrainy walking boots.

They don't seem that reliable as water insulators, but they are pretty comfortable, and the sole/tread feels sturdy.

Will do for me, since Ill only be using them for the most infrequent forest walk / leisurely stroll at Latrobe Uni's Wildlife Sanctuary.

    Thanks for the shoes vino83th

    • Good work.

I purchased some stuff over $100 and it charged me $19.98. I sent an email and they refunded me the $9.99. So not sure if it is a mistake or they have changed it on the website.
