Mario Party 10 Wii U - $54 at Target

470

Mario Party 10 is currently $54 at Target. This is the cheapest I've seen a local copy at Australian retail, so as far as I know this is the cheapest way to get the game instantly without waiting for online delivery times. Other retailers are in the ballpark of $70.

This is the standalone version of the game, so no Amiibo is included.

mentioned here but worthy of a post I guess
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/186028

  • Big w has it for $59 and both sell the amibo version for $69 if you can find stock

    • So $5 more than this deal?

      • +4

Did you want a medal for your advanced maths calculation there, or were you trying to ridicule him for discussing competitors pricing for this product and the price for an alternative version at both stores?

      • +4

yeah the big w price was more a reference of him saying all other competitors are around $70. Gamesmen also has it for $54. Plus its more of a dupe i guess as mentioned above

      • Accidentally upvoted you and now I can't downvote you :(

    • +2

      Not local stock.

      • It's still PAL though, will play here. Will barely be anything different about the case except maybe the rating

      • And that's an issue because… ?

        • I have ordered games from Blockbuster before. I'm not attacking blockbuster! however if you want it now, you cannot get that from Blockbuster. So that's why it's an issue.

        • +5

It doesn't matter if it's not local stock. I had this issue on one of my posts 8 months back where someone negged the deal because you could get the same product a month later for $1.20 cheaper. No joke: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/153476

But I'm not going to neg this deal because, well, I'm not a dick.

@Dagmar: Doesn't really enforce the desire to contribute to the site does it.

        • In case people want to squeeze out some Club Nintendo AU points before they shutter it?

        • +1

@Strand0410: you don't get any points anymore , you can just use what you've got

    • +6

Blockbuster's shipping is very very slow though.

  • +2

I keep waiting for another decent sub 200 deal on the console. Might be a while…

    • Same!

    • I keep waiting for another decent sub 200 deal

Not with where there Aussie dollar is…

    • I thought the only reason why the basics hit sub 200 was because Nintendo in as was canning wiiu basic? Premium won't hit sub 200

      • +1

It will, when Nintendo give up on the console and start the fire sale. Shouldn't be thaattt long now.

        • +1

I disagree. The demand is increasing after all those AAA Nintendo exclusive games are out now and more coming by end of this year. the price will stay there for a while until PS4 or XBOXONE starts the fire sale first.

        • +2

          I disagree as well.

The Wii U is a great secondary console to the PS4/Xbone, which is to play Nintendo (and their IPs) games.

        • Difficult to judge based on that. Wii u addresses a market that ps4 and xbox1 titles don't. Multiplayer party games. Although Nintendo might if developers come out with poor quality titles

    • Probably only for the duration of the current catalog.

      • -6

it doesn't mention anything in the link that the price is reduced or that it's going to go up…

    • +2

Isn't that their normal price, they've always sold it for that…

Yes, but it's launch window price. Target's game prices aren't set in stone (especially Nintendo), e.g. Monster Hunter 3DS launched at $48, then it bounced up to $55 for a while, then it was back to launch price for a few days a fortnight ago (when I bought mine), now it's back to $55, ditto with Wii-U games like Mario World 3D. This deal has merit, because people might want to get in on Mario Party for $54.

  • This is the standalone version of the game, so no Amiibo is included.

I think the Amiibo version is $69, so $15 extra for the character…

  • +1

apparently not such a good game though……

  • <dupe comment>

I've heard mixed things, but then again I heard similar mixed things about Wii Party U and still find that to be a great party game.

      • Yeah I was going to buy this at release but read some reviews and decided to wait. I have nostalgia for the old titles but have heard the mini games are few and far between. On the fence too.

        • Places I trust have said the minigame rate is actually much better the the last few games. Guess Ill see when my order arrives

        • @Dany34: Gametrailers review couples comments below supports what I read also. Suppose its who you ask.

        • @brendanAUS:
I asked Bowser, he said Mario's parties always suck. Something about always being cock blocked when he's about to nail a princess.

    • Depends on whether you like the car mechanic or not. The minigames are a good fix though.

  • Let us know how it is OP, I'm still on the fence with this game.

Not entirely sold on the whole party-car system

    • SPOILER: I think this must be the worst rating they've ever given to a wii u game.

  • Can you use your existing regular mario, luigi etc. Amiibos to get the extra levels or do you need to buy these additional amiibos to unlock those special levels?

    • On second thoughts, I will not buy this.
      Looks pretty dodgy, like no.9

Might just buy mario 3d world where they can be cats instead. That looks and the boy will love it.

      • +1

i believe each amiibo holds data for just 1 game…

      • +1

Mario 3D World is one of the best games for Wii U.

      • +1

Get Mario 3D World if you don't already have it. You wont regret it but about $15-20 more expensive than Party 10.

    • yes you can use either amiibo however you will have to delete your smash data if you have it

      • Then you still have to buy Toad Amiibo from the Party to unlock the Toad level? as it is not in the Smash Bros release.

  • Don't like discs, prefer digital $69

    • +1

Just keep in mind that EB Games currently has 15% off Nintendo credits (in $15, $30 and $60 denominations). So if your preference is going digital you can still save a bit there.

  • EBgames price matched blockbuster…traded in some old games got it for free :D win win

  • I have a Wii U with 3 Pro controllers (for Sm4sh, MK8, etc), but no Wii-motes. Is it worth buying 3 Wii-motes just to play this game (I also have Nintendoland), and if so, where can I get them for cheap?

    • Kmart sell fake ones for $25. Sellers also have them cheaper on eBay.

      • Try second hand from EB ( look for ones that are Nintendo branded. They have 3 months warranty or even better you can probably get a Wii console with controllers pretty cheap second hand from EB of Cash Converters. Sometimes they sell a whole sysytem with remotes for $30.

  • Nintendo has let me down with the Wii U. i've had the console for 5 months and only found 4 decent games:

    • Mario Kart
    • Donkey Kong
    • Super Mario 3D
    • Super Mario Brothers.

I don't know why they released a console with barely any games, the Nintendo eShop has like 2 Wii games, and the latest FIFA i can get is FIFIA 13 ffs
Even the Wii had much more variety in terms of the classic digital games and the present Wii games.m

    • There are some gems, but it's limited. This is why I'm waiting.

Mean while, the Dolphin emulator can upscale Wii games to Wii U quality (or better) graphics.

Dude, what about Bayoneta 2, Zelda Windwaker, Pikmin 3 not to forget Wonderful 101??

      • maximum 5-6 games, what im saying, is that it's not sufficient for $450 console

        • +1

          $450? You've got ripped off.

        • Well including the games you listed its an easy 8 games right there. I do agree they dont have much game titles when it was launched but now with all the announced titles happening this year it'll be more than 5-6games max..XD

Also agree with wtfnodeal, $450? Where did you get it from? lol

        • Wait for the next Zelda, it will be worth it just for that alone.

        • @piggiepanda:

Dude I bought it around a year ago

        • @frostman: yes i Know…cant wait…hope it's as good as the N64 Zeldas

        • @frostman:

Dude, i bought it a year ago too but for $200 not $450. Thought u only had it for around 5 months? Most of the games i mentioned were out =="

        • @piggiepanda:

Show me where you can get a Wii U Premium for $200 a year ago… I just feel that Nintendo rushed with the release of the Wii U only to contend with Sony and Microsoft yet hardly any native games were released. It's only now that few games are being released. POOR

        • @frostman:

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/156645 < 7 months ago deal from toys'r'us
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/117642 .. < I got mine from this deal, had 5% off too cause i had a woolies staff card. So yeah $200.

I totally agree with you that Nintendo released their Wii U with no game libraries and only NOW they start releasing all these awesome games. But same can be said to our current new gen consoles like the PS4 and XBONE. Dont see any awesome games when they released it. In fact it was mostly remakes/remastered. Only now they have Bloodborne, Halo 5 and all these awesome titles out just like Nintendo.

I've got all consoles so im not biased or trying to defend Nintendo or anything, just my POV and opinion. :)

    • Bayonetta 2
      NintendoLand
      Pimom 3
      Rayman Legends
      Super Smash Bros
      Wind Waker HD
      Wonderful 101

      I personally enjoy ZombiU.

Other than the four you listed, these are the other best exclusives, they also have cross platform games if you don't have other systems that are good too.
