    cheapest ever seen so far~~!!!

That's very subjective. I've definitely seen much worse. Imagine it was fluro-rainbow / hello-kitty instead of black.

    • thank you for your expert opinion.

    • didnt know you were judged by the look of your stick… but thats just me

anyway this stick is great! no caps to lose, and the usb contacts are hidden when not in use.
      A+

      • +1

I think this is a very handsome stick, a good sized stick, and yes, I concur, a cap-less stick is always a bonus!

  • Will Officeworks price match?

    • -8

      Why would they not?

      • They have a tendency to be reluctant to do so on really good deals. Seems to depend on who you get.

Good deal, no complaints there. Just the drive is terribly slow, I had one, returned it. Approximately 4-5MB/s writes and 20MB/s reads.. what's the point! Took forever to fill it up so I ditched it for a faster drive.

Don't expect fast sequential writes on this drive, fine for transferring photos, music, general documents, etc.

    • Now YOU have an informative post there, thank you. Anybody more concerned with looks should get an Apple thumb drive. Oh, that's right. There's no such thing :P

      • No worries. I'm just a little fussy about write speeds but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, good price for the drive.

Faster speeds come at a price, the Contour's are much better but almost 2.5x the price. I've got a nice 2GB Lexar JD Lightning that does 18-19MB/s write which is great.

But at the end of the day, if you're transferring large files to and from the USB, people are best off with a portable HDD (320GB for $69!).

  • is anyone having problems with the site? i can't seem to get to the log in page to buy it!

  • too many people on online at moment, try again later if you have any problem. sorry for this!

    • i went all the way thru to confirm order and the page had an error, how do i know if it went through?

Sorry to say but I dont think this is a very good deal, its ok, I know the below is a Rambo drive, but I have bought around 5 of them over the last few weeks, and it is very quick, and reliable. My friends have also had no problems,
its $16 and available in store only, they will not courier it.

    • Dont think so, this store only available in Vic, which means that price is restricted to locals if only pick up available as you said. Not to mention the travel cost to get there.

just saying, its not that great, the Rambo drive i have is really really quick as well. Thats all.

for thos of you in Melbourne this deal is good though, you have to admit it is, yes I agree its not a Sandisk, but this drive is actually faster, who cares what the brand is, I have bought heaps of them and they work great.

    • Also I am curious how you can rate Rambo better than sandisk?

    • would you be able to proxy a couple?

  • The site keeps telling me that my credit card is either maxed out (it isn't) or that my details are incorrect (they're not)… I've tried several times to no avail.

    • you can contact us on 0298938886, we will find out the problem for you, or try different credit card.
server are running very slow at moment due to too many visitor, you can try again later.

      • Same here. I think it is your server problem.

        • should be fine now

Wouldn't mind a decent 8GB stick for $20 but don't see any guaranteed speeds for the basic Cruzers. If it were a 1GB stick I wouldn't necessarily care to know if it were a top performer. For the kind of things I'd use an 8GB drive for, it's a different story.

    • I need an 8GB or more stick but I am a bit hazy on the read/write speeds and various classes.
I will be using it to load with movies from comp to USB Tv player so waiting for slow write speeds would be a bit boring with average files ~ 700 MB.
Do you know ones should I look out for?

  • so now my credit card has been charged twice!!! i only bought one!

    • you email us or call us, we will refund if we charged u twice, dont worry!

  • nvm

  • Good deal, I'd get one if I didn't just get a 16gb Titanium Micro Cruzer ($48 @ HT).
Just a note, the image on the product page is "New Design" Cruzer , not the Micro Cruzer

  • Good deal but the website is buggy. Hopefully the payment interface is safe…

Went to pay via paypal and it tried to charge the amount without the shipping discount.

  • I'm confused. Is it the old or new design?

    • its new design

Good deal but the actual website is so cr@p I decided to sign up to OzBargain for the first time in using this site for 2 years to tell evrybody to be careful if you choose to buy and successfully enter in your paynment details the payment side of this site. If they cannot manage the account creation and checkout procedure who knows how good there payment processing will be? Buyer Beware!

    • hence my CC being charged twice…

  • I created a new account, but won't let me log in…

How can I buy it if it won't let me log in???

try to clear the web browser history and cookies..

Oh, I do hate it when someone tells me to do that.

    http://catalogues.bigw.com.au/portal/offerdetails/lexar-usb/…

    • is that $12? available elsewhere? cbb checking, if so post it up man that's a killer deal

and to that clown "YesPleaseThankYou" and your neg, only coz it looks ugly, stop being a girl about it. it looks normal like any other usb these days, esp at that price its good.

      • -5

There are some very nice looking USB devices — this one is just plain ugly.

        • Instead of being all talk. Maybe show us some which are better looking and similar price?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, something ugly in your eyes maybe hot in other eyes. XD

Complexity, The stupid suffer from it, the smart remove it.

Regarding speed though, This writes stuff quite fast, about 12mb/s. But this speed also depends on which computer/motherboard. I notice some of the AMD motherboards write and read slower, but the intel and nvidia ones seem to be faster. Also make sure you buy a REAL one from a store, not from ebay, there has been quite a lot of fakes hanging around on there.

  • +1

    It's a freaking tool.
    It's $20. It's black and functional.
I see no beauty or ugliness.
Just looks like a USB stick :p

  • +1

I'm trying to order one now but it tells me that the coupon has expired.
