G3 seems like an okay deal for a flagship, dont know why anyone would be crazy enough to spend over $500 on a phone… seems very wasteful when phones like the Moto G or Nexus 5 can do 90% the stuff flagships do…

    • +5

Horses for courses, some of the above mentioned phones have battery life as much as double the Nexus 5. That's something I value in a phone.

      • Moto G has great battery!

      • That is not quite true. The flagships do not have double battery capacities than the Nexus 5 so it is basically impossible for them to have doubled battery life than the Nexus 5 from the start.

The Nexus 5 has about 4.5 hours SOT(screen on time) which is on par with the same period iPhone 5. The GS5, M8 and Z2 in the above flagships manage to beat the Nexus 5 and have about 6.5 to 7 SOT but the LG G3 lasts about 5 hours SOT which is quite similar to the Nexus 5.

        • That is not quite true.

It is true, because reality says our usage patterns include a mix of on-screen time, standby and application usage. Look up websites that have done tests, you will find they will all agree that is what actually reflects battery life of those above phones.

The flagships do not have double battery capacities than the Nexus 5 so it is basically impossible for them to have doubled battery life

You haven't considered a long list of variables to be assuming that. For instance all the phones don't have equal screen panels and therefore have different power consumption rates.

The Nexus 5 has about 4.5 hours SOT(screen on time)

I tend to ignore numbers like that. In what situation will you have the screen on for so long, and how often would you do that. If that is your usage pattern, it certainly doesn't reflect the majority of users.

        • @plmko:

The hours of the SOT is really based on the use pattern. If you have used most of the devices listed above, if not all, you can then tell the battery life of the devices.

I used the nexus 5, M8, G3 and Z3 as daily driver and based on my own usage pattern, I get 4.5,6,5,6.5 SOT respectively. This is based on my experience.

For better reference, you can check all possible technical reviews, none of the above mention phone has been tested to have doubled battery life than the nexus 5.

Of cause there many reasons to affect the battery life. But the major parameter is still the battery capacity - especially when the other key parameters are quite similar. (Operating system(Kit Kat), SOC (28nm), screen technology(1080p))

G3 was Price error, should $448 on this deal.

      • +1

pretty good value in that case

          Hi nathan-drake

          Thanks for the feedback!

    • here i am just waiting for DSE to sell the Huawei mate 7 for $450 again

    • Camera, battery, display. The amount of time some people spend on their phones, I'm surprised they wouldn't spend more, say compared to a laptop.

Moto G is extremely slow once you install a few apps on it. I'd know..I have one.

      • same here

    Good price for Note 4

    • I don't get why Note 4 is so much more than GS5?? Isnt it just a bigger version? I guess its a few months newer? Still…..$800 for a phone seems so insane these days, dont know what society has come to…

      • +3

No it's more than a bigger version. I can't quote it's specs off the top of my head, but the Note 4 is definitely a big upgrade from the S5. Also it's hard to compare the two because the Note and S series are two seperate product lines altogether. Better to compare the Note 3 to the Note 4

Edit: $800ish is not too bad for a top of the line device in my personal opinion. It's a subjective thing so it depends on you personally. $770 for Note 4 at this point in time is great! Even cheaper than grey import

        • It would be a good price if we are back at Nov 2014. But now the Note 4 has already been released for about 6 month. I expected the price to go down to around $650 but it didn't happen. I guess the reason lies in our weak dollar.

I am an Android lover but I know Android flagships drops to half of its RRP in one year after release.

        • @claud0902: definitely some good points! I think the reason it hasn't dropped as much as it could have was because of the depreciating AUD against most of our trading partners

      • +3

Compared to the S5, Note 4 has a higher image quality Sony camera sensor with mechanical (optical) image stabilization, better front-facing camera, bigger & higher resolution display, bigger battery, built-in Wacom digital stylus pen, aluminium outer frame, faster CPU, faster GPU, 1GB extra RAM, louder loudspeaker etc. So yeah, I think it should be quite a bit more than the S5 IMHO.

    • +1

It's a pretty good price, but If you're wanting to buy one, I would hold out and maybe wait for the 20% off at ebay. There's a chance that the current price for the note 4 on the good guys ebay store is going to stay the same throughout the promo (as in they won't increase it back up before the 20% begins) so you might be able to get one for $630.

      source:
note 4 on TGG website says it's on sale until the 12th of April.

looks like a good deal for lumia 930 considering jb doing 830 for 420 was a bargain a few weeks back
currently they have 930 for 688!!

    • Hi Lodan

      Thanks for your comment!

      • You're welcome
my only regret is that i broke my old 820 the day of this deal, rather than the day of the jb deal, lol!

Hey op, you getting the Asus Zenfone 2 Any time soon?

    • Hi there

We dont have ETA for Asus Zenfone 2.

      • +2

Thanks Op, because if you can swing the 4gb 32/64Gb Taiwanese version (which supports LTE band 28) then there's a whole heap of people on whirlpool itching to buy :-)

        http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2355914

        • Mobileciti sells only Aus stock phones usually and Asus is not launching this officially anytime soon.
Get it from Android Enjoyed or T-Dimension . The prices should be around AU $ 360 or there around once stock stabilizes around 2nd week of April for the 4GB RAM/32GB ROM Z3580 2.3Ghz version.

Are these phones considered sale items? I'm reading your Refund & Return Policy and that you guys won't offer exchange or refund if it is a on sale item.

    • I just bought the G3 from you guys and I at least wanna feel safe :)

      • +2

Don't worry, You still covered if item was faulty or any other major issues.
p.s we also updated our refund & return policy by removed the wording "It is not a on sale item".

  • So all Australian stock? Manufacturer warranty?

    • Yes they are all Australian stock and come with Manufacture warranty.

  • Do you have Galaxy Note 4 Dual sim model? I did not see on your website.

    • Hi

Sorry, Note 4 Dual sim model not available in AU market, so we don't have it.

  • So silly question… which one of these has the best ability for actually making and receiving good quality phone calls, and a good speaker phone? I ask because my current smart phone isn't so great with phone calls, despite doing everything else so well :)

  • Hi there mobileciti rep
