Officeworks will not beat a website with no model number

    • won't be long before they try to sell this for half price lol terriable battery life on these phones.

      • hot take but I am a very happy customer of the 17 air, battery life is very similar to my old 16 pro but I have chargers at home, my car and office anyway.
But the phone has the best build quality on an iphone, never used any screen protector or case and dropped the phone several times on concrete, and yet the phone has zero scrathes or chips or scuff marks, this could very well be the closest thing to a Nokia and I hope apple never discontinues the air. Also, the phone is a eye catcher too people at office, cafe, restautants actually approach me ask what phone it is, can I hold it and impressed by its designed and build. In a sea of smartphones, where every phone looks the same, the air really stands out the most.

lmao the most obvious fake reviews alongside the owner crashing out at anyone with a negative review

Are you trying to tell me this is a fake review?

"I had my son's tempered glass repaired on his iphone and found the staff very knowledgeable“.

Staff that repairs tempered glass is next level.

They must melt down the glass and reshape it, impressive

Good luck getting OW to match that..

I'm not trying to sh*t on iPhones, I really think they are great products.

At the same time, I switched to Android a few years ago when iPhone routinely got over $1500 and I just said "f*ck this, this is just a phone"

Initially I hated Android with a passion, and I still don't love it, but it really does everything an iPhone does for about half the price (the Samsung initial release specials are hard to beat).
So not saying you should try to switch, but I am saying it's just a phone, just like any other phone these days, and sometimes there are better places for your money, because OZBargain spirit, right? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

if you want to quote, at least (profanity) quote correctly, and/or learn the difference between it's and its.

Just need to wait for a really good OZB deal. A brand new iPhone 16 for $600 to $650 was possible April this year (terminate 24 months contract early + price match). There were also cheap iPhone SE (2022) deals.

Even for android phones, still best to wait for great OZB deals.

      • Unfortunately, Telstra increased the termination fee from $800 to $1000 recently, so these signing up Telstra plan deals may not be as good as they used to be.

        • It was a sad day for the OzBargain community when this happened. Man did I exploit that loophole!

          • +1

@SirFrankGrimes: Maybe the best deal now is wait until after new year when JB starts dropping iPhone price (roughly $200 discount) and then pay using 10% off gift card, combined with TRS. I got iPhone 15PM for around $1500 last year using this method.

    • really want to try pixel. samsung is notorious for bloatwares. Iphone is big lacking AI, cant even change songs mid-driving or add a gas station stop in 2025 almost 2026. the release of 17 really sealed my thoughts of going andriod.

If the airpods arent this amazing, i wouldve sold my iphone already. (16pro)

Thing is, even at less than half price, it could still end up costing you more.

With iPhones, you have a 2 week return policy (if bought directly from Apple). That’s plenty time to figure out if you like it or not.

There are no such options for Android devices that I’m aware of. So if you are moving from iPhone to Android, there is risk of spending twice. If you are moving from Android to iPhone, it’s risk free (again, if bought direct).

For you, you’ve stuck with it for a few years, but still don’t like it. So, better to buy once cry once, no?

      • -1

For you, you’ve stuck with it for a few years

No, I can buy anything any time I want to. I'm not strapped for cash.

        but still don’t like it.

I said I don't love it. It's a phone, it does whatever a phone needs to do.

So, better to buy once cry once, no?

I used to upgrade every year to the latest iPhones, which didn't bother me until it did.

        • No, I can buy anything any time I want to. I'm not strapped for cash.

          uhhhh, you're on ozbargain

          • @dukeGR4: and? the site isn't just for people like you here to save, it's for people that want to spend too

        • Ok?

      • Google appears to offer 14 days / 2 weeks return policy (if bought directly from Google). Costco seems to offer a flexible return policy, perhaps up to 90 days? There might be another company offering good return policy.

Recently, Apple's support for out of warranty devices is getting really bad. The repair cost quoted can often be quite ridiculous and the staff actively encourage customers to buy a new one instead.

I have an old iPhone and for years I refused to update iOS (so I can run 32 bit apps I paid for). 2 years ago, when I turned it on, I got a message that I must upgrade iOS to continue to use the phone. Apple can remote zap the iPhone activation and force you to upgrade.

I have multiple i-devices which can't run the latest iOS. One of them can't even watch youTube. Safari browser on it is so old that a lot of Web sites don't work (can't upgrade because the iOS is too old).

For you, you’ve stuck with it for a few years

Um… you can sell it if you don't like it. Why do you think Android phones cannot be sold? I know someone who buys and sells his iPhone every year (to get that new phone feeling every year).

Don't let owning an iPhone cloud your judgement. iPhones are ubiquitous now. Cleaners in my office have better iPhones than me.

        • That's great if Google do offer the return (open box). So people might have an option to try it after all. Thanks for adding that.

Not sure about the latter half of what you said though. You quoted me, but seem to have responded to something I didn't say?

          • @Morien: It's not just Google. There are other ones.

I just wanted to point out the not so good parts of iPhones. That 14 days stops making sense once the iPhone model is a few months old (because you have to pay RRP). Lots of retailers will offer $250 (and on occasions up to $600) off RRP. It would be silly to waste money just to get that 14 days.

My mate got an iPhone 16 brand new for $600 April this year from JB Hi-Fi. I'm sure Apple still makes a profit. A colleague got an iPhone 15 a year ago for $400 through a special credit card deal.

It's best not to hype up iPhones and avoid caving into paying RRP. We are getting incremental upgrades nowadays. No major improvement on Android phones or iPhones for years now. Apple throwing in 120Hz refresh on base model this year shows Apple is running out of ideas to entice people.

You don't like your current phone, sell it and get a new one. There is no such thing that if you own an Android phone, you must keep it for years.

            • @netsurfer: The 14 days is to see which platform you like. Returning and look for a deal when you decide if it’s a yes or a no. I’m not saying anything more than that.

        • You CAN sell any Android phone, but it often loses its value FAR quicker, especially when new stock is often on HEAVY discounts.
Which doesn’t really matter if you’re in it for the long haul anyway, but if you’d like to at least get a BIT more of a return from your phone purchase, it’s just a better idea to get an iPhone, even a used one.
Although the best value Android phones are flagship devices from a couple years ago sold at bargain bin prices.

I recorded you kiss a girl on an iPhone Air and I like it

    • +1

You're not alone, the Air is selling really well in real life despite getting the least votes on this poll and users have called professional reviewers out of touch with what general consumers value.

      • Yeah I think the Youtube review clan pushing a bit of hate on this product because clicks/likes is a little harsh

Apples always accused of playing it safe and they do, so they toss out this device which is very odd for them

Personally not my cup of tea but its good to see them making something odd that only a percentage of customers will buy, similar to Samsung/Google with the folding phones.
