The lowest I could get using my "Educational Discount" was $1450.

Thats true..
I've bought amost 3 refurbished models and they were just like brand new. The only difference was in packaging. Refurbished models dont come with their original boxes.
the best thing to do is wait for the new version to come out for DSE and Harvey to lower their prices for those old models and then haggle it down a bit.

It's sold out coz the deal has been going on for about a month. The other deal that's sold out is the $1049 2.4 Ghz MacBook Aluminium. That's the best deal IMHO. But keep an eye out at the refurb store and use MoneyBackCo to try and get more discounts. Sometimes they have 1TB Time Capsule for $299. And yes, Apple Refurb are really high quality.

The MBP $1349 only came out this morning. I bought one for myself. I placed my order through Moneybackco. I am not sure how the cashback works. I hope I dont miss out on the extra 4%.
Are you sure?I've been checking the refurb store nearly every day and it was that price a while back. Maybe it was a different price, I forget. Funnily though, the older MacBook is priced at $1499, which is very weird. For other buyers, keep checking the store as new deals come out (and get sold off) pretty quick.
100% sure. I also bought one from them this morning. I placed my order at 7am. There were more such MBP's for sale until 10 this morning.
As downsys suggested, $1049 Aluminium Macbook was the best one they've had in recent past.

I assume thats the new price. Compared to saving $100 and getting a used refurbished one.
