    Just a word of advice; do not buy it for computer listening via soundcard.

    AKGs are pretty darn good cans, but the 700 series MUST have amps, otherwise they sound crap.

      Editing my comment as it seems the 712 has more bass than the 701s, and a different headband and pads, so basically everything I said was irrelevant to these cans :-)

    Dammit, I am really trying not to buy these, I told myself the HD600's would be the only headphones I would ever need. Looks like a really good price too.

      That feels, that feels… I am going through similar experience with owning a HD600 as well. It's really tempting though.

      It's like, I wanna get one for outdoor, one closed one, one IEM, and more indoor ones etc etc… :(

      Their genuine. DWI are a big well known company that's been around for many years. They are legit and quick shipping, but may be a bit dodgy with warranty issues lol.

          Jeez, looks like your right. Did a quick search and it seems AKG have moved production of K712 to Slovakia! Well at least it's not China like K701, K702, Q701 :(

          Slovakia is next to Austria after all, so umm AKG can keep an eye on things maybe.

          @TRANCE: I knew this was the case, but I thought it was Austrian stock, because their website said it was. If I knew, I probably wouldn't have ordered them. They do sound good but I'm not sure how they stack up to an Austrian made pair.

    Build quality on them still seems good, and so far they do sound pretty damn good. I don't think I will send them back but you should edit the description.
