I don't think it will, cooling can only be good for your phone (Its not like it'll go below zero on a hot day with the A/C), I'm more worried about when you have the heater on during winter, don't want to cook the phone. Its not a problem for me though since I have individual controls for each vent so I just close that vent.
I doubt it would cook the phone,
it has to be like heater gun temps to possibly do some damage…
If you can put your hand over the vents then your phone should be fine

I've been through a few vent mount phone holders and this one I picked up in the last few weeks from eBay for $3.59 (inc delivery) seems to work really well.
Not as minimalistic as the Logitech but it wont fall out or drop your phone.
I've just bent four arms to cradle the phone and the other four straight into the vent

Weird thing is I seen the drive mount alone today in store for about $34 but the same thing on there website and I'm im right ebay is over $50 why is this?
This be ok but no need for a iPhone case,would have been great with a s5 case though.
Shame the drive unit is not at same price on ebay as in store today as even cheaper.

Just to confirm. The IP5 +Drive on Dicksmith is identical to the standard +Dirve.
You still get the magnet and the 3m disc. Works really well with my Oneplus One.

@tyler.durden: I put the bugdroid TPU case from Cruzerlite which is pretty similar to the Diztronic. I put the magnet inside the case without peeling the sticker off and it did a pretty good job with the +trip.
I've ordered a +drive as I don't trust the +trip just due to its small size relative to the phone (and it doesn't really fit on the vent of my car)
The case is also pretty protective, doesn't cover the front of screen when not in use but is raised above the screen so facedown the screen doesn't touch a table/desk
do you use a case or stick straight on the back cover?
cos I think the backcover is a weird material/porous that might make it hard to stick
also it would make it look crap

The plate isn't very magnetic under the case but stuck to the back of my textured case very strongly and is low profile, I love it
so if we put the plate under our case instead of on the back of the case
it could fall off or less sticky?
are these magnets neodymium?
I have a pretty thick tpu case, the magnet did not have enough force through the case to hold my z3c up.

Mine is working excellent. Stuck to back of spigen case on note3. Car is lowered on very stiff suspension and country roads, super bumpy and it won't move at all. Very happy

Just picked mine up, also have the big drive+ mount.
I use it with a N5 and the big mount is very strong, you can wave it around it wont come off. This one holds its pretty firmly but not as well as the larger one (for obvious reasons). Was hoping it would be a bit stronger.
Did click and collect and paid with visa. Rang dick smith and they had run out. So disappointing. The store should of reserved it for me

Under NSW law you can only touch your phone while driving or stationary if your phone is in a fixed mount. I dont think this will qualify as a fixed mount.
I've always tended to stay away from them for just that reason. It may be a totally unfounded concern, but I've always figured it was better to be safe than sorry.
