I just found this deal while looking for some drives for a NAS I just ordered, but it's not going to last long.

Deal ends ~5pm EST

And there is a limit of 3per account. I was able to order another drive using a 2nd account I have for US orders (for PSN, etc).

I checked SI and the cheapest was AU$225. I ordered 3 for US$432 including postage(I also ordered other stuff so your postage may come out less), which is about US$144/AU$190. The single drive order came to US$147.21.

  • AEST?

That's about $179.46 aud, which is approx. the price 4TBs have been in the past with a better exchange rate.

    • Ends in 05h 20m 55s from this post, there is a countdown on the site.

  • +1

It is an "okay" deal. The exchange rate kills it at the end (I am getting 1 USD = 1.36 AUD), with each drive costing A$196 delivered.

I could compare them with this for example ($215 per 4TB WD Red with code CTECH20, local warranty and arguable better drives): http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Western-Digital-WD-Caviar-Red-4TB…

    • I will also leave this here ($175.2 delivered, 4TB Toshiba HDD, 1.2M hours MTBF, 600k load/unload cycles): http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Toshiba-MD04ACA400-4TB-7200RP…

Personally, I am going for a 2x 6TB WD Red ($325 each delivered).

    • damn i bought the wd red nas for $272 + discount from pc case gear on sunday. futo was $276 + discount.. BUGGER i should've waited!

  • over the last month, msy has been varying their price for the seagate nas from $225 to $210. if you're not in a rush, should wait another week or so.

  • Not a bad price. I bought the exact same drive around 10 months ago for around the same price from this deal- https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/150408

I haven't had any problems with the drive so far.

  • I'm never ordering a hard drive from Amazon again! I ordered 3 drives with 1 account and a single drive using another account. The single drive arrived first and was packed as a box in a box with the hard drive suspended in the inner box so to protect it from shock/impact damage. If you have bought hard drives before you might be familiar with this system.

The problem was the 3 drives I ordered were taken out of their protective boxes and loosely thrown into a larger box. The anti-static bags were all ripped and you could tell they were flying around in the box during transit! I was hoping for the best and installed them into my new Synology NAS but they all came back with errors and 1 drive is completely dead.

Now I'll have to send them all back, at my cost and get a refund and buy them locally. I'll be loosing money now because of amazon. And this will delay my NAS from getting completed.

This has never happened before. I've ordered multiple hard drives from amazon with no problems, but this incident has put me off ordering anything fragile from amazon.

Wish I could send photos but my internet skills are lacking and most/all photo sharing sites are blocked at work
