  • The deal is really at Aldi, since price matching isn't considered a deal here at OzBargain ,,, but shipping is extra too at Aldi

Success with the price match might also be limited since Dans should include the shipping when matching.

Is it available on the shelves at Aldi?

Hi, sorry if I didn't post it right, however difficult to find on the shelf at Aldi and most Dan's have stock.

Also $1 cheaper, given the ease to pick up at Dans and the extra discount I would consider it a deal. Thanks for the help in amending - would love a + vote

also against the rules to ask for a + vote … ;)

you might want to read the guidelines here for next time https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guidelin…

It's a worthy deal to post and that is reflected in the votes received - its just that price matching is not the deal and that's why a moderator changed it for you.

I find that many of the aldi liquor lines are for online sales only with no stock at most stores … so its good that Dan's has matched or beaten the price without adding shipping.

        Cheers

Cheers, just picked up a case! The guy at the counter put it through as $34.99 without the extra $1 price beat but couldn't be bothered arguing, still an excellent price given it scanned up at $54.99!

Also been told this is Gluten free, it's made on corn

    • the label indeed says that it is made with arroz (rice)

      • Yes, gluten free

        • …. and not made with corn

        • actually maybe its a different beer (Estrella Damm DAURA) that is gluten free (or almost gluten free).

Estrella Damm DAURA beer holds an odd distinction in gluten-free beer circles: it's actually made with barley. According to the brewer, the gluten protein is removed via a proprietary process, leaving a beer that tastes like … well, beer. Its gluten content measures in at less than 6 parts per million, well below the 20 parts per million generally considered to be "gluten-free."

  • Nice one G. Just picked up 3 cases at DM Burwood. Phoned DM customer service and they confirmed manager Chris would honour this. Showed yor receipt at store checkout and the girl matched it without managers consent. Copa del drinking tonight🍻

I'd like to give these a try. Has anyone had luck doing a Dan's price match in a state that doesn't have Aldi? eg SA.

  • My local DM wouldn't price match :(, they said it was store policy that they don't allow to price match online stores only prices.

    • The Aldi price is online and I store. Tell them it's in a local store also.

      • Are you sure it is in Padzyk's local Aldi store?

Are you sure Padzyk even has a local aldi store within 10km of his Dan's store?

Are you even sure it is on the shelf in any Aldi store?

Are you even sure it was ever stocked in any Aldi store in Australia rather than just sold online?

That's the thing with price matching … you need to meet the conditions of the price matching policy or be lucky that the matching store doesn't check.

btw - it is good that people have been able to get a match on this deal and it has been worthwhile for many, and I would probably have tried too if I wasn't already overstocked with beer.

I will give my + vote if someone can tell me they got it in store at Aldi … otherwise everyone has just been fortunate to get it without fully complying with price match terms and conditions. That's not a bad thing - just me being pedantic about exactly what the deal is.

        Cheers

  • Went into Dans with the receipt, and the Aldi ad, yep bought 2 cases. He said if it's a recent add, due to Easter they possibly haven't updated their prices to match Aldi yet.

    Im in Victoria.

Fine by me, easier parking at Dans than Aldi for me.

Not sure if I can taste the "peach and almond with a hint of banana" as per the reviews on Estrella, but a bargain always tastes better.

It wasn't on their shelf, they had cases out the back … space issues happens with low demand items …… just 6 packs in fridge.
