    My order was not received yesterday, here's hoping I get something delivered today. Learnt from my mistake yesterday and only ordered a $20 meal. Free meal or nothing :) hoping for pizza tonight unless DH cancels my order since my pizza joint doesn't open till 5. Thanks OP anyway!

    Step 3: people rage they don't have anything to eat/delivery late
    Step 4: You get cancellation SMS with another coupon saying sorryforsayingsorry20 to use tomorrow
    step 5: raging continues until the new deal comes up tomorrow

    Called the restaurant - said they didn't get the order etc, manager said he would call DH and follow up.
    5 minutes later DH called me to apologise, "Something to do with a trasmission error" and said they will be processing the order now.
    Expecting food in 30 minutes…

    Ah shit, that'll teach me not to look at ozbargain at 8 am perth time. By lunch it's all gone :( The marketers at delivery hero are terrible at their job. How can you so completely underestimate demand and execute so poorly after yesterdays shitty effort…how do people like this get to keep their jobs when there are hardworking people out there desperate for work?

    ok, same thing happened to me. Ordered this morning for delivery at 6:30pm tonight, although i have noted i will pick up. I received email and sms notification from DH. The restaurant actually opens for 2.5hrs during lunch, and after reading everyone's review i called them to check if they've received my order for tonight. They said, no, and asked me to send them the email confirmation and they will call DH to confirm.

    Received a call from the restaurant saying they couldn't get through and asked me to try. They also said this isn't the first time they've had problems with DH. Restaurant said during Easter they were closed but DH claimed they were opened. Poor customers would have been waiting for their food and got none.

    I tried to call them on 1300 464 376, rang but disconnected after a minute or so. So i called the restaurant again, they still hadn't received anything. I asked if they have any other numbers i could call, perhaps a number just for businesses. She gave me 3 of them (one which has been mentioned) and 1300 696 325 and 02 8313 3900.

    I called DH on 02 8313 3900 and got through to someone. Explained my situation and she said she can see my order, but because the restaurant isn't open (according to their system) so they won't receive my order till they open in the evening at 5:30pm. She offered to call restaurant to confirm that my booking is all ok, until i said they were closed atm but could leave a message. She then said, "in that case i won't confuse them, but trust me, your order is definitely placed. Total call time inc ringing/waiting time (4mins23secs) i was probably speaking to a real person for about 2.5 mins.

    After that, I eft a message with the restaurant that i'll see them at 6:30pm. Lets see what happens.

    A lot of hassle, but a good deal if you get your food. Thanks OP.

    They've taken away pre-orders now

    • I pre-ordered today morning at 10.00 AM and got call from restaurant so hope that food will be delivered. Also got food delivered yesterday.

        Looks like, he meant, that there is not this option on the site right now, I've checked it for the place where I ordered and they are closed at the moment There is no an opportunity to make a pre-order as it was in the morning….

        I got mine delivered yesterday too and I pre-ordered this morning - so will see it arrives later..

        But I mean, the restaurants that used to take pre-orders before opening are no longer showing as "pre-order now" instead, "order from.."

  • I couldn't pre order for tonight, so just ordered for the morning delivery and wrote for it to arrive at 6:30pm.

    I got a cancellation email and refund. Though now all the shops are closed so I can't pre order anything?

    I wonder if the original order went through… I guess I won't find out until I call them.

      Mine was much more polite, with a replacement "Unique" voucher of the same value.

  • Just got through to DH, with the 1300 MYMEAL number, told them about the issue and they said that order hasn't actually even been sent to the restaurant, despite pre-ordering at 11:00 for 1pm delivery. Lady on phone was nice and asked whether I would like to cancel the order and she would refund payment and send me a $20 Voucher or contact the restaurant and making a booking ASAP for order to be delivered. Just cancelled order and waiting till next monday to reorder.

    So I have my order cancelled last night, issued with a replacement code to apologise for the mistake and now that code gets posted and (profanity) me over again??
    Ozbargain is really ruining a decent thing delivery hero do for customers by posting the code then every man and his dog jumps on for their free food, then not using the service again until the free deal arises again. After this shamozzle, I'd highly doubt there will be codes anymore.

      On the other hand, I've been sitting on a 30% off Dyson fans code since end of Jan. Works out cheaper than anything else I've seen, hasn't been posted yet, and still works. Just had to get it off my chest (humblebrag)

        Why would you join a community which is built around people sharing bargains, then complain about a shared bargain being too popular and in the same post brag about hoarding a discount code and not using it for 4 months?

        • If you recall the shitstorm that happened last time somebody posted a Dyson code you'll understand why I haven't. And seeing the gripes over these Delivery Hero deals, I stand by my decision.

          For the record, I didn't complain about the deal being too popular. You've confused me with the guy I was replying to.

      I understand your frustration but it's not solely OzBargainers' fault. DH should have issued unique codes to customers. Either they haven't learnt their lesson or their system doesn't support this yet. And if you are questioning the morality of the OP and those ordered food using this coupon then the original coupon posted here yesterday wasn't intended for OZB either. It was meant for their Facebook page subscribers. And we OzBargainers love freebies and pricing errors :)

      Given that you received the code directly from DH you can write back to them asking for a new code as you were not able to use it. It might have caused you some inconvenience but at least few OzBargainers benefited from this post.

        I agree that for some companies a deal going viral could be a good thing if they pre plan and had a better back end system or high demand.

      It's delivery hero's fault for issuing such a large discount that is not unique and they are unable to cope with. We've seen this happen plenty of times for different businesses and it's only after incidents like these they actually learn a thing or two.

      Don't blame "every man and his dog" or ozbargain (both of which include yourself) for delivery hero's faults.

        It does include me but not in the respect I was referring to.
        I've been a regular user of DH with full priced orders for a while now, I'm referring to people who only use the service when they can gets something for free (or next to).

        Hoping they learn from this and create account targeted single use codes from now on, rewarding regular users over this.

    I have to say an earlier poster nailed it when essentially they said that DH, in attempting to promote and strengthen their brand has ended up spending whats sure be a crapload of money, pissed off countless restaurant owner clients and worst of all massive numbers of the general public! I'm also sure the DH staff are absolutely stressed to the max as well!

    I don't think I've ever seen a more poorly thought out promotional campaign than this. Whoever was in charge really needs a strong dressing down over making the same bone headed mistake twice and administering it in a manner than only damaged all their stakeholders.

    AT BEST this whole exercise seems like a 'damage recovery' exercise rather than the actual promotion, brand builder I'm sure it was envisaged as. Incredibly poor on almost every level.

    I called the restaurant and they said they did not receive any orders. So DH has decided to pull the plug on my order — twice. This is getting more and more silly now.

    I hope they will issue refunds asap. I paid by paypal and have opened disputes on both cases. I've tried contacting them by email, facebook and phone multiple times and they have not responded. Frustrated :(

      Follow up

      I wish to retract my post above… my food has actually showed up tonight, even though I called them a few hours ago and they said they have not received any orders from DH!

      It was 1/2 hour late and I've literally just had my dinner. But regardless I'm really happy and surprised, and at least dinner for tomorrow is sorted!

      I have cancelled the paypal dispute for this transaction but have kept the first one. I still have not heard from them about that yet.

      Finally, I've noticed that many of the restaurants have listed as "closed", including the one that I've just received my order from. Could it be because they've also been inundated with calls regarding their customers' delivery hero orders and have decided to withdraw from the site?

    After reading all these comments, I called up the pasta place to find out mine had also not gone through.
    Called DH, on indefinite hold, went on the DH site to use live chat, also closed.

  • Managed to get through to them on the phone and have been advised my order was cancelled (even though I received no notification). They said they would email me a $20 sorry voucher… not sure if I'm confident in their system for this to work, but I will give them another try.

    Pre-ordered dinner at 9:30 am for 7pm delivery, have been worried reading all these negative comments but I've just received a call from the I restaurant I ordered from confirming my order. So I'm assuming it's not all DH's fault..

    I got a confirmation email but no SMS. Got both last night but it was cancelled. Hope you guys who missed out completely get a code or something.

    Can't say I'll be using these guys again after the headache of relying on it for dinner last night and having to go rice cakes with peanut butter when it didn't show.

    I used this coupon today after missing out yesterday and it WORKED! I pre-ordered for 6:30pm and it just arrived 50 minutes early :D So it actually worked. I paid $10.60 extra by Mastercard.

    • I ordered earlier this morning, received email conformation about an hour later, I have just received a text conformation. Here's hoping my dinner will arrive in the next 15 minutes

    To add to the confusion - there doesnt appear to be much regularity/conformity to the results - I made a $40 order with Grumpy's (Drummoyne, Sydney) at 10:30am today Wed 08/04 with 'tuessorry20' for delivery at 5:30pm - buzzer rang spot on 530pm, and all is well with my delivery. Excellent food, big servings, great flavour. Seems very random with people's results, hugely disappointing public reaction, DH!
    Sorry to those that did not get their stuff sorted as expected (mine was messed up last night). Good luck to everyone else!

    Interestingly, even though my order was not received all day by the restaurant when i last checked at 5pm, it must have only recently gone through as i just received my order.

  • My restaurant doesn't open till 5pm, and I pre-ordered 3 orders for tonight at 6pm, but here's the interesting part:
    1) Email 1 Order placed with BITE20 code yesterday morning
    2) Email 2 Order placed with BITE20 code yesterday lunchtime
    3) Email 1 Order placed with TUESSORRY20 code last night

    and I get an order cancelled email on Email 2 citing the TUESSORRY20 code…

    Now to see what order/s the restaurant actually got!

    SO my order was cancelled and I had placed it at something like 10am.. So looks like I'll be raising a paypal dispute to get a refund.
    Looks like a bait and switch to me. It's safe to say I'll never bother with these guys again. They seem pretty unreliable. I wish I could reverse my positive into a neg. Delivery Hero ? More like Delivery Villain !

  • Ordered at 11AM for 7PM and am yet to receive either email or sms confirmation. However, just rang restaurant and they have the order. So… yeah, not the best systems setup at the backend I guess.

    Email contains what looks like a unique code. I don't get it - why not just honour it?

    Called the restaurant and they didn't get my order and couldn't contact DH. They offered to deliver my order but I felt bad if DH screws them over and doesn't pay them, so asked them to try ringing again..

      Technically this code was for those that missed out last night…even though I know some people managed to score with both codes.

      You're still $20 up which isn't bad. Still annoying if you were counting on this for dinner but many didn't have any luck either night.
