GTA V PC - $38.99 AUD (Non Steam) @ Nuuvem

910

All credit goes to a few different comments over a couple of different posts.

Only steam and EB games (thanks to poster below) offers steam version, however it will launch and require login to rockstar anyway, so I was happy to skip having it in my steam library to save paying ~$75 USD for a game ive already played heaps on PS4.

Use hola to bypass the aussie tax. credit to endee for this suggestion.

Any questions leave a comment and Ill explain further, worked perfect for me and im pre downloading it now.

  • bit the bullet and bought this a few hours ago.

No code yet which is a pain in the arse, but I am confident I'll get it soon

    False confident that is

Note says keys available on Monday.

Its Monday here, but still Sunday or even late Saturday there

I feel bad expecting to get what I pay for instantly.

  • also just bought it…kinda hard to justify $75USD when you can do this

  • +2

So… Just got home from work.
Purchased around 7:45pm last night (Sunday)

    7:45pm Sunday 12/04 EST = Brazil time of 6:45am 12/04 Sunday
I emailed support 2hours later, at about Brazil Time 10am.

    Got an response from support:
"Unfortunately, due to the great demand, we have run out of keys for GTA V. =(

But don't worry! We have already requested a new batch of keys to Rockstar and as soon as we received the keys it will be available in your Nuuvem account. We hope that this will happen by tomorrow.

For any further help, don't hesitate to get in touch with us."

The note that "Payday" is referring to is:
"Due to high demand the GTA V exhausted keys, but do not be discouraged! During this period you can continue shopping normally and so the keys are available, applications that have not yet received the key will have the standard delivery. We expect GTA V keys are available from Monday, 04/13/2015. In case of cancellation of purchase, please notify us through our support and do not access your account Nuuvem to try to view the GTA V key, it will not be possible to cancel the order if it happens."

So now it's about 4am in Brazil.
I hope to get it by 12am 14/02 AEST (2am at the latest) to take advantage of iinet off-peak for the 60gb's.
2am AEST will be Brazil Monday 13/04 1pm.

    Fingers crossed

    • Ordered one key today at 9:45am (Perth time) and I just received it 10 minutes ago. I also ordered a second key just now and I received it instantly

  • +1

    Just got it!!!!!
    WOOOOOOOOT!!!!

  • +2

Me too! I'm so f'n excited. Is it wrong to be in my 30's and be this excited about a game?

    • +3

      Not at all

  • Ordered early this morning, just got my key now.

  • Just ordered and the key was listed in my Nuuvem games list instantly. Now I play the waiting/sleeping game.

  • 20 minutes to go, hope it works!!

    • +1

Everyone's got their warm milk and 79c Scotch Finger biscuits prepared, several empty bottles and two empty buckets on hand, and holding their breath.

      • and still find myself downloading a 360MB patch @ 200kb/sec…..another 30minutes to go

        • 150kb/sec

        • Damn it, got to the end of the patch, then got a message saying Rockstar servers were down and a retry button lol. Starting the patch again.

  • +2

Just finished downloading all the new patches, already playing————-it works perfectly for me!! Thanks again OP!! =) =) =)

  • How quickly are people getting the key's sent today?

  • Finished the first two missions have been let lose. Flew a plane.

Gotta find the right graphics options for my 7970 3GB Card. Have maxed out most but it fps dips below 30 in certain places.

  • I can't load the first mission (even the cutscene) or run a benchmark without the error 'failed zlib call: please reboot or reinstall game".

Looks like it's a common problem also.

Game was delayed 3 months for bug fixes and there's client side problems preventing loading on launch day? This isn't on, Rockstar.

    • Same here but was able to play first mission. cbf re-installing, hopefully will release a fix

      • It could possibly be a result of our Windows login names having characters other than alphanumeric.

My Windows login name does contain a dash (-), so that may have something to do with it, does yours?

How did Rockstar stuff that one up?

        http://i.imgur.com/f2OH3Nz.png

        • How ridic- big mistake I'm thinking most people have a dash (-) in their username (as its Windows default to make it Yourname-PC)

        • @MemE:

          "Guys I FOUND THE FIX!

Re-Install the last patch using this file… It worked for me and I'm playing now!

          https://mega.co.nz/#!b9YH2a7J!—mcJar5NaPNE_5PIql1rG7k0MQDAGq…

Copied from a post that just popped up in the first link you posted (I have been refreshing it every few minutes incase someone did find a fix).

          Trying it now.

        • @c0balt:
Needs a password to open the link…

        • @ycon:

Weird, i just clicked on it and now it needs a decryption key, but in another window I am downloading it fine.

I stopped downloading it when I realised it was a .exe file anyway. I don't trust it.

        • @c0balt: I'm in gta online now, seems to be running fine. Maybe just the story that crashes…

        • @MemE:

          Not working for me.

I am going to uninstall and then reinstall using the files I had backed up during the pre-load.

          EDIT:
Still has the same problem. My money is on the .rpf files being corrupted during pre-load. Screw Rockstar for not implementing a checksum check on the files as they were downloaded.

I'll have to wait for Rockstar to provide a fix or I'll download all 60GB from Mega.

  • I've downloaded all 60GB's, but the GTA V launcher now says "The game failed to connect to the Internet".

Do we have to wait until it's released in that South American 14/4 or should it be working?

  • +5

OK so I found a fix for the zlib errors!

So basically I used the method from here: http://www.reddit.com/r/GrandTheftAutoV_PC/comments/328ljj/f…

I noticed that all my file sizes were identical, but when I used WinMD5 to manually checksum the .rpf files that one of my main files came up with a different value (in my case it was x64f.rpf).

So it turns out you can just delete the files that have a bad MD5 checksum and the launcher will start to download them again, no need to uninstall the game.

Rockstar had not properly implemented a checksum verification amoungst other things in their launcher which is a real shame as it would have caused countless thousands of hours of people's time around the globe to be lost. About 6 hours lost for me to figure out a solution and then get the game up and running, but it sure beats having to redownload the whole 60GB from scratch (which was the official Rockstar response https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/20477545… - pathetic).

    • Thankyou!

File sizes were fine but did the MD5 thing and x64h.rpf didn't match. Deleted, downloaded again and it works now :D

    • Thank you! :)

My game crashed during the first car mission. Found a mismatched checksum thingy for one of the files, renamed it, and the launcher re-downloaded it straight away.

      Now working perfectly!

Just posting to say the nuuvem codes are still active etc. Got mine instantly no problems and i'm now on the DL .

Thanks OP and posters for the extra info.

  • There's some sort of issue with the benchmark…
It says Mission failed when the Plane sequence begins.

  • Nuuvem is showing the game as being Unavaliable. Does this mean it's expired?

  • +1

Just posting to say the Nuuvem codes were active till around 10pm AEST last night. Got mine instantly no problems and i'm now on the DL .

Thanks OP and all posters for the extra info <<<<<<

Nuuvem is now showing the game as being Unavaliable, maybe they'll get some codes again soon for anyone who is yet to order?

Ya same was going to purchase it but can't add it to my cart. Game indisponível = Game unavailable Very Sad :(((

    • Yeah it says its unavailable as well for me :(

  • +2

I got this reply from support
Unfortunately, due to the great demand, we have run out of keys for GTA V. =(

But don't worry! We have already requested a new batch of keys to Rockstar and we expect that GTA V will come back available again along this week.

So if some hope we might see some more keys this week yahoo. Fingers crossed!!!

  • How do we get the bonus $850,000 cash? And which character gets it?

    • Well I think the bonus money was only valid for the pre-order, so if you're buying the game now you prolly won't get it. And the money goes to Franklin.

The actual split was $500,000 for Grand Theft Auto 5 and $700,000 for GTA Online.

      • I bought it the day before ( or maybe day of) launch. So where do i redeem the cash?

        • When you activated the key on Social Club, did the 'confirm activation' pop-up list the cash bonuses? If not, you've likely missed out on them.

If the confirmation did list the bonuses, then within the first few minutes of the Story (you're running around as Franklin) a notification pops up in the corner of the screen to let you know the cash bonus has been redeemed, and Franklin will have $500k.

I imagine a similar thing would happen in Online.

  • FWIW, a friend recommended this site for games, they have what is claimed to be a Steam activatable key for $60 (assumedly) Aussie dollars.

    http://www.locogamingworld.com/collections/cd-keys/products/…

    • Has he actually used the site before? That's really cheap for a steam version

      • He has. They are located in South Australia.

    • There are no Steam keys for this game. Only Rockstar Social Club keys.

If the copies sold on that site do actually activate on Steam then they can only be Steam Gifts and I would advise to stay away from them.

Scammers were bulk buying them from Vietnamese Steam store for about $40 USD using stolen credit cards and selling them on trading forums at cost to move them quick. The last couple days I've seen countless reports of these copies getting removed from users libraries due to "payment issues", no doubt because the card owners saw the charges on their accounts and filed chargebacks with their banks.

At this point I wouldn't trust any Steam Gift copy of the game unless it was personally purchased by someone I know.

Edit: Suppose I should leave some sort of source :P

As it's a known scam, if you purchase a Steam Gift via PayPal then you have buyer protection (falls under virtual items).

So you don't have to personally know the person if paying via PayPal.

        • PayPal buyer protection doesn't apply to virtual goods.

          PayPal Buyer Protection Policy

        • -2

          @kamoi:

Buyer Protection != buyer protection. Just because an item is ineligible for 'Buyer Protecion', the funds are still able to be claimed back if there is a problem. 'Buyer Protection' is just a certified label given to registered sellers. A person can still file a dispute and get their money back if they buy from a seller who hasn't been certified for "Buyer Protecion", which is the clause you were looking at.

Maybe you should have a better look under the 'digital goods' section of the page you linked. Specifically the 'claiming a digital goods refund'.

          https://cms.paypal.com/au/cgi-bin/marketingweb?cmd=_render-c…

Yes, they do cover virtual items, and not just from registered sellers such as Steam, or Origin. The process of filing a dispute to get your money back is right there under your nose.

Maybe read your own links and maybe do research (such a a simple google search 'how do I get a paypal refund for a digital item') before you downvote correct information.

          Here's a couple:
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1974779 (read the last post, as everyone was saying similar things to you and them BAM! PayPal refund confirmed by the OP).

https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Disputes-and-claims-Arch… (good communication with PayPal and having proof of delivery, activation and more will get you a refund on a virtual item).

        • @c0balt: If you had any experience in having to deal with PayPal regarding virtual goods you wouldn't be saying any of the things you are. Take it from someone who has been buying and selling virtual goods since 2003.

'Buyer Protection' is just a certified label given to registered sellers. A person can still file a dispute and get their money back if they buy from a seller who hasn't been certified for "Buyer Protecion", which is the clause you were looking at.

That just goes to show how little you actually know about the process. A seller doesn't have to be "certified" for buyer protection. In fact such a certification doesn't even exist. Buyer protection applies regardless of who you buy from provided that certain conditions are met.

Yes, they do cover virtual items, and not just from registered sellers such as Steam, or Origin. The process of filing a dispute to get your money back is right there under your nose.

The option "Games: Virtual Goods" when filing a dispute really only serves one purpose. It fast tracks your dispute rejection. I've had disputed closed in the sellers favour in under 2 minutes from when I submitted them. Sometimes I wonder if there is even a person on the other end looking at it.

Also, the table you linked to showing refunds for purchases under $10, well that's only from sellers which have been approved by PayPal for micropayments. A site like LocoGamingWorld certainly does not qualify and you would be "crazy" to think it does. (pun intended)

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1974779 (read the last post, as everyone was saying similar things to you and them BAM! PayPal refund confirmed by the OP).

Confirmed? You call the following a confirmation?

It has been 2 weels now, the case is still open and being investigated by Paypal but most likely I'll win

After failing through PayPal dispute process "twice" he went to the bank and filed a chargeback. PayPal was not his friend here.

https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Disputes-and-claims-Arch… (good communication with PayPal and having proof of delivery, activation and more will get you a refund on a virtual item).

This one was also filed through the bank as a chargeback. PayPal != Your Friend

The chargeback is out of PP's hands but most credit card companies are more fair these days when presented with factual evidence showing fraud from their client.

Oh and I downvoted because the information is incorrect :P

Maybe read your own links and maybe do research (such a a simple google search 'how do I get a paypal refund for a digital item') before you downvote correct information.

  • Still Game unavailable Hope they get some keys next week?

  • People in GTA Online in Nutshell :
Arsehole, knobhead, little nagger and Kid in puberty with squeaky high-pitch voice

  • Havn't heard a bad person yet. Done a bunch of missions and as usual there are a bunch of unskilled people (no freeaim is certainly harder) but I have not come across anyone being a prick on the MIC.

    But generally yes.

No one wants to talk to anyone else, so heists are tough, no one trusts anyone even though we are a pretty friendly community

  • I bought my key last week from eleswhere for $60 as I thought it wouldn't come back into stock, but it has and its also 10% off bringing it down to about $35.
    Oh well, it's only money!
