would be useful to know % of each ingredient. regardless doesnt seem like a bargain to me

    • Hi edqinlin88, it is:

90% protein, 8% real fruit (freeze dried) and 2% green tea extract

Vanilla Forest Fruits has 4% real blueberry fruit & 4% real blackberry fruit.

Choc Banana has 8% real banana. Hope this answers your question

      • -1

        90% protein??

Your nutritional labels for Chocolate Banana state 72.6% protein per 100g.
        Vanilla Forest Fruits state 73.2%

        • +3

90% whey protein as a proportion of the product ingredients, of which has essential & nonessential minerals, carbohydrates, naturally occuring sugars, etc. 73.2% protein (of total content is correct).

" fat burning Green Tea Extract"

    Bullshit. cf: Peter Foster.

    • -3

Terrys, green tea extract is well known for its health and fat burning properties. Need to do your research.

Health Shakes Australia stands against using artificial fat burning chemicals that may have unknown side effects. These shakes are the natural alternative to tone up

      • +3

Actually, it's the other way around.

Most of the time, we have no idea what the composition of 'natural' ingredients are.

Artificial, synthetic or lab-tested ingredients are thoroughly tested and developed. The dosage is perfectly formulated, the chemical makeup is known, and the side effects are well documented (if there are any).

'Natural' does not automatically mean 'good'.

OzBargain-ers are generally not the target demographic for Green Tea Snake Oil.

I would love to see the research that suggest green tea extract has fat burning properties.

Think about what you are suggesting. That green tea extract can somehow defy physics and change your metabolism so much that it can get your system to use fat as energy even though there isn't a requirement for your system to do so. Green tea has an impact as an appetite suppressant due to the caffeine in it and research shows that the changes in metabolism are so insignificant it doesn't matter.

Generally these things work because they make people feel full with less calories so they lose weight that way. You don't need to spout bullshit so people think it's a magical fat burning drink, the way you are selling it just means people will fail at their goals as they will have this on top of their current bad eating habits rather than replacing a bad meal.

        Need to do your research

I am a biologist gilfish70, and I will lay long odds that you are not. You health claims are unfounded, without basis, and unless things have changed enormously, a breach of Australian health and consumer laws. "Green Tea burns fat" is a phrase infamous for being invariably a claim by gullible new agers flim-flam artists and fraudulent chancers. Had you merely claimed to be selling a nicely flavoured milk powder, no problems, but repeating that " fat burning" rubbish straight from the sales blurb makes you post a claim that is, in the interest of the public, one to be called out.

Maybe it's time to move it up a notch - and possibly suggest the amount of "green tea" in this bag of milk-powder is such as to constitute a homeopath[et]ic dose…?

  • +1

also, with 10% off, 2 packs of it doesnt qualify for free shipping, making it the incentive to buy three….

im not bagging out your product, just dont consider this worthy of being considered a bargain. it is a promotion.

  • +3

Wouldn't it be far cheaper to drink Green Tea then?

I can not see why anyone would pay the "special" price of $60 for Green Tea when you can get it from Coles for under $5.

The only benefit from drinking this, is making your wallet lighter.

  • +2

Green Tea extract in high doses has good antioxidant properties with the side effect that it could cause liver damage/failure. In low doses it pretty much does nothing.

There is 0 evidence that it will help you burn fat (which is also a flawed statement as you don't actually burn fat but that's another thing altogether)

That said, a bargain is a bargain so…

    • Except this is clearly not good value.

  • Made with snake oil?

    • unicorn milk

      • Low fat or regular?

        • regular

  • I'd bite with 15% + free shipping

actually no i wouldnt wtf am i thinking

  • +1

Green tea only helps for people who don't drink any caffeine normally, and also has to be in very high doses. See -http://examine.com/supplements/Green+Tea+Catechins/

There's no data on their website saying the mg of green tea extract so it would be pretty hard to call this fat loss protein

  • +6

    Nearly $90 a kilo
    Lol!

You could buy the most ridiculous overhyped fancy weigh + enough green tea to kill a panda for half of that.

    • +1

yeh id pay around the $30 mark for a KILO to try (with free shipping)… not $30 for 350g
