For those that missed out on Big W's one day special of $99 K-mart has gone even better plus running the special for a whole week. This is the cheapest I have seen a new slim anywhere so I would think they should fly out the door. They will be giving these things away soon the way they are going.
It should be just the basic console with 1 controller (whatever the Big W deal was)
it also depends on tv. Despite huge plasma/LCD sales, lot of people are still using old CRTs (thanks to TV stations), which may be why Wii still not come up with good graphics.

the Wii will never have "good" graphics if HD is what you are looking for. Hardware wise it just isn't capable of it and they will need a new console to rectify that.
That said, titles like Mario Galaxy ect look fine to me as long as you don't expect games to compare well to the 360 equivalent.
I doubt it was a lack of HD sets so much as a cost decision and a wanting to separate themselves from MS and Sony and not try and compete on their terms. Whether thats payed of is debatable. The console and 1st party titles have sold well but many if not all third party titles seem to have a much harder time.
I certainly enjoy my wii now, but wii will be HD eventually (2011 as per heardsun : http://www.heraldsun.com.au/lifestyle/technology/world-favou… )
That'd be a whole new console though, as i said, even if it is backwards compatible. As with other consoles I doubt the HD content will run on the current Wii, you'd need the upgrade. It's a no brainer that they are working on a HD console.

Good for a cheap system to entertain the kids. Games are really cheap and they sill release new games. Get this one for them, since kids don't care about the picture quality quality and high resolution gaming.
