lol bad deal. $295 annual fee.
I guess decent if u were gonna get the card anyawy. but wouldnt consider it a bargain

I prefer the $0 annual fee intro offers (e.g. qantas amex ultimate)

    • deals like these should really highlight the cost of the card in the title.

    • The free flight for reserve can be worth like 700 dollars easy

      • yeh i guess if u want to fly to the furthest place u can with it at peak period
I suppose u can consider it a free flight.

        • Even off peak at short notice, just as long as there is a virgin saver fare svailable. This card gets you to nz from East Coast and Bali from Perth I think.

Are the customers who already have other amex eligible for this promo?

    • no.

    • TLDR: No.

Not worth to apply, most shops wont accept Amex Card or extra fee for using the card.

  • i just checked EA do have a similar offer. not a bad card if u want 2 free virgin flight to NZ timed during renewal of annual fee

    • Electronic Arts do credit cards now?

  • Can apply for the Gold Card - it's $0 Annual Fee :)

I have the CPA gold card for the sake of getting promotional statement credit offers that Amex often have lately, it will not be my main credit card.
I don't like how they have the 3-2-1 points system because I often use the card for retail shopping. I don't have a car and rarely travel. Paying utilities I think better off with Citibank Platinum Rewards with 1.25 points for every dollar spend.

You will earn 3 Membership Rewards Points for every dollar you spend in Australia at restaurants listed here.
You will earn 2 Membership Rewards Points for every dollar you spend on Airlines, accommodation, major cruises and tour operators paid directly or through travel agents listed here and on spend in foreign currency when overseas and online.
You will earn 1 Membership Rewards Point for every dollar you spend in Australia on insurances offered by American Express and at all other providers, excluding merchants classified as: "utilities" including gas, water and electricity providers; "government" including the Australian Taxation Office, the Australian Postal Corporation (Australia Post), federal/state and local government bodies; "insurance", excluding insurances offered by American Express; and “telecommunications” including goods and services purchased from phone, mobile and internet service providers, where you will earn 0.5 Membership Rewards Points.
