    27 inch.. 1080p na

    • not high enough resolution for your needs?

      • 27 inch with 1080p looks really bad. Images are blurry due to low dpi. 27 inch is better with at least 1440p.

          We've got a 27" 1080p monitor at work. The lady using it loves it as it can be placed farther back on her desk and still be easy to read. So they do have their uses. :)

        • @eug: True not denying that it is still useful but for personal use I would recommend getting a higher resolution one :)

        • @eug:
          We have deep (1m) desks at work, with monitors bracket-mounted at the back of the desk to free up all the desk surface. It can get squinty at times.

          Also a lot of laptops don't support resolutions above 1080p especially if you're docking to dual external monitors.

        • @Letrico: That monitor was actually my personal one. I sold it to the office because … I couldn't stand the low ppi. I'm glad some people don't mind!

        • I picked up a 1440p 27" last week… Forget about images, even the text on OzBargain looks slightly blurry when it's set at 1080p. :|

          Use it next to a 1080p 24" and it's like either the text on my 24" is oversized now, or the text on the 27" is undersized. :P But at least text is crisp on either one when they run at their native resolutions. :)

          @WorkAround:

          To be fair if it's not the native resolution it's never going to look as good.

          @WorkAround: LCD monitors really don't work properly at non-native resolutions. If you want bigger text then change the text size - not the resolution.

          @DrStinge:

          Fair point - didn't realise. :o Hopefully text on a 1080p 27" doesn't look as fudged as what I saw when I changed my resolution (to see what all the fuss was about). At first I felt like the smaller text/icons on 1440p was a big change but I've gotten used to it over the week (thankfully, would've felt like a bad purchase otherwise).

          @macrocephalic:

          Actually, an even division of the native resolution generally looks alright. But that's fairly limited, at least until 3840x2160 becomes more common. The other common resolution where halving makes sense is 3200x1800 to 1600x900 - I do that for gaming sometimes.

  • It was $258 a day before. I was about to buy it but decided to buy the 28" 4k for $486 instead.
