Not a joke, actually.
Slap on a magsafe case, stick on a magsafe battery.
Man, look at how thin the phone is lol.
That's what she said.
Well yeah it was already $999 and the s26 edge comes out in January.
$1,224.40 on epp only for the Titanium Icyblue, 512 GB
Additionally, if you go to the reviews of this phone on the same page. And sort them as recent wise, most of the reviews that I saw were paid/incentivised or part of a promotion.
I wonder why Samsung had to do this much.I wonder why Samsung had to do this much
For OzBargain edition, ask Evatech.
Is this better than pixel pro 9
This phone is dead in the water.
basically a vanity project
pay more for a phone thats only a few mm thinner..
then put a case on it to protect it.. which loses the size advantage
Less a vanity project and more a "Samsung did it first" to one-up Apple as they likely found out that Apple was planning such a phone themselves.
Then firesale it to devalue the product class.

Wouldn't say it's a vanity project, it's not garnered any real positive press or attention for Samsung.
I think it's more of a design / engineering demonstration for the technology which eventually made its way into the Z Fold 7. Having had the chance to handle both over the past day, it's very apparent that they share very similar DNA.

I'm a bit torn on the "thin" aspect - having used this phone a fair bit (and I cycle through phones a lot), it is strikingly thin and strikingly light - I don't use cases, so I definitely feel the thinness a lot more. It's not just the thinness, but also the weight. It's a big phone that feels a lot more like a small phone because of how easy it is to move around in the hand. It's nice to fidget with, when I pull my S24 Ultra back out, it feels like a brick.
But on the other hand, the "thin" aspect is all just a distraction. It's still a decent value phone even ignoring that. The "pay more" is hardly even accurate. Hard to compare Samsung prices as they are always shifting, but as a point of comparison, the S25+ 256GB was ~$1,100 (see https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/910329), and was a popular deal, with the S25 Edge 256GB being cheaper at ~$969 (see https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/914502).
Yes, you get a 3,900 mAh (vs. 4,800 mAh) battery, and you lose the telephoto lens (which, as a reminder, the base iPhone doesn't have either) for ~$130 less. Even ignoring the "thin" aspect, the value still comes out about the same as other members of the S25 family.
Battery is too small. Price is too high .
Apparantly we're all going to get used to this. S26 is rumoured to use the edge design for the base, plus and ultra
Ultra will have the same battery size at least though
I traded mine in for a other ultra. This phone burned through battery the first two weeks. At least 150% each day. Then battery settled down. Screen good.
It was the camera that was the tipping point, missing the 12meg zoom camera. The resale value is so low now even when it was two weeks after release. Wouldn't recommend.Any voucher can be used?
Anyone know what edu pricing is for 256 GB and 512 GB?
Going out on a limb here; this phone will be sub-$800 in the Black Friday sales, maybe before.
