  • Hi there,

do you have any data sim cards that will work for both Japan and Korea? We will be there for 14 days (10 days in Japan and 4 days in Korea).

  • Hi yimp,
No specific data card that will work for both unfortunately! These are for Japan only.

  • +1

Just come back from Japan. I ordered a b Mobile 1G visitor sim card for 3980 yen on 16/3 and it worked out only A$43.2. With today's rate, it is only A$42.8.

$55 is definitely not a deal!

    • It says on their site about speed restrictions if you use more than 360mb over 3 days. Did you have any problems at all? Were speeds like telstras 3g? All ok for browsing, maps, voice over data like Skype?

      • B Mobile is pretty good, there is a internal version and local version (must have local sim to activate it).

      • +1

I bought the b-mobile VISITOR SIM 1GB prepaid and used it for checking email, Google translate, maps, Whatsapp, a bit of VOIP and some internet search. Never had any problem with the speed and connection.

        • Thanks for this.

      • I used the 14 day one. Was pretty great overall, coverage didn't seem to be an issue (Tokyo, Yokohama, Kamakura, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya) and speedwise probably similar to 3G here.

Delivered to hotel when I arrived and easy setup too. Would use again when travelling there.

      Hi gm3stevens!
I hope you realize that b Mobile works off the Docomo network - except it's data is capped. Our Docomo card has fast 4G (first 200MBs of each day + all the 3G data you experience is not capped at "up to 300kbps".
Couple that with free delivery before you even leave and have everything ready and tested. A better product and more convenience. Oh and the card is well below RRP from retail price in Japan - so yeah a bargain!

      • I have to remember you folk closer to the end of the year. Planning on going to Japan at end of year but it's too early at the moment, need to book flights etc so I know exact time we are going.
        Good to know you exist.

      • +1

OK. I agree. The b-mobile sim is not a good choice for the heavy user who needs unlimited fast 4G speed.
However, if you are on holiday and just need a data sim to check email, Google translate, maps, Whatsapp, a bit of VOIP and some internet search, then it is good enough. In fact, the b-mobile 1GB prepaid is a better choice than the b-mobile 14 days unlimited prepaid. I never used up the 1G data in the fortnight.
As long as you place an order online 4days in advance, prior to your arrival in Japan, b-mobile will do the free delivery to your hotel.

Thanks for the info and your experience gm3stevens! It is a very good and interesting service they run. I think most who like heavy data or peace of mind would like our service but could definitely see where your preference derives from. Very good insight! Most of us wish we were disciplined enough to only use 1GB in a fortnight :)

  • Do these work with a normal mobile? I heard Japan has a different type of mobile network

    • It will! You will just have to make slight APN setting configurations on your phones (easy instructions come with the card!)

  • how long does delivery take?

    • Hi Ubs, We dispatch all orders next business day. We offer free standard postage on all orders, this usually takes 5-7 business days. If you're travelling soon we suggest to purchase the express post option for a small charge of $3.95. Express post takes 1 business day for delivery.

      • if i buy today with normal post, will i get it before 1st May? im in Chatswood NSW 2067

        • Definitely will mate!

  • How long does delivery typically take?
I leave for Japan on Friday night.

Hi legiong, If you place your order now and purchase the express post option, you can expect delivery on Tuesday : )

      • I ordered 1 yesterday with express post, I'm really hoping it gets here by tomorrow.

      • Hi,
I bought the unlimited docomo SIM card for Japan.
I put it in my phone just now and I have a couple of problems.
1st is that the SIM card isn't detected by my phone (HTC One M7).
2nd is that the SIM card won't eject.

I now need to get a phone repair shop to remove the SIM and possibly buy another.

Is there anything you can do to help or any advice you can offer?

…I tried PM'ing you but as I'm overseas I can't start a conversation with you.

        • Did it eventually work out for you?

I also have a M7 and am considering the Docomo sim

        • +1

          @vtdin1:
          No it never worked out.
I have to take the phone in to get repaired now I'm back in Australia.
I can't say exactly what the problem was until I get it repaired. Personally I thought the quality of the SIM adapters were terrible. But it might just have been me being crap.

I decided to buy an M8, I wish I got it before going to Japan because it takes nano SIM standard.

        • @legiong:

          Cheers for the reply :)

  • Hi there, do you have a DoCoMo SIM option for 21 days instead of 14?

    • Hi andywana,
No unfortunately only the 14 day or 7 day options. The best thing we could suggest is making a combo of the 2 products to last 21 days or more.
      Thanks!

  • Will my Samsung S4 & S5 be compatible with the Softbank 7-day SIM card? Is it a micro-SIM?

    • Hi cardiology,
Yes our Softbank SIMs are compatible with the Samsung S4 and S5. We have SIMs in all sizes (Standard, Micro, Nano)

  • +3

I don't have any need for this product at this point, but I like how this rep answers questions.

  • Hi REP, I am going to Japan at the end of September. When do I need to buy the Sim.
How does the expiry work, when does the 14 days start?

  • Hi deal88,
At this stage we will be ordering new stock at different stages which will have different expiry dates. Usually about 2 months before your departure we will have stock available for your travel period. So if you checked back around mid-June there will be a DoCoMo card covering your September trip!
The cards need to be activated (i.e. started to be used in Japan) before specific dates (usually 2-3 months ahead).
Hope that clears things up a bit for you!

  • Hi rep,

I ordered this last night and just wanted to make sure it was posted today. Have also sent you a Facebook message with my email used to order!

    Thanks :)

    • Hi mustard, yes your order was dispatched today : )
