  • thanks, ordered 2,was hoping I could score another d.s 6 port for $13 but this is a much better deal

  • Good deal for pick up but damn, shipping is $13 to Sydney!

  • Thanks - Awesome bargain lplau ! - I just ordered 5 of them - shipping was $17.86 total for 5 to Syd plus they charge a 1.5-2.5% CC proc fee.

    • !!!! Cancelled my order said it was a promo and sold out in 30 minutes - that's BS it wasn't advertised as such. I want compensation ! I'm taking them on with the authorities - nobody rips off a cheapskate !
Will also put a neg report onto them not honouring orders at ProductReview.com.au and encourage you all to do so.

  • Ahhhh just bought an iPad from landmark yesterday, could have combined shipping :(

  • Bought one, thanks OP, been looking for a good power board deal.

    • They also cancelled my order :(

  • Appears to be gone now?

  • OOS???

  • probably a price error

    • +2

I can confirm it isn't a price error, as I have ordered it 2 days ago, and they have emailed me to come pick them up. Price charged was $12 each.

  • Good bargain! Bought one for pickup

  • +1

These lookgreat but I can't find them on the landmark website.

Maybe all sold? At that price, wouldn't be surprising. I paid 54 bucks last week for 2xDSmith 6 plug boards on a two for one deal. At least they have some surge insurance for connected devices to soften the significant price difference.

      Marked as expired. OZBARGAINED.

Forgot to mention, These should have $50,000 Connected Equipment Guarantee
Then again pretty much all of them are BS in terms of the guarantee. Plenty of posts on whingepool about companies finding some small clause to weasel themselves out of paying up.

Bought one in-store at Melbourne CBD about 20mins ago

    • Anymore in stock?

      • Didn't ask, worth a try if you're in the cbd

    • Did you have to order online first?

      • Nah went straight to the store, apparently minimun $15 for card or 2% surcharge but the guy let it go

        • Order online to pick up at city but being told out of stock. Order successfull about same time as you.

  • These things are usually pretty scary on the internals. Don't feel bad if you missed out.

    • +1

      Any basis for that statement?
These guys aren't your common yumcha brand. They may not be as good as your UPS branded ones, but they are prob around the same par as the DS ones which are well reviewed.

I've opened a monster power one before which is like $100+ and the internals look pretty messy too.

      • Yeah. There's a particular model, it goes under many brand names, has been on ozbargain a few times. It is NOT the particular one in this post.

Connexia and I think Boss are two of the brands it's sold under. Many IT stores sell it and so does COTD (well.. they now sell a newer model with USB ports).

The screws were useless and the casing on one of my boards broke open. It had a few toroids (if thats the name) about 50cm of wires and some dodgy looking hand soldering (could have been done by a 6 year old), with no more than $3 of parts. It was incredibly shonky. Usually sells for $28 on sale IIRC.

Finding a good powerboard in a sea of cr-p is hard. Generally speaking (as I was) "these things are usually pretty scary on the internals"

    • What would you suggest instead please?

      • +1

The ones MSY and plenty of places stocked which is Bosson, CABAC, huntkey are quite good, you maybe able to find some CABAC ones on eBay for around $20, but you most likely won't get the Connected Equipment Guarantee.

For some odd reason, pretty much every computer place in melb has run out of the CABAC type ones.

        Example:
        http://www.msy.com.au/notebook-acc/12081-huntkey-paa804-8-ou…

        • Thanks Iplau. Appreciated

      • I wouldn't know. I have one old model belkin which weighs as much as a couple of bricks, but I don't know what the internals are like.

I also have a DSE one, again I don't know what the internals are like.

I gave up because the cheap stuff like Connexia is junk and the expensive stuff is too expensive for my tastes.

        • Expensive is not always better. For example Monster Power is what TGG/HN pushes people to buy, but they aren't any better than your standard cabac or connexia.

Its like people who think these are awesome:
          http://www.amazon.com/AudioQuest-Diamond-6-56-Braided-Cable/…

        • @lplau:

Yes, I know. But cheap has always been poor quality (not commenting on this particular product still - haven't used it).

I'd be interested if somebody would undo the screws on this one and post a photo..

        • @justtoreply: No worries, I will undo one tonight and post a few pics of the internals. I'm curious about how the internals look on this one. haha

Sadly nothing is built like they used to be when they would use high quality components.

        • @justtoreply: Undid the screws, couldn't get a pic of the front of the circuit board as the switch is soldered on which keeps the board from easily being removed. Only way to remove it is to desolder the switch, was too lazy to do that.

Anyways took a peak through a hole to see the front of the circuit board. It looks like a heap of Metal oxide varistor clusters soldered onto the board.

Not sure if there is any capacitors to remove noise, according to the box, it supposed to have a noise filter, which i am guessing is hidden behind the varistors.

Overall the soldering pattern on it looks pretty clean and doesn't look like it was done dodgy like i've seen in some powerboards which look like they were done by 5 year old kids.

        • @lplau:

          Cool, thanks for looking :)

  • Just picked up the last one at the city branch. Was told that these had been on special for a while now buy had only starting flying out the door last night.

  • Bought 2, thanks OP.

  • Was at the city branch to pick up my online order and the guy says there were only 3 left and they have been allocated.

Was also told that they had 50 orders come through and are out of stock and will refund us (will keep an eye out on this)

    Damn…

    • Haha, the power of ozbargain….

  • It never gets old picking up an ozbargain purchased and watching the salesman's response to "so have ya sold many of these today" pmsl,,, btw these boards are designed in the usa and made in china lol

    • Well thats not too bad, designed in usa made in china, alittle better than just straight from China.

Everything is made in China nowadays unless you want to pay a premium. Even when you are willing to pay a premium, it doesn't mean it won't be made in China.

Apple has been doing it for years "Designed in California, MADE IN CHINA"

      • +2

no, it wasn't a complaint just an observation, the quality of the board looks great and I see why other places are charging $40 and above, It equally as good as the d.s board I have ( made in china),,,,brilliant bargain imo,,cheers

        • +2

It is fun asking them how many people have come in for it. Haha.

  • My paid, confirmed order has been cancelled.

  • I've done a quick search of the outlet you provided and the price has risen to $35.00. Probably it's out for the time being.

    • You may be able to still get it in store for $12.
When I picked up mine in Box Hill, they had a new shipment arrive, so they should have more.

I asked them the price and they said $12 not sure if they raised the prices yet.

  • Anyone got their refund processed through yet?

  • Thanks OP, picked up my order yesterday.
