    • anyway to fly just to LA?

      • unreal deal! but just out of my travel dates unfortunately

Hi phreshlord - Just use the same dates & change Seattle to LAX. The prices to LA aren't as cheap as the AirNZ sale, though. However the dates of this sale might suit you more.

  • I've got friends in the states that are looking to come here, theres all these ~$900 return flights from AUS to the US but everything in reverse (From US to Aus To US) is around $2k. Anyone know of a way to get prices like these but in reverse?

one way to hawaii/fiji, one way to australia, book this to get home and another trip back at a later date ;)

    • My mother in law just flew by fiji air, one way was about $600 to Syd from LA

    7 dec C.

  • As ususal, great research @IWantThatFlight
Is there any way to get the ~$450 flight one way? i.e. If you travel to a non aussie country afterward?

    • Hi mprisk,

Not that I know of. Maybe fly to Hawaii on Jetstar and then link up with another sale from there on?

  • Seattle is a great city.

      Great or wet ;)
Every time I've been there it never stops raining except once it snowed.

Great place to visit. Plus they have legalised weed.

  • Rep do you have any cheap flights to Tokyo during the June July period?

  • +1

Great prices, very much worth an upvote. However it's been a while since I flew United and their planes/service weren't that great. What are they like these days across the Pacific?

    • upgraded the old 747's to 777's. I hear it's much better now.

  • +1

No doubt about it with the current AUD/USD so low like bank 0.72AUD to $1USD these cheap flights will continue for a long time so they can get bums on seats.

  • +1

just don't tweet anything about United :)

  • Great price to the US, but still not in the dates I need to travel(~19 June to 13 July)
Guess I will hold out a bit longer :)

    • +1

I've never seen prices this low for Seattle -
      best of luck

    • would you mind telling me if you find anything? I have similiar time range. I'm going for 4 weeks from 20-30June. Could be anywhere in the USA, I don't mind.

  • Thats amazing!!!!!!!!!!! Well done OP

  • Has anybody had any recent experience with United? I understand that they finally upgraded their planes with personal screens, but has the service improved?

    • +1

I flew Mel-Lax and back late March, early April.

The plane was pretty cool, first time I've flown on one where there aren't shades to pull down on the windows, they just tint them. Personal video screen now as you noted.

I'm 5'11 and I was pretty happy with the leg room in Economy Plus (knowing it was still economy).

They stopped giving free wine, but you could buy it for $7USD. As posted below they are bringing it back in June.

I'd prefer Air NZ, but for a cheaper flight I'd happily go United again.

  • Slightly off topic. Need to book to the States for late November for a 2 week trip. Should I book now or hold off to see if flights come down even further? Typically flights in December are more expensive so I am wondering whether I should jump on current prices (~$1070 with Delta and United). Thanks!

  • +1

I normally travel to the States in early November and on average book at least 6 months out. I typically pay between $1200 - $1299 with Qantas. If you can snag $1,070 now I would take it.

Worth noting UA are bringing back free beer/wine on transpacifics along with some other changes from June 1.
