  • $29 19m Folding Clothesline

How much do they normally sell this for ??

    • +5

These type of offers by Masters are one off, much like when Aldi sell their products week to week. Therefore, for this product there is no price history. To examine whether it is a bargain by ozbargain standards, one would need to conduct research. A quick google search for the a similar clothesline product at Bunnings reveal that they sell 11metres of line for $39, link here http://www.bunnings.com.au/daytek-slimline-fold-down-iron-gr… So in my mind the clotheline qualifies as an ozbargain worthy post. However, please feel free to conduct your own research and if you find something cheaper, please share with the Ozbargain community. Hope this clarifies things and answers your question.

If you can't post the original price, how do you know it's been reduced ?

      • +1

I'd say it's more comparable to this one at $105. Bunnings one has a bit more line length but around the same dimensions

      • Thanks,

Apart from the price, is there a difference between the 'Sun King' and the 'Sentinel' models? The pics look identical…

    • +1

Like sparkyglo said the idea is similar to Aldi with their specials. There is not a normal price shown because it is a special buy.

I think this is a good comparison https://www.google.com.au/search?q=single+fold+clothesline+1…

      • How much do the wall fittings cost
        Basically useless without them

        • +1

          Wood..four coach screws $3.00
          Brick..four dynabolts $5.00

  • believe it or not.. someone stole this from my friend's granny flat.. maybe the neighbour…

    • Were granny's panties on the line at the time?

  • Now that's a tough choice - $29 or $199 … for basically the same thing

I had clothes on the line last week, it rained every day so they would take forever to be dry (and dirty by the time they're dry as well).

It all depends where you live though, the further north you head the lesser need for a dryer.

      • We manage in Melbourne with a clothesline. Hardly ever use the dryer as it's so expensive to run.

Most times we get the washing mostly dry and maybe need to rehang it on the next day after the rain to finish drying, either that or just finish off for ten mins in the dryer.

I'd say it'd be harder further north as it's so humid, clothes take longer to dry. Ie Melb yesterday was cool, but a nice dry wind was perfect.

  • Would it be possible to install the clothesline inside? I'm pretty hopeless with these things. Also, with wall fixings not included, does this mean that I would need to buy a separate kit or screws or something to install on the wall? Thanks.

    • +1

I guess so. It would need to be secured through the plaster to the house frame though.

Also would look very ugly inside

    • +1

Not really intended for indoors. I guess you could, but it would be fairly impractical.

Typical install on a standard brick-veneer home is done with some dynabolts into the exterior brickwork. Easy enough to do yourself (especially with a hammer drill).

  • Hey rep what is the warranty on the dryer? Can't find a review or any information on it online.

  • That's the clothesline we have. I hit my head on it last weekend… FCK it hurt! I had bits of rubber in my skull until this morning.

PS: the folding mechanism I swear doesnt seem to work. I've been too afraid to try for fear of breaking it, it seems so stubborn. It was already on a house we bought.

I just rang Masters near Adelaide Airport approx 10:48am ACST spoke to Bromwyn - plently of the clothes line but going fast at the moment . The dryer she said 6 were left.

    • At 1.30pm there was still around 20 or so clotheslines sitting on the end shelf to the left.

Tried to post a deal in the catalogue on the Hills Self Watering Garden Wall from Masters but I'm a new member and can't post for 24 hours. Single $19, double $29, big saving as I've been looking into these for years and they are usually over $70.. Buy 7 double garden walls for $203 and get 2x $15 gift cards for free.
