Xiaomi 10400mAh Portable Mobile Power Bank $15.39 USD and Xiaomi LED $2.29 USD Delivered @ GearBest

The Xiaomi deals just don't stop :) Similar to the Banggood deal, but 40c cheaper. Looks like Gearbest is responding to Banggood, although Bandgood has 4.8% cashback from cashrewards atm. Anyway, more choices is always good :)

  • What's shipping like from GearBest? Is it also a month like Banggood?

  • I bought one of these and when it works its brilliant.

The thing is I can't work out the part where you recharge the unit itself.

Whether I use the USB connection or the micro USB connection connected to the mains it just doesn't seem to recharge the unit properly.

Sometimes only one or two lights will come on (even after 24 hours or more) and sometimes that means that it has mostly fully recharged and sometimes there's bugger all charge in it for when I actually go to top up my iPhone.

Does anyone have any similar issues?

To charge it in 8 hours requires a 2Amp charger, I only have a 1.5amp charger so it takes about 12 Hour. I used to use a 1Amp charger and it took forever.

You recharge it using the MicroUSB socket. It will never charge via the USB connection (that is the output)

When it is charging the 4 lights "pulse" 1 2 3 4… 1 2 3 4… in order (the highest one blinking, the lower ones solid on) For example. 2 on and the third blinking means that it is charging between level 2 and level 3.

Your charger needs to be a decent one, no point trying to charge this via a laptop port.

    • Are you using pass-through charging - that is, are you trying to charge a device connected to the USB socket whilst also trying to charge the powerbank ? If so, you get a slow charge on both the powerbank and the device.

    Thanks for everyone's advice.

Embarrassingly I was trying to charge it via the USB output and with a 1 ma power brick so …. yep.

Swapped to the micro USB port and a 2.5 ma power brick and it's smooth sailing.

    Thanks again.
