seems to be very limited in stock. i was looking for one, but have a samsung tv. not sure if i should just opt for the samsung so i can connect it wirelessly to the tv than an extra cable.

  • I have this one and to be honest it's only average(not a fault of this brand just sound bars in general if you ask me), I got it because a lot of movies the dialogue is to quiet and I thought this might help but it doesn't really, it has good bass but beyond the odd explosion I wouldn't bother buying again.

Have you tried turning off the "surround" option when watching a movie? Made dialogue better on ours.

      • Yes tried everything without much luck, maybe I am just going deaf.

Voices are naturally softer in most movies. You can try going through the audio settings on your blu ray or dvd player and changing the dynamic range or night time option. That way, you don't have to turn the volume way up to hear dialogue

  • i got this last year from dick smiths for $120… came with a FIFA 14

    • worth a buy? much better than stock tv speakers?

      • +1

I got the fifa deal and then sold the game for about $25, bringing it to ~$100.

Well worth it as the stock speakers on the Samsung TV were muddy and weak.

This sound bar doesn't really offers much surround effect, the bass is pretty weak, but the sound quality is decent. For the price, it's good, but I doubt its as good as other soundbars in the $200+ range.

I would recommend getting a univerasal remote so you can tie these speakers into a single remote. The small remote that comes with the soundbar has a habit of hiding.

        • I agree….

i got the universal remote (cheap) from a dick smith sale too… tied into both sammy tv and soundbar.

decent sound. not much bass but it does the job :)

      • If you don't have a problem with your TV speakers I don't see the point of using external speakers. I think you will need them for newer TVs though because it seems TV manufacturers are spending less money on speakers.

I have a 6 year old cheap Chinese TV and it sounds fine with internal speakers but the last 2 good brand TVs I bought had absolutely rubbish speakers and I needed a sound bar. I refused to watch anything on them because the sound was so horrible.

  • Only compatible with basic Dolby Digital not DTS?

  • Would anyone know if $238 for the Yamaha YAS-103 is a good price? RRP $349 I believe. Would like to know asap as deal ends today

I recommend you save your money and get the Sony CT60BT.
But ultimately it's your decision, so here are reviews of each which may help you decide.
      Sony CT60BT Review
      Yamaha YAS-103 Review

      • Yeah I've noticed both have really good reviews.
Just went to look around at a few and I've noticed a lot of Soundbars don't actually come with cables i.e. the Yamaha does not come with an optical cable and they wanted $50 for it, was a deal-breaker for me.
Sadly there seems to be none of the Sony ones left.
