Along with Vodafone, Telstra has also been proactive in helping family and friends of earthquake victims in Nepal.

To help our customers check on friends and relatives affected by the earthquake, we’re offering free standard voice calls and texts for calls made from post paid mobiles and fixed lines to Nepal from 6am AEST on 25 April until 6am AEST on 9 May.

For pre-paid customers, we’re offering a refund of the costs of your standard voice calls and SMS to Nepal from 6am AEST on 25 April until 6am AEST on 9 May (refunds will be applied by 14 May).

Please keep in mind that disruption to services in Nepal may impact calls getting through.

    Viber seems to be the first one to announce free calls to and from Nepal. Great support for people trying to reach their friends and families in Nepal including myself. PrayforNepal.

      I can hardly see someone who has friends/family missing not making phone calls regardless of the cost. Hence these free calls are not bargains, but merely cheap PR by the telcos.

    Good on them, but I wouldn't say this was a "DEAL" or a "BARGAIN"

    This is a company doing what is right for those who may have friends and families in Nepal.
